- EPISODE 16 | Today, we are attempting the most highly requested Mario Maker challenge. We are taking on the 1000 expert no-skip challenge....minus 900 levels lol. We are doing the DGR version called, the 'Hunt for 100' which is the same version as many of the Mario Maker greats are doing, just in a style more fitting to my abilities! I hope you will join me on this long and challenge journey!

Dave won't understand that the trick to hold the run for as long as possible isn't getting well-designed levels, but getting short and easy levels!
No lol you don’t get lives in those or coins
I mean you don't get a choice in level's anyway, since it is no skip, so if there are any tricks to keeping it alive, it is rather taking it slow and steady (unless its a speedrun level or similar ofc)
@@daniell5740, sometimes you do get the chance for coins and 1-ups in short levels, but well-designed levels don't always give you 3 1-ups.

@@GummieI, true! But Dave becomes instantly happy whenever he finds a very good kaizo level, and when he finds a level without anything interesting in it besides coins and 1-ups, he doesn't have an interesting reaction.

“I can farm for lives here” dies multiple times and would’ve gained the exact same amount of lives at the end when it eliminated all the enemies…
@@markabel5479 But he didn't die BECAUSE he was trying to farm for lives is my point. From how I saw it, those deaths were completely unrelated.

I always laugh when I watch there runs. The man can beat the hardest lvls there are in these runs usually in 1-2 shots. But the super easy ones it takes 3-4 lives to win. DGR is his own worst enemy when playing those levels as he expects them to be some hidden surprise when they are straight forward. 🤣
Levels in _Candy Crush_ can be the same way sometimes. I have had instances where I beat a really hard level in one try but it took at least three life refills for an easy one

I feel like I’ve seen some of these levels in Panga’s or GPB’s runs. Especially that “fast pipes” level.
Dave's skills in SMM2 have really improved and it's awesome! I love this series.

Nintendo should really make the clear conditions like, take up the entire screen before the level starts so you know what to expect. Just like, before you play the level, it’s the first thing you see. Idk I just think it’d be harder to miss the clear condition if it was shown to you in an obnoxiously obvious way.
Maybe with an alarm sound to really let you know.
Lets all agree that Dave gets some of the easiest Expert levels. I feel like when i play Expert its like 19 red coins and the pit of doom with a twist of hidden kizo blocks.

That wasn’t iggy it was Lemmy. Let me help you out Dave ………Lemmy is the small on with the circus balls. Iggy is the “crazy one with “plant like hair”. Larry is just standard one with blue hair. Roy you probably know has glasses, Morton has a star and is dark and big. Ludwig has big flowy dArk blue hair and sometimes flys above you. And Wendy is the girl( don’t see anyone mixing her up)
I'm pretty sure he messes up the names intentionally by this point lol
Some of these Mario Maker 2 levels reminds me of the old game genie for super Nintendo using it on the All Stars Mario with Super Mario world and inputting crazy multiplying codes and other simple glitches into it

There were a couple of great music sync moments, one was 7:15 where the thwomps bang together at the last note of the GGG introduction, the other was a death but can't find it
7:08 that is a great level it reminds me of Indiana Jones some of the thwamps movements and the swings

By far my favorite series by Dave! Once you get that 100 you gotta do the Hunt for 200 and eventually 1,000

"The power of friendship" is a fairly common cartoon phrase/"moral". However, the Galarian Ponyta came about because the then-current (not sure if the show ended) MLP series was named/subtitled "friendship is magic", with the friendship theme being _really_ hammered in.

I was thinking about difefrent kinds of runs, and why not dedicate some days for a big puzzle level or 2? I like thinking -and seeing someone else fail in doing so- and that'd make our brains work a bit.
