I used to think that shipping any of the animatronics from like 1-5 (and some from 6 and ucn too probably idk) was weird, but I started seeing that a majority of it is just shipping the animatronics themselves, as in the characters they're supposed to be. Still maybe a bit awkward since we still know very little of the original games character's stage/in-universe lore personas. That, and I personally find shipping Circus Baby, puppet, and Golden Freddy in particular still kinda weird bc of how tied they are with the children possessing them y'know (and that's coming from someone who used to ship Circus Baby and Ballora together back in 2016 bc I didn't know the full story or lore of the game yet and assumed the funtimes were just Ai this time lol)
Shippers are pretty well-known in the fandom. As long as they are shipping the in-universe characters and not the souls or animatronics, I don't care. There are certain exceptions, though, like Springtrap, Molten Freddy, and any variant of Circus Baby/Elizabeth. BB, JJ, and DD, too!
