Fellow Arctic Bedroom sleeper here! I stay on hotel rooms over 150 nights per year and the locked thermostat minimums could be as high as 70… even 72… which often led to me tossing and turning and waking up all puffy and groggy. Y’all are pros but just in case you’ve never been told…. Resorts, hotels, cruise ships…. All have programming codes for their in-room thermostats. When guests request a cooler room or are “VIP” the staff can use a cheat code to enavle “concierge” control. For the majority you hold down “display” “power” and the “up” buttons until screen flashes VIP or ON and ouila! It’s now overridden and You’ll be able to lower it to 60 or lower. :) if that doesnt work, searching the model and concierge mode or override usually provides results. It took me years to figure this out and I now get deep sleep cuddled in my blankets and wake up with much less puffy eyes …. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your travel adventures xoxox
Thanks very much for the tips/insider info. I also love a cold room to sleep; I can and have dealt with dirty/crusty rooms, questionable plumbing, pretty much everything. As long as my "Do Not Disturb" sign is honored, and the halls are quiet, I can and have dealt with just about everything in hotel/motel rooms. I can honestly say that for me it's the staff that can make or break a stay. Just a bit of warmth/welcoming and some "insider tips" can absolutely turn a motel six into a five star resort, in my very humble opinion. For instance, I was just last week pretty much stranded at the airport in Miami so like thousands of others do, I got a room at the hotel located inside the airport. I had already been hanging out in the American admiral lounge for about three hours, so had zero desire to spend another uncomfortable hour or so by myself with so much commotion, With a smile I managed to plaster on my face while checking into the hotel, I asked the Awesome guy at the desk... can I order a sandwich from my phone like uber; is that possible? He said with a big smile...Yes!! it's entirely possible they will either meet you here at the desk, you can step out to the curb, or they will bring it all the way up to your door. Was the place worth nearly 300 bucks for the one night? Yes, even though I didn't even turn down the covers or use the bathroom. I had a safe place, Ice machine was working (total Win), and my travel tenacity was thoroughly tested.
This brings back so many memories of our honeymoon. There’s not many vloggers that have experienced Sandals (that I’ve come across anyways) and to me, it was the best 8 days of my life. Can’t wait to see more. The French restaurant and the one on the dock were amazing. Drank every day, ate SO much, massage, went on a shopping excursion, white night smoking a Cuban (I do not smoke and Yeesh), the rabbit hole. It really was an experience. If you’re reading this and want a trip, do it. It’s totally worth it.
Yes, we had a great time in Ochi In 2022. I loved the size and the difference in views and so many room categories. It seemed you were at 2 different resorts. We stayed high on hillside with very nice room that shared pool with 3 other couples. I would go back. Grenada in October 2024 was nice as well yet very intimate and by the 2nd day you knew the resort. Ochi was an adventure.
First time I went to Jamaica. They handed me a pound of weed for 5 dollars in the airport. It’s insane. Gave our bartender at the resort a 100 bucks he cried has his wife and kids talk to me on the phone and thanked me for their future.
@ dude I was so scared I was 19 as you know when you come off the plane it’s all the resorts that have your own little waiting area until the transposition comes. Dude comes up hands me a package and said just a couple American bucks. I give it to my bud and it’s like 17 layers of plastic wrap and we saw the weed I gave him 5 American. We smoked with every employee at that resort and even left some everyday for cleaners. This is not stuff you make up love your cruises. Just took my kid to Disney for her 9th bday. Planning a cruise for her 10th we live in NY so it’ll be a 7 day one 🤯 thanks for commenting I pay your bills 🕺
Laura you look absolutely gorgeous and I really appreciate that you and Fain are honest and genuine when you share your experiences 😊 Safe travels ✈️🌴🚢
Laura is absolutely beautiful. Saw her on a cruise before she has the most radiant skin I have ever seen and her personality makes her even more beautiful. ❤
Ochi was our first Sandals resort also! We stayed there twice before trying Sandals Montego Bay. That was amazing! Love your video as it brings back wonderful memories.
