It's all about balance. If you focus too much on being productive and making currency, it feels more like a job and you question why you are even playing. I recommend using a method that is both fun and profitable, and switching every so often to break the monotony.

"Maintenance" is a incredibly undervalued in these currency strats.. most of the content creators who post their "5-7div/hr" videos completely ignore all the time they spend trading for supplies and setting everything up.. and they certainly ignore time spend liquidating.. I actually think heist is criminally underrated for that reason.. there is just the early league "setup" period where you're leveling and gearing rogues.. after that you're just zooming with little to no maintenance.

A personal favorite is the "just buy in bulk on TFT" but on TFT the price is like 40% higher and negates most of the profits compared to an easier strategy and they used prices from trade/viewers pre-video for even less than trade site by the time you're looking at it as the point of comparison. Not to mention the hyper optimized build, so you're going to get like 1-2div/hour for this "6-8div/hour" strategy while doing a ton of micromanagement. Joy.
Back when I was newer to the game I got burned once by doing a strat like that which was straight up break-even due to the required resources being extremely low supply so the strategy was useless if anyone knew about it, unless you sniped resources on live search.

in the spirit of learning: crafting mana as a slam block on a str/dex helmet does nothing. Mana cannot spawn on that item. The right block is % arm/eva or flat arm/eva depending on what you want as a final outcome.

This is the first league I’m actually making decent currency, since I spent the last few leagues trying to learn and just go with trial and error, but now that I’ve persisted, I’m making currency with mechanics I enjoy, and am farming to build up a character that will be much more efficient than what I’m currently working with. I’m very excited for the end-result of my labor. But learning that all the content creators click-baiting with the “Make X divines PER HOUR with THIS EASY STRAT” just wasn’t gonna do much, I tried out my own stuff, did my own research on it, and am enjoying myself quite a lot,l even while working with a slower build atm

This really is true. I thought I wanted to make a bunch of currency. A few leagues back I made a character that could do simi farming. Wrangled up the gear and 6 simulacrums and started. Decided to put all my stuff in two quad tabs to keep track of the currency, all that jazz. Half way through my second one, I started to stare at all the stuff piling up and the realization hit me: "Holy cow. I like, really, really don't want to go though the process of actually flogging all this stuff!"
Since then I've been happy being a weirdo pseudo-ssf Andy that occasionally plays with my friend and dabbles in the market for an odd t1 or t2 unique or the occasional rare.

Knowledge is power. And never was this more clear to me than this league.
I was one of those players who made like 1-3 divines per league (or exalts as they were back then).
This league I finally followed a proper build guide, and focused on a single strategy (blight). Really learning everything I can about it and hooooo boi.
From 1-3 divines in a full league to 3 divines in the first 2 weeks. And another couple hundred chaos on top on that.
And from there it escalates. Because i’ve always know about crafting. But its either “you’re to poor” or mayby spamming fossils. Now that I actually have currency and *know* I can get more I can actually craft items for both myself and builds i’ve played previously. Earning me even more resources.
The league resets every 3 months. But whatever you learn sticks with you for the rest of the game’s lifespan. And thats the main difference between the 1% and everybody else

Exactly!!! So advice #1 and most important - choose ur build with ur preferable playstyle (mapping bossing delving etc) and stick with it, learn ur build, its variations. Craft ur own rare items, experiment with ur atlas passive tree on pob etc. Master your build by playing 2-3 leagues at least on it. When u learn all aspects, will be shown on poe ninja as build holder - its done, go to next but dont forget about ur old build, craft some items for sellin' for this one etc.

The league of legends comparison is spot on.
In the past I reached diamond by focusing on learning myself and slowly improving on my mistakes.
The amount of mid-tier plats I met who watched streamers and tried to copy them to achieve higher ranks and raged because it wasnt working for them is ridiculous.
(To point out, my goal was never to achieve a high rank, but to have fun & enjoy playing, but I enjoy doing it by learning myself, so it happened kind of naturally).

Try as many (good) builds as possible, so you'll recognise lucky loot that you'd otherwise just leave or vendor.
If you you played a lot of builds, you can tell potent items apart at a glance and then you can just craft them if they miss something, unless it's hard to craft or worth to sell by itself.
Or you can just study meta builds and what kinda items they need, that's probably a lot less time consuming but playing different builds is the most fun part for me, so I do both.

