Sending a trade cog to an enemy dock is AoE2 version of a tea bag
Funny thing is, red may not have noticed they weren't demos because the castle fire caused them to sink right in front of the dock similar to how a demo would
I did it on Black Forest. Trade Cog managed to pay for itself 111111111111

I'm convinced 350 elo players have more fun playing this game than I do.
They have imagination. When you get to pro, there is no more imagination, it's set in stone how to play the best way possible.
@@Joe-jc5ol Not totally but for the most part ya
Without a doubt. Games have always been most fun when they're fresh in your head. When you go to work or school and can do nothing but think about gaming.
@@raynightshade8317 Good job saying absolutely nothing 😭
@@Joe-jc5ol when you get to pro lmao, like any of the youtube comment section is n actual progamer
Blue repaired the dock to make sure the shipbuilders weren't going to die of smoke inhalation.
wouldn't want your shipwrights dying from lung cancer, right?

Imagine how much gold you have to pay every year that passes to them and their families
Red be like:
- I remember that glorious days when we dominated the seas...
- Oh you must have had a lot of battleships...
- Well, actually it was castles... But anyway...
Japanese people: What's the difference?
FYI: In Gunkan Machi (Warships' March/March of the Battleships) there's a line comparing warships to 'floating castles made of steel'
"I was astounded that something so big could swim"
guys, don't tell him about whales
Dont tell him about your mom
Lol. Awesome comback
24:55: Regarding repairing things until they're not on fire: Way back in the original AoE2 days (1999-2000 era), I definitely did that as a hold-over from Starcraft, where Terran buildings on fire did in fact keep taking damage until they burned down. Since all AoE2 civs are technically Terran, it made sense to me that the mechanic would translate...
I was going to say the same thing. If I were playing AoE and weren't sure if buildings burned like the Terran ones or not, I might repair them just to be sure.
The game Cossacks had that too. Buildings burned down quite fast after they passed a certain HP threshold.
AoE4 has that mechanic too, so anyone checking out 2 after 4 might be inclined to do it
Sometimes it's not about damage, they just look nicer when they're not on fire lmao
Northgard as well. there's a bunch of games that does this, it's makes sense but not everything needs to make sense lol
Say's the trapped villager is "trying to work" like he's not holding 75 pounds of logs in his outstretched arms with flawless form for minutes straight. I see you villager, I know those gains weren't easy.
For years straight.
My favorite strategy by far was the 3 castle drops on the tiny islands. It looked like something you would do in real life to control a bay like that and stop the enemy from using that sea. When playing the AI, I often try to make cool looking fortress and defense lines just for fun since I know I will win anyway. I was a bit sad that he lost heart just after losing his trade cogs trying to steal money from the enemy ports!
I agree, building cool settlements and defenses is a lot more fun than playing efficiently to win
You're a perfect match to cast low elo players, your personality sounds like a concerned parent worrying that their children have brain damage, but you still love them anyway. It's very wholesome and enjoyable.
Also I love red's houses, he was zoning so much residential land to encourage people to settle in his city for that tourism/culture victory. Wrong game, but solid move. Way to close in on the real estate market early.
🤣
that is a perfect description of t90 lmao
"wrong game, solid move" HAHAHA dead
"worrying that their children have brain damage" Bahahaahha
@@hehe8138 so true 11
This game was a goddamn rollercoaster from start to finish
Forget about 3 archery ranges on neutral island, 3 castles on neutral islands is the new meta!
11
Well, Vietnamese castles train archers, so it's kinda the same.
