@@strikingforce3210atmosphere-wise, it’s absolutely Jissoji, but if you come to it hoping for a lot of the distinct cinematography from his 60s/70s work, it feels a lot more subdued in comparison
I like that, even after a giant, fire-breathing monster appears out of nowhere, a character is still skeptical about the existence of aliens. That, and the blatant rip-off of Akiro Ifukube's 'Godzilla' theme music.
She's not really a fighter, I'd guess. A killer sure, but not a fighter. I can imagine her usual victims just standing in shock. Plenty of time to line up a shot. Meanwhile, our characters are running around and could resist.

この作品はとても奥が深く、現代社会に何かを、伝えるメッセージを感じます。

この映画はリアルタイムで観た。実相寺監督はウルトラQを撮っていなかったので、やってみたいとのことで後年メガホンを取った。リアルタイムで観た時よりも、深い意味があることに気付いた。日本の古代史がテーマなのだが、この当時では、「古事記」「日本書紀」がメインだったと思う。現代2025年現在では、偽書との評価ではあるが、「ホツマツタエ」「竹内文書」「カタカムナ文書」「ウエツフミ」「九神文書」「ミカサフミ」「富士高天原朝史」等の古文書の研究により、また縄文遺跡の発見発掘、巨石文明遺跡等の世界的研究により、この映画の話が、単なるフィクションでないことを思う。実相寺監督は、そのことを知っていたのだろうか？日本の古代史の研究者は、多くいるが、特に「杣浩二」（そまこうじ）、「武内一忠」（古代文字、ペトログリフ）の研究者の二人は、特筆すべき人物である。「霊魂」「宇宙」超古代文明」は全て繋がっており、今年2025年から公に明らかになって行くと思う。今はもう鬼籍の人となられたが、この感想を実相寺昭雄監督に心から捧げて、遺徳を偲びたい。

ウルトラシリーズでは最初のウルトラQが一番好きでした。でもわざわざ現実に引き戻すだけの一平のキャラクターは邪魔でした🤓

怪獣部分をなくして、異星人と、遮光器土偶ロボットを中心に、あまり派手でない展開で、同僚の失踪と、謎の連続殺人の真相を追っていく。真相がやっとわかった時点て、ロケット発射！みたいな話が、良かった気はするけど…
でも、映画って、スポンサーとか、いろんな人の意向を、盛り込まなくてはいけないらしいから、まあ、このくらいの出来でも、仕方ないのかもねぇ…
結局、言いたかったのは、
"遺跡を観光地化するな"～的な、
これだから邦画はいつまで経ってもダメだな～という感想。
そんな怪獣操作や科学技術や超能力あるのに、ロケットで噴射して出発するという、
反重力の宇宙船でフワッと飛び立つのでよかったやろと言いたくなる。
これ、公開当時客足が伸びなくて途中から旧作の「1/8計画」と「五郎とゴロー」との抱き合わせになったんだっけ？
