    Scrap the horrible music in your videos. It wouldn't be so bad but have to crank up the volume to hear you speak then when the music comes on it blasts the viewer out and have to turn the volume down. Kind of ruins watching the video for it's purpose.

    Never worry about my teryx4 belt had 2000 miles on mine when I changed the first belt didn't need it at all just changed it because Kawasaki suggested to. Now pushing 4500 miles no problems whatsoever.
    Now my rzr on the other hand its at 900 miles on the original belt and in need of replacement.

      Yeah belt life is great on the Teryx, dealer told me as well 3,000 to 4,000 miles on a belt change. Did you notice all that dust as well?

      @@DerangedOffRoad yes some but not as much as my rzr. I really like Kawasakis cvt wet clutch always tension on the belt design that's one of the main reasons they last so long.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I'll be checking my belt this coming spring. Suggestion for your videos... Please don't make the filler music louder than your voice. I kept having to raise and lower the volume to hear your voice because the music was blasting at a "deranged" level of loudness. cheers

    @6:30 - you asked "Is this normal?"
    I'm not a mechanic but I do work on my own vehicles and my gut is telling me that this is normal, ya.
    That belt is spinning at the same rate as the input shaft, so it's constantly rubbing against both the input and output pullies.
    Another way to think about this is the fact that tires are wear items.
    Even though, in theory, the tires are always moving at the same speed as the road they're on, the tires still wear out because of the constant, slight friction between the two surfaces.
    A big difference, however, is that smooth metal has a lot less friction that an asphalt road has, but there still is SOME friction....... for as long as you're moving.

    As critical as this part is, you’d think Kawi would have thought this through. But I do love our Teryx, dreading going in there when I need to service that.

    Not an easy access item like it should be. Kawasaki specs say the belts should be measured and if they're 28.5mm or smaller thickness they need to be replaced. I like the idea of shielding the tank and keeping as much heat out of it. Just a comment about greasing the sealing gasket (o-ring) - petroleum products can make some o-rings swell and break down so it may be better to use a pure silicone grease which is designed not to swell, expand, breakdown flexible materials like o-rings. Thanks for posting this task.

    I agree, Garrett! When Kawi does a refresh of the T4, they need to give some serious thought to making the CVT more accessible.

      This absolutely sucks to do! They need to move that gas tank and make it easy to change the belt on the trail! Mine broke 30 miles away from Vernon on the pony express trail! Yeah no changing it out there! Towed all the way back!

      Is the 2nd gen(2010)Teryx 750 fi 2 seater the same situation-difficulty changing out the CVT belt due to the awkward location of the transmission ?

    This is VERY helpful! Thanks for taking the time to film it.

    I see alot of complaints in the comments about the cvt location? To me, it's a good idea. It's up and away from water and mud.

      The complaints mainly come from what it takes to change the belt and removing everything I believe. -Garrett

      @@DerangedOffRoad Exactly, bc of where it is. Which to me, is a good trade off to keep it from mud and water. It's not like we should be breaking it down often.

    Go through all that, better just put a new belt on and keep the old one for spare. That's a lot of teardown just to blow air in it.

    I noticed a squil when I was in reverse pulling a sxs out of mud, is there a way to tighten the belt or they have to b replaced

      As soon as you hear a slip usually the belt is done. No real way to tighten them.

    That my friend looks like a royal pain in the old buttocks! If you had to do that out on the trail, even worse, at night, I am sure you would be highly pissed off! You mentioned the Paiute Trails. We went up there for the Jamboree. Fun time! Whatever you do, DO NOT stay at the Paiute Inn. We ended up leaving a day early and headed to Duck Creek. Place was just terrible. Anyhow, nice video.... Keep um coming!

      Yeah it’s why I wanted that fix done by Kawasaki if they did an update to this machine. We are actually camping the whole time and hopefully will have some good vids of our adventure. Thanks for watching!

    I know its been awhile since you posted this video but i have a problem with my 2012 t4 belt i got the engine rebuilt and ever since than the belt is really tight it looked just like yours but when i try to put it in gear it justs grabs and stalls the engine out i am desperate for help i tried everything i cud think of and thought maybe u had some ideas?

      How do you like your 2012? I'm in the process of picking up a 12 with 4200 miles. I'm very new to all this and picking up to have something to take my kids out so nothing to crazy.

      @@gabrielmascote4184 Yeah well its an awesome machine a lot of power, but if u only want it to drive ur kids around u might want to look at something more like a Polaris ranger those are a lot quieter and also have turf mode. The t4 i think is more an aggressive rough country type of vehicle.🤷‍♂️

      @@nathanerb7502 Thanks for the info. I did see the Polaris Rangers but have read so many reliability issue reviews. Since I'm buying a used one I wasn't so sure. Also most of the ones I have found seem extremely worn out.

      I have a 2012, did similar thing. Check the clutch weights for debree. Sometime they get hung up can't move.

    i am wanting to change my belt. I was able to get the nut off the primary clutch, but i can not get the nut off the secondary clutch. I have tried with an impact and with a breaker bar with the bike in reverse and both brakes activated, but the belt still spins?
    any suggestions??

      Did you use the tension bolts and back the tension off the belt first? If the belt is still on the clutch it should be loosened first. Then an impact gun should take it off. -Garrett

    What if they moved the gas tank to sit under the driver? That would make it a lot easier to get to the cvt.

      True, but more heat comes out of the drivers side I believe.

    Garrett, I’m guessing the T2 is pretty close to the same process with the exception of having to remove the box behind the fuel tank?

    Another great video love your guys music. I have a little over 500 miles on mine now do you recommend cleaning out the belt housing seemed to be a lot of dust in yours?

      No you shouldn’t have to remove any clutches for a belt change. You will use two bolts and when you tighten them down the belt will start to get loose.

      @@DerangedOffRoad just a heads up. I did replace my belt and the pullies/clutches did need to come off even after using the 2 bolts. There just isn't enough space between the case and the pully. Its easy though.

    Totally a different subject but I watch a lot of your videos, as I am in Utah also. You seem knowledgeable, do you know if 28x10x14 will fit on my stock teryx4 le without rubbing?

      It’s best to run that setup with a bracket 2” lift. I ran 1.5” spacers and my dad didn’t run anything with his lift. His rubbed a little and mine didn’t at all. -Garrett

    well the belt change, heat, and cab noise is why i wouldn't buy the teryx, it's a good reliable machine, as for people saying it's not fast well it's can be just get a programmer to delete factory setting for speed and 4x4 speed limiter, maybe vforce john clutch work it will do 64 mph, thats plenty fast for trail riding, not ment for the dunes unless you get a 916 cc or 1025 cc motor kit.

    that right there is why I'd never own that machine. IMO that's way too much work to replace a belt.

      Its a lot of work for sure but the belt last much longer than Polaris and Can-Am so you’re not changing it out as often. It’s definitely a trade off.

      @@DerangedOffRoad Yeah, I get that. But if I ever had one go bad on the road once. I'd be collecting Insurance $$. just knowing what it takes would worry me to the point that I wouldn't be comfortable. JMO!