Ascetically, the castles placement was my favorite. For how funny T90 found it, the trapped villager was. Honorable mentions, the house wall/arena protecting nothing & the two farm eco from Red.
Something not a lot of people know, but that as a map script designer I found out in the scripting docs:
You see that terrain that looks like dried, cracked mud? Any building dropped on that terrain takes 25% more damage when attacked, so you need to avoid building on that if at all possible.
What, really? Any other terraibn types that do this?
@@Frrk Nope, only cracked earth
Are there other maps or scenarios where the earth is used?
my favorite strategy was the take full control of the game make no eco and resign strat. Works every time
Elephants get 6 sets of teeth.
Typically, once they reach adulthood, they live until they've gone through all 6 sets of teeth (they get worn out from their diet), and then die of starvation.
Sorry about the unneeded elephant fact.
Was that not a disconnect? Red had just landed 5 villagers on blue's small island before resigning
Players leaving at the first sign of a rush is extremely understandable. Matches are not always balanced with player skill.
Sometimes you just can't come back from it because the other player is better.
I’ve noticed this as I am just now starting to actually play AoE online. Just using ELO to rank is very annoying. I wish matchmaking would put me against players who don’t have literally 1000 ranked games already. Played against someone who had over 1500 games ***as a single civ***.
Like wtf man. I am on my 14th game EVER online and I’m playing people like that?
But at 350 you have to realize you both suck. I say that, but I'm not any better, I only play against the computer.
The most stupid thing is that you start at 1000 ELO, where the majority of people starting ranked games are around 400/500 ELO
@@johnnyfulton4755 Just make it start at 800. 800 ELO is literally another game compared to 1000 ELO. It's just not fair who just started to play ranked
The whole repairing buildings on fire is probably because in Starcraft ii Terran buildings do take damage over time if they're reduced to below 1/3 hp, with the animation of them on fire.
22:50 - Timestamp for the "lack of urgency" aspect of these guys. I'm trying to laugh quietly so I don't wake anyone up but these fascinating individuals make it really hard. This is like medicine for the soul.
He's not just jacked, he's Lumberjacked
well played!
Tbh, watching games like this one is really wholesome. Makes me think about returning to this great game after years again and also play bad but having lots of fun.
Big
I was watching another video today and you actually had me take an unintentional nap.
I want you to know that.
You: "Some people repair things only until they're not on fire"
0:07 Oooh, islands! Many opportunities to build archery ranges!
OMG! lost it when blue had 10 fishing ships queued and you said time to BOOM BABBY!!!! loved it and love watching T90 Titans League and your other content! Got hooked during the depths of COVID and I can't stop watching! and playing! Thanks so much for all the goods T90!!! No spoiler, but loved how you talked about Alaska in a previous cast! Amazing and beautiful place :) I want to school up there and loved it!
"He is booming in another way" xD
Google: "Though its rare to see them in the water, ostriches have been known to swim in the past"
Just think how cozy and safe those red ships were between three castles.
I've definitely castle-dropped and treb'd from the middle islands against AI, but this is also a fun map to lame if the other player isn't paying attention to their goats. You can swoop in and yoink them as they build their TC.
I did it against real players at like 1000 elo, 2v2, using cheap frankish castles on an islands match. It worked because nobody had access to canon galleons to take the castles down. I had total control over the western portion of the map and used trebs to reach enemy buildings from the neutral islands. It was basically impossible for them to retaliate from the seas because of the sheer number of castles (8 total) and Heated Shots.
