I have a Sovereign 2 (RP25A),which I purchased a few years ago but only now getting around to use and enjoy. On researching this model,I have only found battery powered versions. Mine is a mains supply only. It's in beautiful condition, with a rich, deep tone, but only able to pick up radio stations on vhf. Medium and Long wave only give wails and whistles across the range. I am not a radio buff,so I was wondering if there's a fault,or is it down to my (hilly) location? Enjoyable vid,by the way.

They were always 18 volt sets with battery only - I also have a rp25a some very late rp25b had a factory power jack in the side of the cabinet but many have been converted post manufacture

Hackers only go to 101 because at the time they were made police band radios were at the top of VHF so 101-108 mhz
Some hackers did go to 108 I think it was later consort and aviemore and that was when the police bands no longer used those frequencies

I have an Aviemore (there is a video about it on the channel and it goes a bit higher than the older Hackers, to 104, but that still misses a couple of stations in this area.