A well know content creator did the same strat as me, excactly the same, even the same build, he basically copied me ^^ At day 5 of the league i had maybe 20 div (without crafts) and he had a mageblood and 30 div or so. Feels like making profit is easier than ever this league at very low investment with strongboxes, legion, essences, altars... everything at low investment makes like 4div per hour minimum. I've tried multiple farming strategies from no investment up to around 1 div per map but I haven't found a solid way to break the 4-6 div per hour barrier yet. High investment crimson temple farming is probably my most successful method because you're looking for high value cards that are quick and easy to sell. Condensing loot is incredibly time consuming and "fun" for me is not having to do that for an hour after a good farming session.

  • @hesham8
    @hesham8 Год назад +1

I play on console and have realized it may well be a completely different game. The market on console is highly inefficient, smaller, and less liquid. There’s ridiculous opportunity - for example, yesterday, polished scarabs were 3x the price of a gilded scarab. The spread on divines is high - they can be bought at 175, but also at 225. Some strategies are entirely unavailable - nobody rolls sextants, so they’re not on the market, which means you can set whatever price you want. A low player base means that perhaps it’s 1-2 players that are supplying the entirety of the server’s fossils. A low player base means it’s a small subset of players running Ubers, which is why Omni is now 50d and there are only 3 max on the market at any given moment.
Console is a big private league with an asynchronous trade feature. If it weren’t for async trade, I think console would be unplayable - or rather, indistinguishable from SSF. These market mechanics have taught console players to craft, to utilize their resources, to be creative with builds, to run their own content. Need a double corrupted whatever? Get it yourself. Want a specific lab enchant? Run labs. Sometimes guilds can rely on each other to generate the things that each player is suited for - but really its more akin to playing in a private league. And I love ir.

completely agree with you mate. Said that, i have to tell you: do not ever block mana on armour/eva bases, cause they cant roll it basically. You block % inc. armour/eva if you wanna hit hybrid flat life and armour/eva. Basically the same goes for any non-intelligence base, hybrid or not. Found it kinda funny that you were saying "learn to craft to take advantage of items that drops" while doing that xdd dont want to be mean or anything. This game has so much depth that its just impossible to know about every detail

Every league i done the exact same thing, roll a mapper, spam 100% delirium (80% at league start) and just spam the exact same thing non stop, add a bit of profit crafting and flipping and well currency just flows in.
This league ive been trying some basic market manipulation aswell (pushed an item from 10-15~ div to 25-30) so that seems as a nice side hustle aswell, but my experience in this field is low for now.

its not really a scam cos if u put it up for sale n no one buys it, its useless to u anyway, but maybe they can turn it to something better. u will know it very easily when u priced something too cheaply, because like 10 ppl will instant mesage u at once n u will know u are selling too cheap, then dont sell that and put a higher price and test the market again, and so on.

I do my old crap way as I missed so many leagues and years of POE, I feel like its way too much to learn and is very overwhelming. All I do is drop all my loot in 5C stash tabs, then if nothing sells, I would lower full tab to 3C and then scrap it. If I get 5 messages straight away, then I would check the real price of the item and put in separate sell tab priced correctly. Saves me a lot of time going through items checking them , +I dont know all the builds and some shitty item in my opinion may be BIS for some other build. Dont make much currency that way at all but it is what it is

bro the 5:56 quote really hits at least for me because i'm a league player played serious one season grinding for the rank i wanted and i got it after that i haven't been grinding for many reasons but the main one was my job took 14+ hours from me a day while making shit money from it, got a much easier difficulty job but i'm still not trying to hit higher ranks because i'm trying to focus on my life and myself, as well as sleep which i can never get enough of apparently, but anyways point is i realized once i hit plat it's a make or break point in league most players that hit plat will never leave it grow an ego and can't improve because they don't allow in their head for them to be the problem creating an endless cycle of pain and agony for themselves in which they delightfully indulge, i play PoE mostly casually but i want to get better at the game so i'm starting to play it a bit more and trying to figure out what causes most of my deaths aside from messing with the league mechanic when i know i shouldn't and having bad gear and not being able to buy any because trade doesn't work, or craft any because i'm not the best crafter but i'm learning in the crafting aspect so we'll see what happens, i am also in need of experience tweaking builds because i followed one to the T and it isn't quite working right which is probably a gearing issue on top of bad internet, i can't wait to upgrade my internet and be able to play the game without spawning an essence mob or doing expedition legion or delirium without being completely frozen at 4k+ ping. always strive to learn from what happened and use it as experience for future proofing yourself. have a blessed league everyone many divvi and many reliquary drops for all of youn.