Since I had secured boat trades, control of neutral stone and had cheap castles, everytime a castle went down I could instantly rebuild one using villagers garrisoned on these neutral islands. I had the resources. On the other hand, when the enemy lost a treb or a building to my trebs, it was a huge blow.
If you're not facing canon galleons, shit's quite effective tbh.
@@Specoups Especially if you've massed War Galleys, you can quickly snipe any trebs trying to push your castles on the neutral islands, since they lack navy to defend and the trebs are forced close to the shoreline.
@@DaeValarauko Exactly. My teamate basically pressured from the sea doing exactly this, providing galleys that threatened the shores of the dude trying to contest my castles and trebs with trebs of his own.
This forced the enemy player that was not targeted by my area denial efforts to sink his economy further on in purely defensive navy that would serve no purpose other than countering my ally's aggressive navy.
They could somewhat hold that way for a while, but as soon as wood started to become a concern, well you know how it ends. Being forced into defensive playstyles means you cannot win, logically.
The classic "Trading with enemy docks into gg"
You think it would be a good idea to introduce bridges als buildings to build over small rivers (1-4 tiles)?
Vietnam building defensive castles on the island makes me respect him so much. He doesn't go for the brain-dead 2D Strat of offensive castle drop.
He controls the water and the battlefield with strategic island castles. The man is a visionary.
See... people loves LEL
And we need a free for all match of Low elo creating absolute pandemonium in a 3v3 or 4v4
Let's get this done, bring onion layer legend to close everyone with walls, and the ram god sneaking a single ram to the side.
And more unknown delightful entertainment.
Pretty sure red thought his trade cogs were demo ships. Even when he knew about the castle, he sent another one at the dock anyway. And then when it turned around and died instead of exploding, he resigned.
That was a really fun game! Thanks, T90.
in starcraft one of the three civs (Terrans) buildings catch fire when on low HP and slowly burn to death if they arent repaired.
im sure lots of people have said it before and hopefully t90s seen it, but its prolly a good explanation for why some people repair buildings on fire. might come from a casual starcraft background and expecting things to work the same (or muscle memory)
Blue has the resolve of a spartan warrior. Red was quick af to give up when imp dropped.
It's like that one Meme with the Homies in the Store.
"Fuck 3 Archery Ranges on a Neutral Island, All my Homies go 3 Castle Neutral Islands!"
5:34 These are low-bearing fruit, Jerry!
6:50 and you aren't curious about the elephant? LOL
"And Blue is blooming in a more unique way"
That caught me off guard lol
Lol, the "rematch" is pretty much how the first game I played on that map went down
I once read from a meme source that Elephants find Humans adorable, I wanted to believe it but wasn't entirely convinced until I saw a video of a man being swept away by a river current. The way the Elephant rushed into the water to save him reminded me of a person rushing into the water to save a dog.
So add "Elephants find Humans cute the same way we find Dogs and Cats cute" to the list of Elephant facts.
Never thought I'd witness a cog into gg
In regards to the fire thing, when I was young I'd always repair to the point of not on fire to stop the burning sound. XD
The virgin early resignation vs the CHAD sticking it out till the end
Ostriches can in fact swim! The BBC recently used this fact in their documentary Prehistoric Planet to showcase Trex swimming.
Fun fact: large mammals like elephants and horses are great swimmers because their lungs are so large, which makes them surprisingly buoyant!
Horses also can't throw up so they get seasick very easily.

