Holy nuts I can't believe that other one is two years old!!! I remember when you uploaded it ahaha. It's funny how tutorials are kinda timeless but your artwork gets better and it's embarassing, I have a few old tuts on dA and I'm like woooow no. This is great though, I feel like drawing braids now :D
That old video was my bible- this is my dream come true :P literally I used to always draw braids in my notebooks and people would be like "oh where'd u learn that" and I'd be like "oh... Well there's this awesome you tuber BAYLEE..." Lol :D
I was making a Queen Elsa cake for my little girls birthday and had no idea how to make the braid. This tutorial was clear, easy to follow, and gave me help I needed to make the cake look fantastic. Thank you so much!
I just started watching your videos, as I've recently become interested in art, and I'd like to say how much I appreciate your style of videos. They all seem to teach as you go through your steps, as opposed to just having your viewers watch you. Tfs your talent!
I noticed on the Elsa drawing that you used a thicker braid. Elsa is meant to have thicker hair because the animators gave her somewhere around 400,000 individual hairs when an average human has around 100,000. Anna has less than Elsa, but not too less. I think she's around 350,000, but I don't exactly remember how many she has, so correct me if I'm wrong. Basically, what this boils down to is when you draw animated characters, it helps if you do a little backup research for a reference. I don't know if you knew this, but I think it was cool either way.
OMG thank you so much, I'm very proud of my braids! I just wanted to say how much I love your videos, your more fun and positive to watch, and it's helping my improve my drawings. The first video I watched was the blindfold challenge with Elsa, and I was very interested in the copic markers, so explored your channel. I ended up watching them for advice and just for fun, and I'm noticing how much I improved. And for the copic markers, they are on my wishlist for Christmas and my birthday! Thank you so much!
I love, love, love this tutorial. I have a character who has a braid off to her left shoulder, and I never really draw her, because I could never do the braid. Thank you sooooo much for sharing your techniques!!
Thank you so much for explaining about the tightness of the braid and the angles of the middle! That is going to help me so much! Haha, when you were talking about the tapering at the end of the braid, after the elastic, it reminded me of when I had long hair and would braid it. It always divided into two ends, and I always got annoyed at it. Good times.
I learned how to draw braids because of your old video! The zigzag technique makes it so much easier. I'm happy you did this update tho because I did think the other braids were super stiff. Seriously it's a brilliant trick
hey nice tutorial helped me a lot i am an anime drawer and i get bored of drawing the same hair but not plated and currently was looking for how to draw braids you are the only youtuber that helped me to draw my braids thx i appreciate it alot
This is just GREAT! I just came by to say thank you for the tutorial. I saw the other one you made and it was great start for me because I find braids very difficult (I'm a beginner student) and now I can finally do it. This video complements the other one very well.
Felis Lee well, im helping you a bit **cough** 2 years later... But the way I do it is i just draw the braids but the sides arent connected to each other, and are blended into the head
Amazing imformative video. You just made something that looks intimidating simple for anyone. Just recently found your channel a few months ago and love. You go indepth with your videos and break stuff down
I watched your channel for the past 2 or something years before i made a channel and i always wanted to sub you back then. I remember the blindfold challenge when you drew spongebob. LOL

Baylee Jae I love drawing. I have been thinking that I need new hair styles.you helped me be a better artist.I want to write a story and now I can make my characters have beautiful hair
I usually do acute angles for loose braids and it looks more stretched out at the sides rather than the bottom, which I like. I love your drawing, both of your braid videos are in my watch later so I can find it XD
the first time I drew a braid was when I was at a restaurant with my family and I looked at a small braid i had on and thought, "I wanna draw this." So I did the zig-zag and made my first braid.
I draw braids a lot, and I've been a fan of braids for a long time, I'd already drawn someone like Elsa before it ever came out, I like the way they animated her hair. Anyway, I liked your tutorial, I've never thought of doing zigzags before, great job, keep practicing and enjoy it!
