Theory: *The player is the true antagonist.* Opposed to the fandom's belief that the Demon Guardian is the antagonist, I believe this to be false, with one seemingly tiny point: demon levels. The entire point is for you to beat them, right? So just because they're locked down there doesn't mean they don't know damn well what you did. They probably only wants to destroy Geometry Dash for two practical reasons: 1) To destroy it, then bring it back so that everything is back to normal 2) To destroy YOU. In Geometry Dash, YOU are the one with the most power. Not the Demon Guardian, not any of the Vault Keepers, not any fanmade character, not even RubRub himself. They understand that there is nothing in-game that they can do, so they're planning on destroying it. In conclusion, their plan was never meant to be evil. It was meant to save everyone. Though, everyone's afraid of them because if Geometry Dash is destroyed, then so will they all. In reality, it all comes down to what someone's real intentions are. Some people do the wrong things for the right reasons, but that doesn't make them a bad person. That means that their intentions are for the greater good. (Wait a second, this is the SECOND game to have a character who knows about Your Reality and has green eyes.) So the Demon Guardian _isn't_ the villain, they're an anti-hero at the least. (The difference is that an anti-hero does the wrong things for the right reasons, while a villain does the wrong things for the wrong reasons.)
Maybe... We, the player, do some bad things in the game, such as stealing Spooky and GlubFub's coins and destroying players in the main menu. We do what GlubFub tell us not to do, which is doing anything in the basement after taking the prize. And there is that "doomed us all" number sequence I'm new to the game, so I'm not sure if what I said makes sense
It not only says "the darkness lingers be careful who you trust" in geometry dash subzero the "i" says "roses are red violets are blue Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru" and in geometry dash world it says nothing :( but in geometry dash lite it says the same thing as full version "the darkness lingers be careful who you trust" Edit: who am I
when 2.1 was being developed there was a meme in the community, 2.1 is the chicken and because the update took so long people kept saying "the chicken is burning" which is another way of saying "the update is taking too long"
colon- the burning chicken was a reference on robtop commenting on twich saying "great news everyone, the chicken is in the oven" this makes theory if it is that the 1.2 is near but it came out 5 months later leaving the chicken to burn
My theory about GD : Scratch was created from an error in the code RubRub made. RubRub possesed a jewel a perfect.. one. Scratch planned on making a shop secretly and decided to steal the jewel so out of sneakiness he stole it from Robtop. Now RubRub is on the hunt to find the thief. However, Robtop does not know that Scratch made a shop. This room is secretive. RubRub deleted the error coding but since Scrach posessed the jewel, the code THOUGHT it was in RubRub's hands so if Robtop deleted the code, he would 'break' the game. Robtop still looks for Scratch and where he hides. In the game, the blue jewel (atleast what i call it) has more than just unlocking the 'Chamber of Time'. It was only meant for one person who is RubRub. (What i think of its purpose) This jewel was made from the beginning to the end of the realms in GD. Robtop, along with the 3 main vault keepers AND the "Demon Guardian" (when he wasn't like he is now) created this jewel by the power of the demension. Over time, Robtop made the main levels with this power and eventually made the difficulties. But.... There was a issue. The darkness lingered in the code and it messed with the jewel creating a new difficulty. Something beyond... Code. Something *unatural*. Demon difficulty. The Darkness shone upon the world and created monsters, demons keys, demon chests, and such. However, this was all created from the malice and darkness in the Demon Guardian. He managed to 'consume' a sample of the jewels power. This created darkness that summoned upon the world of GD. However, the Guardian became greedy. As Robtop finished the world of GD, the guardian tried to *kill* and *destroy Robtop* and take the jewel for himself. Robtop and the vaultkeepers sealed him away in a dungeon beneath the vault of secrets. The demon grew angry over time. He gained malice and hatred the second. The darkness fully consumed him. Turning him into a.. Monster. The player meets him, not knowing anything and unlocks the prison, letting out chaos upon the world again. (Also, RubRub lied to the demon about a lifetime supply of chicken in the prison). Now the player acsends into 2.2, getting one step closer to sealing the darkness's fate. Dats it. :P
What about sparky? The vault guy Or someone said “I heard him make fun of me, make fun of sparky.” And “Like he has a better name, what does Glubflub even mean?”
Do we know for sure the purple key unlocks the demon gauntlet? Everyone assumes the purple key unlocks the demon gauntlet. But it is possible just freeing the monster in general gives you the demon gauntlet, and the key is for 2.2 stuff. The only way to know for sure would be to free the monster, try to get in the demon gauntlet, then open the chest with the key and go for the demon gauntlet again, and as far as I know no one has ever done that on video.