40 eco at 50 mins is literally insane. These guys are fucking amazing.
Loved the rematch, thank you for including the second game!

Why did I find this so damn funny someone please tell me?
We need series that t90 show us low eli legends but he will train them for some time and then he show us rematch betwen them 😂 or some think like that
6:55 Ostrich only fly when you're not watching. It's like quantum mechanics.
Bro said "so no trade?" and proceeded to smash his keyboard on the side of curb probably
"how something that big can swim?" big like a Whale?
Dude he chained castles across the ocean but when those trade cogs were denied, he just couldn't handle.

"I'm not sure how the Ostrich got to the Islands, because they cannot fly."
Meanwhile the elephant just chillin there gets no mention:(
Must be named Dumbo.
must get around during low tide ;)
elephants are very good swimmers. they're the navy seals of the land animals.
Blu produced Longboats. Great move. Blue not researching Longboat upgrades. A disaster. Sigh.😎
Totally hate burning buildings haha. Been playing this game since the 90s and always repair to the point of no flames! Can't stand the noise, it gives me so much anxiety.

"Red has probably heard my tips on Docking."
Oh no.

Murican:"I'll call him Bob."
I really liked Red's strat with the castles on the islands.
Definitely the gold heist. I've never seen that before, had me chuckling on the train
I liked the walled villager joke cause we both thought of it literally at the same time in the video, lmao
Edit:// 3 castles on neutral islands! The meme evolved,LMAO
If learning that something as big as elephants can swim astounded him, just wait until he finds out about whales! T90's head gonna explode.
Didn't expect elephant facts here
2:37 no, actually Tristan from FB chat, you will find that TRISTAN SMELLS!
oh, wait....
*There are other RTS games where buildings on fire continues to cause damage, until repaired or it dies. Starcraft 2 is like this.*
13:20 about facing adversity you have to consider a lot of these players have been through the mill of just losing on the spot because they were too slow or just didn't make enough military, still i agree with players giving up too fast
"We talk about supplies a lot. I'm not even sure at this point if people know what it does." So its the Pot of Greed of AoE?
This has become the favorite map of mine. I send two villagers to one of the main lands to build the town center and send the other to the other side to scout for the goats and use those goats to further scout and take them via transport ships. I try to take as many goats as possible from the other side and then build a dock and a barracks there. Then I add houses on the shore of my main land to have a visibility on the sea and be ready for any landing.
Flood plains flood, man. It's in the name. They could have been stranded.
This is why I love low elo legends. Who cares about sound strategies? Just have fun.
If you think elephants can swim (which they can) look into camels swimming, actually insane.
I wonder if any of the "it's on fire I need to repair" reaction comes from playing Terran in StarCraft 2, because if your building is on fire as Terran it's going to burn down.
Hey T90, I've been your fan for a long time now and I'm surprised you aren't addressing the quite harsh criticism (sellout and such) coming your way because of your switch to FB from twitch. Is there a particular reason for that?
Have you never heard the saying "Don't feed the trolls?"T90 is a smart dude.
Apart from the first few weeks I’m thankfully not seeing a ton of nastiness these days, but maybe I’m wrong and it’s still out there. Sometimes it’s better just to keep your head down & avoid the noise. As much as criticism and what not sucks, in my experience if someone already has a negative opinion of me on the internet, it’s rare anything I do will change much. People can call me what they’d like, I could be wrong but I feel I’ve done enough for the game to not have to defend my love for it. I remember the long nights casting a dead game in my parents attic, when $75 was a big prizepool, and when being full time was a pipe dream. Look at things now!
I love my fans & making content, however my future is never guaranteed as a content creator. I’ve always tried to be very realistic about that. There will be a day I talk about Twitch, MS, and the decision to leave for FB in more detail but today is not that day and I don’t want to burn any bridges. I love my family & want the best for my future, and I love making content & will keep doing my best to entertain. And if you stick around for that journey, then helll yeah!!
@Anarki I recommend watching Masmorra_AoE's 2nd podcast with T90 where he explains this all quite well if you want a more in-depth discussion about what T90 just wrote above.
MICRO GOD @23:13
if the enemy sends more than 2 scouts into my base before im castle age, i resign on the spot lmao
what the h*** was that ending? what? I would never expect that lol. Wait there was an extra at the end thats even better lol
Both of them are good at different things, interesting game.
Red had a nice sense on how to play the map and use the armies, but poor economy.
Blue had nice economy but poor army sense.
Red resigned a won game xd, nice mentality
Btw, the fire destroying buildings is a thing in AoE4
And in Cossacks
In Starcraft, a building goes from green to yellow to red when being attacked. Once it's in red it will slowly burn on its own. If you repair up to yellow it doesn't burn down. Maybe that's what these guys are thinking
When I need some PURE content I come here to your channel. Just to let you know.
I loved Blue's Feudal->3k food boom ->nothing -> castle age strat

"At low elo players don't really understand water". Took me a while to realize the dock even had a second page...
Red doesn't want to kick 5 people out of their home, T90. Have a heart.
7:35 SOTL would gladly give you some more
Castle drops are esthetically pleasing
trading with the enemy sounds so cool, I have to try it
the ending has me cackling
would love seeing more low elo team games
Water battles are beyond me. Unless I massively outnumber them and stomp them down to the point I’m destroying docks before they’re created, I eventually end up losing.
When the first cog didnt work red sent a second cog thinking maybe it would avoid the castle. IDK what he was thinking.
that walled in villager knows how to make people believe you are working but really you are not, we do it all the time in my line of work! (janitor)