I used to play competitive R6 / Apex, some other stuff too. But you can clearly tell how the fastest learners will gladly lose 10 games in a row, if it means they get to learn something. Playing a new build / new strategy / crafting items at a loss is only a bad idea in the short term, like a day to an entire league. I spent almost a mirror crafting an ice shot bow before quitting a league (where I got lucky with currency), and never hit the bow. I learned alot about craftofexile & mod weights during that league. Meanwhile I have friends who don't even want to touch crafting because "its complicated and expensive", while its fine to play like this, they will never get better at it
As an example for build making, people who make cool builds every league like Jungroan probably try and fail new builds all the time, which just means they'll learn something, even if its trivial as "oh this gem really doesn't scale well". These are the things you WANT to be learning for build making, and it'll be the same for any thing you want to learn. Failing is significantly more efficient for learning than succeeding in the same thing 10 times over

As a noob my most solid way to get "rich" is to gather raw material or solid bases for people who do crafting and have money to spend. It's something I picked up from playing WoW where most profit comes from selling the items that other will use to complete something. In PoE I would farm beasts for Menagerie crafts for mirror item crafters, essences and enchant helmet bases in LAB after quickly checking Ninja. Most of my money has come from rolling clusters that I make for myself and If i hit multiple good ones I put it up for sale and some days I make 5 divs just playing learning the mechanics and other days people buy my bases and raw mats and rolled clusters for + 10-20 div. Its a fortune for a noob like me. Next league I will try Heist for fractures/ beasts to reroll fractures and Breach for Grasping Mails. You try different stuff every league as you learn the content and it changes what you do depending on league and what people find enjoyable.

i learned how to solo build a decent rf build to delv around 180 depth early in league i stack resonator and boss loot until later to sell them and make a boss build to do the rest of the game content ><
it's deff not the best way to make currency but it folow my pace.
ah and rly like to do blight dc about it's state i always focus on blight after getting out of delve usualy land me my first 10 div and free annointments.
took me around two leagues to find what i rly enjoy tho the first league was almost absolute pain i basicly didn;t know that a trade systeme was in the game aside from the trade channel wich forced me to make my own 6 link and crafts basicly was playing ssf without knowing it

i havent watched the full vid so not sure id this piece of info is but what i can say to poep layers is to stop thinking big. I have this friend in POE who always complains that he isnt dropping divs or mb cards and im explaining to him my strategy of scarab farming but this dude is likle "but bro these scarabs are 5c at most" meanwhile im sat on 86 divs and he has none. whatever strat you are doing think about cumulative progress instead of one big jackpot.

The most efficient way of making currency in this game is buying it from bot farmers. Do what's fun, it's just a game after all. Don't waste your time learning countless and needlessly over-complicated mechanics of PoE just to squeeze a couple more divines out of your gaming sessions.

I enjoy trading and it's hands down the most efficient way of making profit ingame. Out of all mechanics, properly incorrect pricing is by far the most complicated one of all.
That being said the thing that I keep doing ingame is gems. They always sell like hotcakes.

even though it may be true and i guess it is what you said, my no. 1 goal is fun and making currency is just a tool for that - i don't want to play an economy simulation, watching meta, observing the market, trading this and that
i want to play the game... and ya, i want to make currency, too, but as a no. 1 priority - as u said, the goal determines the question. So my question would be more like, what's the most appealing way for me to make currency while actually playing the game, that means doing maps - so i like the alc and go strats without preparing sextants, scarabs and so on...

idk if im asking the right question, but i would love to be able to expperiement more with skills and build in POE but i always feel i cant since im new to endgame and making currency and therefore its harder for me to just get a unique or gear setup for something i want to test (if that makes sense) , i think the most fun for me would be a mode where i can slap on every item every skill just like taht and fool arround with whatever comes to my mind, is there a way i can achiev something like that in game and how would i go about it? ty for any answer ahead and like your videos^^

Not really. Currency flipping only really works if you can scale it insanely high. And doing trades by hand that are making like 1 c Profit.
But crafting or flipping other stuff is definately the way to go.

Real talk. So many of those "Make X Div/hr videos aren't even that helpful to the people that need the most help. They're typically too high startup cost to get running. Usually you have to start with small gains before you can get into high profit schemes. If you can't afford gear for 1-2 Div, how do you expect to use that to buy maps and scarabs and compasses?