I love that you guys are so honest about your experiences. The open air dining would be a hard pass for me - I just can't enjoy a meal if I'm hot & sweaty.
This is so awesome! You two are my favourite to travel with and all inclusive exploration just opens up SO many more options and experiences for you to share with us! Thank you for your travels!! 😅🙏💕
Im excited to see your experience. I got married there a year ago and am wanting to see the pov of someone not having every day revolve around stuff for/from the wedding planning perspective.
Jamaica is my home away from home.. It's absolutely. Stunning if you have a chance go to negril..7 mile beach is stunning. I've been to jamaica 15 times..
This used to be 2 separate resorts, Sandals on the beach side, Beaches on the mountain side. I stayed at Beaches a couple times in the 90s. A shuttle would take you to the beach at Sandals, that stoned wall ramp hasn't changed.
We went to the same resort back in May. We had a butler suite with our own private pool and hot tub! One of the best experiences we have ever had. Seeing your videos makes us want to go back and do it all over again! Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we did!!
Great vlog! Incredible work with the graphics. Your videos seem like TV level production. Looking forward to the rest of this series. Jamaica has been added to the bucket list!
Also I agree with you we actually ate at sky terrace our first night and I was SO hot the whole time. But I agree I really wish it was enclosed with air conditioning.
Welcome back to the ATL!!! Every other airport I have visited feels so small and manageable. I am an ATL native and grew up picking my daddy up and dropping him off every week for years! We used to jump out of the car while mom drove the loop road and we would check the boards and if his flight had arrived we would go meet him at the gate....(sigh....the good old days). Thank you for taking us with you on your many adventures!
We LOVE Sandals Ochi. We stayed at the Great House (main pool side). Loved it!!! And no, the padded loungers and daybeds aren’t extra cost. That’s why we love Sandals!!! No up charges .
@that’s cool! We just wanted to be super close to food and parties. Lol. Next time use the app map!! It will “show you” how to get from place to place like google maps or something.
Laura and Fain, keep doing you. I love honesty. You guys do have me thinking about going to this Sandals resort. I’ve been to Jamaica once on a cruise and did an excursion that included some weed. Love this video! We stayed there for our first time in May beach side clubs side. It was so nice to have a balcony overlooking the ocean!! The property was VERY HUGE and going back and forth between hill side wasn’t terrible between the hop transportation but we found ourselves staying more at the beach side! Check out the speakeasy bar you need a secret password each day you can ask any workers and it’s sooo much fun!!! Hibachi was great too and if you love sushi we really enjoyed it
I love it…been wanting to see what Sandal’s was like and definitely trust your opinion. As far as Delta and the flight attendant, I think a call to customer service is in order. Make them give you a credit or even a round trip back to whatever island paradise you wish to visit next! Love y’all’s channel!
Absolutely great footage. Thank you! My husband and I had our first trip at Ochi Rios “Worlds Largest” 😂 we got hooked. We now only book with Sandals. Yup expensive but my goosh you get EVERYTHING! We stayed on the beach side with an AMAZING view. Make the best out of your 4 days. The speakeasy (Rabbit Hole) A+
We did sandals Montego Bay in April! I agree on the food, it’s not the best I ever had but it was decent. There is a sushi spot in Montego Bay that we were obsessed with. Went twice!
@ yes BUT you constantly hear those planes landing. Some guests hated that, we didn’t mind. Some get super close to the beach too, it’s kinda crazy to see!
@ lol it was! My parents had their 20 year vowel renewal and so they invited 45 friends and family members. It was cool because I got to shoot their vowel renewal video, the photos and walked my mom down the aisle. Not to mention getting to try the dope restaurants, going into town and the silent party. Hope you guys enjoy!