The most creepiest one to me so far is the demon guardian one, he wants to DESTROY geometry dash, including the player! And when the vault keeper/ key master gets scared, that's when you KNOW you messed up.
I would want to see in 2.2 Is the gatekeepers getting opened by a special key Me and my friend believe that rubrub is the god in gd trying to protect gd by capturing the evil guardian
The demon guardian says that one key is probably in the hands of the gatekeeper, "RubRub's trusted pet". This explains why the gatekeeper doesn't fear rubrub like everyone else.
the text "be carefull of who you trust" has been solved in gd world, if you touch the shopkeeper enough then he will turn black and will warn you about your actions, then when you re-enter the shop, he sends you an icon
3 things I have to say about the fandom: 1) Why does everyone go straight to obsessing over the Demon Guardian in EVERY lore video? I mean, there are other things too! (Which is why I appreciate this video even talking about the Treasure Room) 2) Why are a lot of good players unnoticed? 3) Note: every time I say "you", I'm referring to the player and/or player-character... I've been noticing that with every hidden part of GD, everyone seems to be hiding something, except for the Keymaster. I mean, they let you in on every hidden thing in GD, from letting you into the Treasure Room without saying anything (maybe they just wanted you to get the 5 keys so that you could open some chests while you're in there), to letting you try The Challenge, to acknowledging the other vaults, to mentioning the Basement, you get the idea. And it probably was their job to _not_ tell you anything, right? They explore the other areas of GD with you, acting as your companion. They also aren't afraid to express themself, unlike everyone else, from being excited when you want to try The Challenge, to admitting they're scared of the Basement, to acting cheeky when you steal Sparky (Spooky's coin, in case you can't remember), you get the idea. So maybe, what if they actually care about you? Or, what if, maybe well, it's... beyond that? (I know that Keymaster X Player will never become canon, but I'm ok with that. Besides, it's only good as a non-canon thing, or at the most Fanon.) Also sorry if I ruined GD for you with that...
maybe "be careful who you trust" mean somebody you've known is a traitor or someone or something evil (yes, the meaning is obvious). And the traitor could be the Shopkeeper, because of the leak showing that he has another form which is actually a god named "Zolguroth"
Scratch owns the community shop and if we add the theory of him being "a criminal", that means that scratch might have stolen the designs from other people to sell to the player
The shopkeepers hand book was made from the shopkeeper so maybe the shopkeeper ripped that page out because he didn’t need that page or was scared of it we don’t know what it means but these are my theories of potbor
3:15 I think it's the shopkeeper, in GD world, after the 2.2 update, the shopkeeper is possessed by some kind of demon/god. And when that demon/god becomes angry, the shopkeeper becomes gray with red eyes.
Rubrub is robtop, its his nickname and it also makes sense, the demon guardian wants to destroy rubrubs hard work, so rubrub locked him up, scratch is afraid of rubrub as one of scratches lines is "im just a glitch in the code" and fears that he will be terminated for being a glitch, while the gate keepers are loyal to him as he created them
Before the 2.1 (or 2.0, i'm unsure which) update, the (i) button said something different. I forgot what it was though, but it was referring to the coin that you can find on that page
i noticed that the word rubrub can be seen in the text in the level "Nock em Out" of geometry dash subzero when your in that tunnel-like place where you get teleported from the floor to ceiling
I think RubRub is the creator of geometry dash. My reasons. The demon hates RubRub for locking him up, and plans to destroy geometry dash as revenge. Scratch is a glitch in the game, which RubRub doesn't like. The way they talk about him seems like he is the creator of the game to me. It would explain why the key master and guardian of the chamber of time are loyal to him. Geometry dash is described as a game even to the people in the game such as scratch who is "glitch". So I think it would make sense if RubRub was the creator. P.S. please do a follow to the storyline (if the game continues it) when 2.2 comes out. Edit: when I say creator of the game, I don't mean irl. But in the world where geometry dash takes place, geometry dash is still described as a game to the people in it as I already mentioned. Plus they all refer to you as a player.
