Im getting sworn in next Thursday. After that im getting my ship date for this. Tbh im not that confident I'll pass. But hearing alot of other people's success stories did boost my confidence a lil bit. Even if i pass i still dont know what job i wanna do.
I scored a 62 on the Picat but a 25 on the asvab at MEPS after failing the verification test.. I felt defeated but now thinking more positive going into this program next month.
I’m actually gonna go to this course my recruiter is not letting me down which is great. I scored a 35 on the picat and a 28 on the ASVAB at MEPS yesterday. I too felt defeated. But my recruiter is going to put me in this program. so obviously there’s still hope for us hopefully by the end of September I’ll be leaving
This the O9? I get shipped out soon for it and then basic, the 11th of February is when I’m going to do this. Wish me the best of luck, I’m a husband and father of two, it’s a dream I’ve always wanted to accomplish, I wanted to be a marine, but army is so much better, I’m glad to have changed my mind and went army🙂
I heard this program was made permanent, and I love it. Going forward, we should put this course out in the field in multiple locations and let the folks all over try it. Perhaps run an initial "challenge" with no obligation, like the Army's own Tough Mudder. Challenge: take the ASVAB and PT test and something that involves teamwork like a Leadership Reaction Course. With medals/prizes given. This would be so much visibility, fun, and get the young folks interested. We could even have... okay, never mind... I could go on all day... I have many ideas, but resourcing them is another thing, right?. Of course, you could call on us veterans and retirees to volunteer. Most of us miss working with troops and would do so in a heartbeat, even as a volunteer.
Na not permanent they just took it away for national guard which is basically part time military due to it not being enough space because a-lot of people are joining this program including me its just a matter of time before they take it from army active duty.
Im coming to this soon taking my physical soon around june i believe in myself in my success in this bc my recruiter told me he had a few recruits got in this and pass

I enlisted on November 7th, 2024 and my ship date to BCT is January 7th, 2025. I passed the ASVAB and enrolled to 12N job. I'm happy but sort of nervous now for BCT!
I was on this course, it is more difficult than the basic training itself. Everything depends very much on drill sergeants, if you get into the bad ones, they will physically break you. Some companies do not allow the exchange of information and there is no time or opportunity to study after class. just a prison DO NOT RECOMMEND! if there is an opportunity not to go to this program, then don't go. you must understand that if you go, your basic training will be 4-5 months (time in the program is on average 2 months and sometimes 3)
You will get a 99% waiver if you fail the exam three times, but it may take 2.5-3 months + 10 weeks of basic training + specialty. It will be a long way, you have to understand...
This looks like a tremendous program. Is there a system in place to track the graduates afterwards? I’d hope that Big Army would track pass rates and performance in Initial Entry Training, UCMJ actions in units, types of discharges, reenlistment rates, and pursuit of higher education during and after their Army service. My best guess is that these graduates will do well at staying out of trouble and earning Honorable Discharges, simply because they appear to be more grateful for their Army opportunities that their peers might be. Just a guess.
For anyone that’s in this program I understand that the main focus is studying and passing the asvab for someone that’s struggled academically their whole life do you feel this program will help them? Also, while attending this program, do you have time to work out and get in shape For BCT?
If you take it seriously and pay attention to the teachers and not be afraid to ask questions, you can be successful. And yes there is physical training as well