When I was in Montego Bay, I found out that resort patties were being shipped from a distributor in Scarborough Canada (where the Weeknd is from incidentally).
Gr8! Vlog Guys U-2 need to put RIU in Montego Bay where you access to all resorts 1 family & 3 Adults only…10 minute ride from Airport ..good people…great food…beautiful ambiance …& delicious drinks…
Would have picked Dunns River ( the newest sandals resort ) over Ochi ( oldest sandals resort) but glad yall had a good time. I just can’t get with the resort being split by a main road and having to cross the road to get to the beachside.
Hey guys. Hope you had a great time in Jamaica. I've always wanted to go to Sandals, but now after watching this video I'm not so sure. You didn't really complain about anything ( but the heat ), I can't help but notice the service didn't really seem very nice. Definitely not very welcoming. I also noticed when you entered you (small) room the bed looked like someone had been sitting on it. You even showed a scene from another stay which showed perfectly made beds. Wow what a difference. Looking forward to the rest.
Something I learned traveling hot humid environments is that air conditioning has spoiled me. People who live in those environments definitely don’t even notice it and don’t feel the same hot I do. When I was in Greece once it was 100° and I couldn’t wait to get in the car to turn on the AC. My husband’s aunt was with us and as soon as my husband turned on the AC she turned it off and said God’s air conditioning was better. I was like it definitely feels like it needs servicing. Lol. In all seriousness though, the heat and lack of AC definitely kept us from staying inside what had essentially turned into a brick oven. Needless to say when we are in Greece we enjoy our time in the sea! 💕💕💕 loved your video!
Love your series it's awesome and fun to see the world through your great videos!! Would it be possible to move the camera a little slower so we can see even more? Your comments keep things moving at a good pace and keep us interested the whole time!! Thanks!
Ohhh you guys made me so excited for our trip in January. It looks so pretty, and nice. Also I’m so sad, all the drinks and seafood look good and I’m going to be 11-12 weeks pregnant when we go 🫠 (this is what I get for waiting for our honeymoon 😂)
We met Kevaughn in June. We stayed up top for a few days, then down at the beach (and even got married…it was planned), and then went to Sandals Negril. Great video.
As someone that's travelled a TON via all sorts of accomodations, please give Riviera Maya a second chance! Some of the best resorts that I have ever been to have been there, especially for the price! 🙌
OMG the old school sandals commercial throw backs - same 😂😂😂 One of the most annoying things about moving to Jacksonville for me has been the fact that I have to connect to get so many places. Having only really lived long term in DC (IAD/DCA/BWI), Miami/FLL, Atlanta, and Boston - it is harder to get to the Caribbean from Jacksonville - basically have to go to Miami, Atlanta, or Charlotte to get anywhere. 😂🤦🏻♀️
When I go to Jamaica?I'm never in my room.I'm always on the beach so to pay.The prices for sandals is insane. This is just my personal preference because i've been to many samples in different countries.
Guys all I can say is DONT WASTE your money on the lounge. There was 10 of us in a group booking and we all paid for the lounge. But as you’ve already discovered everything was sooooo slowwww we did not even get a look in and and had to run to get our flight never mind the flipping lounge. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Also the whole Yea Man thing is meant in the way that everyone else means it. But for some reason every fool that’s been to JA on holiday says Yeh MON and as you can see that’s totally made up. Glad you guys are seeing and hearing the real JA for yourselves. Enjoy and have a good time guys… so excited for you ❤❤
I’m with yall! I hate being hot & sweaty specially when I’m dressed up. Give me climate controlled environments unless: 1) I’m at the pool/beach or 2) I’m doing an outdoor activity like hiking, playing a sport or the like. But if I’m eating, or drinking, or relaxing I want AC. Unless it’s a climate that it’s 70-75F outside either a breeze & ZERO humidity

The bond I have with my kid… not to get emotional but it’s good to see 2 folks that care about one another like y’all do. Props
Don’t forget - weed is NOT legal in Jamaica. Be careful, and just wait till you get to the resort. It’s not like you can’t find it everywhere….

