Woman in the house can not goes good with stereo loudspeakers. Lol great vid. I have also had a pair of PHILIPS FB-825 hooked on my AKAI AM-73. Awesome warm sound and super hights! But when the INFINITY RSIIIB arived the PHILIPSIOS are bye bye.
I didn’t count one pot hole! Again, thumbs up for the roads in your country! Not too sure about your score though. I know Philips is a Dutch company that wasn’t huge here in the States, although in the 90’s I did own a Philips/Magnovox CRT tv, but were they a big player in the speaker market there?
At a certain moment, I think around 1970 , Philips had 400.000 employees worldwide. They lost the 70's electronica war because they stuck too long on that 5 pole din system. They had good products though but not as finessed as the Japanese made them. Just tested some philips speakers from 1970 the 22RH497. Simple looking speakers but so much better sounding as the jbl L100 ore JBL 4312a i reviewed.
Wow. Didn’t know they were that big. They’re big here with electric toothbrushes and shavers! I’ve never been a big fan of JBL’s home speakers. Their studio monitors and PA systems are good at what they do. What will you do with those Philips speakers since they have rotted cones?
what's the model of the speaker. they look nice probably seas drivers, refoam them with the manufacturers recommendations not rubber or impregnated silk. not difficult make sure you clean off the old surround and glue thoroughly with a solvent , might come in the kit ask the manufacturer, or you could use acetone. not difficult to do. a suitable contact adhesive or rubber cement, place and glue to the driver cone first make sure it's fits correctly to the metal frame. then glue to the metal frame it should just sit comfortably no jiggling should be required!!! just firm down with your finger. try first a dry fit mark it with a pencil on the driver cone in a few spots to get it aligned. farming down the surround support it underneath the outer edge of the driver with your finger with the other hand, go around with both hands squeezing together gently you might want to try PVA glue if you're not sure confident, you have a lot more drying time have to make sure it dry thoroughly before use 24 hours. and held down with tape while drying both parts have to be partially dry before the other part is glued preferably driver placed upside down. Go with the manufacturers recommendations should be in the kit or they will tell you if you contact them. Give it a go mate I'm sure you can do it's not different so you mess it up you just buy another kit to get it right don't use acetone on plastic drivers only paper or metal. you might as well get a capacitor kit at the same time there might be some recommendations by the manufacturer to improve speaker. seas generally good company like that. plenty of clips on RUclips as well showing how it's done. for quick Bodge repair you can use 3M surgical tape stuck on over the foam surround and on the driver keep it to the shape of the surround this can be use for small holes
After watching your videos ,i can tell you i live on Long Island NY which is like 50 miles from Manhattan..The roads,in NY Suck...when there paved they use shit to pave them...and they last about 3 years before they need to be redone again...over and over again ,its really embarassing your next to ours....replacing them is easy it just takes time to scrape off all the foam...white glue ,clothes pins and replacement ,surrounds...i have done plenty of them....
The problem you have is not the shortage of money but the wrong distribution of the money. Your leaders are all in the pockets of big companies. Chris Hedges, an American Nobel prize winner and renowned, writer and journalist, describes in his books exactly what the current problem is in America. Where in China the 2008 crisis was swept away by huge infrastructure projects, they thought they would solve the problem(to borrow too much money that put banks in trouble) in America and Europe by making money free available for banks. Chris Hedges explains in the following link how the rule of the social contracts no longer function because of the unstoppable way capitalism entails and how the increasingly powerful capitalists bring democracy out of the game: ruclips.net/video/ZBcOyv8LZ8s/видео.html

were its this place?
Easy job,to replace the foam surrounds on these speakers. I've done it,on a few speakers,of my own.
They're worth to be repaired. I still have the brochures of these series. Philips had some good speaker lines.
Just passed on a pair at a Goodwill for $200. While intriguing, they felt kinda cheap. And they needed foam.

Very nice Hi-Fi speakers. Shame about the foam surrounds. Worth them getting repaired though.
