EDIT:
Whoops, turns out I didn’t actually mention the gorilla and the garden hose in the video. Usually, I compare the bent wrist to a bent garden hose because both examples hinder the thing you want to work well from working properly (fingers moving easily or water coming out normally). In most cases a straight left wrist then requires curled fingers for fretting which looks like a gorilla’s hand to me when you do it without a guitar.