After only one minute into this video, I subbed to your channel. You two are fun to watch. One day I'd like to try a Sandals resort.
Omg idk how I came across this video but I love the nostalgia of sandals, and you two are adorable 🥰

We never used to be people who used a travel agent but RUclips and cruising has definitely changed that haha it’s great!
I love you guys. ❤😊
If you like Sandals you need to take a look at the Shangri La’ group of hotels. Beyond amazing.
Love your videos ❤
Thank you! 🥰
I need to plan a trip here!
Our travel agent Zach is awesome if you need any help with planning!
Phenomenal dinner menu
Ohhh you guys made me so excited for our trip in January. It looks so pretty, and nice. Also I’m so sad, all the drinks and seafood look good and I’m going to be 11-12 weeks pregnant when we go 🫠 (this is what I get for waiting for our honeymoon 😂)
Fain said, "Oh, we get a song, too," had me dead. 💀😂
Hahaha it was so nice but a little awkward
For the AC its Maintenance issue a lil cleaning will fix that issue call the front desk.
Omg can yall adopt me😂❤..yall are the best..i know yall had a grand time 💯
It was so fun 😊
We met Kevaughn in June. We stayed up top for a few days, then down at the beach (and even got married…it was planned), and then went to Sandals Negril. Great video.
He was awesome!! And good idea to spend half and half!
@ that was our first all inclusive and never been on a cruise. Maybe someday!
As someone that's travelled a TON via all sorts of accomodations, please give Riviera Maya a second chance! Some of the best resorts that I have ever been to have been there, especially for the price! 🙌
Riviera Maya is definitely still on the list!
@@TravelSpreeOfficial Hey yall, loved the vlog! We just returned from "Barceló Maya Riviera - All Inclusive Adults only" and can highly recommend!
Xcaret in Mexico but y’all need a minimum of a week down there. Goals! The likelihood for us is slim but would love to live it through y’all.
Idk what videos I’ve watched or in what order but Fain loves koi ponds as much as Laura love manimals. 😊
You know what, you might be right!
OMG the old school sandals commercial throw backs - same 😂😂😂
One of the most annoying things about moving to Jacksonville for me has been the fact that I have to connect to get so many places.
Having only really lived long term in DC (IAD/DCA/BWI), Miami/FLL, Atlanta, and Boston - it is harder to get to the Caribbean from Jacksonville - basically have to go to Miami, Atlanta, or Charlotte to get anywhere. 😂🤦🏻♀️
Yup! We almost always have a connection flying out of Orlando.
encouragement!
Enjoy and have a good time guys… so excited for you ❤❤
Yeah we didn’t even need to do it bc we didn’t wait long at all to get on the bus! We did try it out on the way back home though
Fain is a lucky man!
They should give you an app that is like a GPS while you are there to show you where you’re at and showing where your going etc. 😊 just my 2 cents.
We had full bottles of liquor in Cancun
I love the theory that the pool has lights in case people fall in. 🤣
@@Sotweetie ooooohh that would made sense
We were in room right beside it
Welcome to my country 🇯🇲
I’m with yall! I hate being hot & sweaty specially when I’m dressed up. Give me climate controlled environments unless: 1) I’m at the pool/beach or 2) I’m doing an outdoor activity like hiking, playing a sport or the like.
But if I’m eating, or drinking, or relaxing I want AC. Unless it’s a climate that it’s 70-75F outside either a breeze & ZERO humidity
the fact georgia has a whole train under it is wild
Lol yup
Maybe next time you can try another Sandals, that is the lowest rated Sandals.
What dates did you guys go?
There is so much to see on Jamaica. For me Sandles is a no go
Note, never turn down upgrades 😊!!
Lmao- for all that you could’ve taken the upgrade. Craziness
