- This video is episode 13 of a Classic Mini rebuild with a Nissan Micra K11 1.4 16v CG engine conversion. This episode details all the critical steps in rebuilding a K11 1.4 16v Engine, including the cylinder head reassembly, crank, bearings, pistons, rocker cover, timing chain and cam timing using a DTI.
Much of the rebuild process can be applied to the rebuild other similar engines.

What have you done for higher compression?
Brilliant video sir! Could I ask though would you ever consider doing these kind of projects for customers? I'm researching everything I can about k11s for maintenance and to be able to modify for performance and efficiency, I bet there would be plenty of members from the micra mafia that'd love to be able to buy a ready made 130-140ishbhp engine to be able to slap straight into a k11 chassis, even my little 1.0 50 something bhp micra is a little go kart on tight B roads but people I know have turbod supercharged these nissan engines or just straight swapped for something more beefy, but one bloke made a sleeper with basically this exact engine except it was no way near as clean but 0-60 5.7 seconds and could go past 130mph, that's the type of performance I'd love in my little go kart 😂
I turbo'd my cga3de, and it makes 142bhp on a stock engine!

Is k11 Nissan same specifications torque for head gasket with micra 2008 model?
the 2008 model or K12 is a different engine so you will need to check the workshop manual to be sure
What differences do the rally cams make? Thanks! ☺️
Wider lap and higher lift cams are essential for making high end power, the rally cams should make peak power at around 7500rpm
Hi, Can you please elaborate on the strait swap of the K12 to K11 injectors?
There are literally a one for one replacement, the same fittings and same connector, the K22 injector offer a much better spray pattern
@@davidlee4966 Ah in this case the CGA3DE has the same injector shape as the later models, different from the older cg13deand cg10de models. Got it.
Great video! Are those forged internals?
All internals are stock, apart from the cams, it’s a strong engine with a max rpm of about 7800, I have been assured that a lot of auto grass cars run them to 10000rpm on a regular basis!
How's the project going david?
Its been slow up until recently, just got back into it, recommissioning the chassis electrics, just about to start the ECU programming etc, so will do another youtube video soon, can't wait to finish it to start a new project