(Aug 2020) MoldyMacaroniX: What is so mysterious about this character, RubRub is how we have never seen him before. (December 2021: after Sneak peek was released) Changed my mind
When you see the silhouettes of the guy I'm the cage (I'd his name) he seems to have demon horns, similar to the ones seen on demom levels, maybe he canonically is the one to make them all before he was in, or maybe the demon levels were modeled after how he looks
I think I know where to use the pink key, did you when you didnt let the demon guardian and press the demon gauntlet and the vault keeper says "only the demon guardian get through" I think the pink key is for the demon gauntlet maybe
I think “be careful who you trust” means the shop guy, who turns into a demon version after touching him a lot in GD world. He says “you dare touch a god”. After that you can get free icons by ads. If you keep touching him, he just says “can I help you”
The treasure room could belong to Rubrub Rubrub obviously locked away you know who for a reason. Rubrub does seem to scare a lot of characters. Rubrub is in the Geometry Dash 2.2 trailer.
another thing on RubRub, in GD Subzero, in Nock Em, during the section that is before the first wave, there is text on some of the walls. It flips between the letters R U and B, and obvious nod to RubRub. And in 2.2, another shopkeeper, called the Mechanic, is being added. He sells Death effects and trails. So, is the Mechanic this mysterious RubRub?
I know a lot more stuff about these mysteries like the demon who you set free is actually the final boss in geometry dash releasing in 2.3 I got a beta version from roptop he’s a nice guy tho nlg
Theory : maybe the keymaster is a double agent he might have helped for the heist that scratch might've done. And he could be working for rubrub as well because rubrub probably hates the demon guardian because the demon guardian wants to destroy geometry dash and he was probably locked in the cell by the keymaster
One of the mysteries I’m most curious about is when the demon guardian explains the second key. He says “ they tried to hide it from me, but I have my spies.” Now I wonder, is he working with Scratch? Scratch also somehow has the master emblem which is necessary for the third key.
I found out there is a fourth vault. It's the vault of existence. It is really hard to get in. You need programming skills because its hidden in the REAL codes of the game.
Geometry Dash might be a fun rythm-platformer game, but the lore in this game actually has a terrifying secret. It even seems like the lore is about to get a lot darker when 2.2 comes out. Zolguroth might be way more worse than "The Monster"

Did you press the demon gauntlet before you let the demon guardian get out
Geometry Dash is full of mysteries! Wow I'm interested with one of your videos.
I think “be careful who you trust” means the shop guy, who turns into a demon version after touching him a lot in GD world. He says “you dare touch a god”. After that you can get free icons by ads. If you keep touching him, he just says “can I help you”
everybody gangsta til' square game be havin' storyline
You made me curious, im rlly anxious to 2.2
Hyped for more lore stuff in 2.2 :)
6:45 I think it's Robtop
im a little bit sad that you didnt include zolguroth
Here's what I know for 6:56:
Its literally just robtop, nothing special.
The most insane mystery to me is that it deleted all of my progress because I had to change iPads to a new one because my old one stopped working
MatPat, i said come here
The treasure room could belong to Rubrub
Rubrub obviously locked away you know who for a reason.
I also think "The Burning Chicken" is a mystery too. Lots of characters refer to it.
never knew a game about jumping could have lore
Zolguroth has left the chat
"Top 5 unsolved mysteries of Geometry Dash"
1: What the Blast Processing voice is saying
(yes, i know what it says!)
What was the Glubfub Scret?
dunno...
The code to get the vaultkeepers coin
Great video I have to sub now!
I’m always wondering why the demon levels are locked until you get enough coins… maybe the darkness lingers has something to do with it 🤔
because of the gatekeeper the guy who let's you or not to tabs like not letting you because of a condition you should do or not being available yet
“Spooky!”
“That tickles!”
“WHAT”
Zolguroth, the shopkeepers dark version
Never expected that GD had lore
I feel like the treasure room chests were probably the demon guardians treasure before he was imprisoned
This hits different after 2.2 world
After watching the Sneek peak, I think there will be more about the demon guardian…
The tower could be a quest to find the demon guardian
Why does a game where u jump over spikes have that much lore, like wtf bro
I found out there is a fourth vault. It's the vault of existence. It is really hard to get in. You need programming skills because its hidden in the REAL codes of the game.
The "vault of existence" is just a fanmade thing it's not real. Although, it IS confirmed that there will be a 4th vault.
Geometry Dash might be a fun rythm-platformer game, but the lore in this game actually has a terrifying secret.
It even seems like the lore is about to get a lot darker when 2.2 comes out.
Zolguroth might be way more worse than "The Monster"
You might be correct, Zolguroth considers itself as a GOD, and The Monster is probably gonna team up with Zolguroth to destroy everything
