G'day mate. So good to hear that. I've met some kiwis who absolutely hate the place and spend hours telling me how much better NZ was ,to which I reply, " why are you wasting my time telling me, flights back to NZ are pretty cheap."
There is absolutely no doubt that NZ is also a beautiful country but I'm a proud Aussie and I'll gladly welcome anyone who wants to be here as long as they want to relax and enjoy the place and act in a decent manner. It's sad really as New Zealand and Australia have been like family for over 100 years. We may not always see eye to eye but that's family for you. Anyway please keep living your best life and enjoying what Australia has to offer as the place is better for having you here. Every country has its pros and cons but you seem like a glass half Full type of person which is exactly the type of person we all want to be around. Not sure where in Oz you are mate but Best wishes from sunny Queensland 😊😊

You also find making friends difficult, well join a sporting club or a group of something that takes your interest - have you even really tried?
Are you sure that you're not the issue? I ask that because you seem to have a fair bit to whinge about.

@@roslynjonsson2383 Because you don't see it. How can you say Australia isn't racist when the Voice went the way it did. Many Australians think this place is perfect and have no self reflection on the reality. Even as a Brit I get casual racist comments, let alone someone with different coloured skin. I grew up in London in the 80s/90s. I came here in 1994 with a mate of mine. We couldn't believe the attitudes here. It's better now, but what many think is fine, to a Londoner is unacceptable. Your experience is your experience and I'm happy it seems to not include racism. But The Voice, as an example of inclusiveness, showed how reluctant Australians are to give first nations any small amount of power. Maybe you have road tinted specs?
And as I said, the healthcare is great. It's not as expensive as the US, but it's definitely getting unaffordable for many. And the tax system penalises you for not having private health. Which gets more expensive every year and they reduce cover slowly but surely. I don't blame Australia for that. Private insurance companies are a scam.
There are many great things about Australia, but as a immigrant, this video is pretty good.

Racism isn't the only thing you were complaining about though, and you seem very unhappy with your life here.
I'm almost 60 mate, and spent most of my life around, and learning from all walks of life - what I'm saying to you is, if Perth isn't for you, then why stay here when you've got many alternatives here in Australia - try Albany's cooler/damper weather (my ex in laws RIP, were also Pomms, and moved to Albany to retire) or try Tassie or Geelong, where they have much milder weather than we do. The health care issue is garbage. I have MS, and my neurologist is the best in WA, he works 1 day a week in a private hospital for private patients, 4 days a week in the public hospital. It doesn't cost me a cent, and yet our government spends over $76 grand per year on my monthly infusions, to keep me alive. Plus we have the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), which provides me domestic help 10hrs per week, transport for all medical appointments, mental health professional if needed, a qualified MS nurse if my symptoms start acting up, and more, all free.
So you can put this NON Australian's perspective in the bin, it's rubbish.
If you can't afford private health insurance, then you just use the public system, only real difference is you can choose your dr and can have a private room if you have private insurance. Other than that, our public system is fantastic

I also have MS. My medication costs me $6.70 per month, $28.50 when I am working (full price is $1,083.44 per month). I have one MRI and one neurologist appointment a year. Both are free. My NDIS plan allows me to have someone clean my flat once a fortnight and subsidies my exercise programs even though I work full-time. Because of the Australian government's health care system and having access to subsidised medication, I haven't relapsed for over 22 years. We have one of the best public health systems in the Western world. Racism exists everywhere and is a part of the entire colour spectrum not just white + "insert minority", that said many people choose to be offended by the Aussie sense of humour and our penchant for taking the piss out of everyone including ourselves, it is this same taking the piss that will ingratiate you to Australians as a friend as it demonstrates that A.) you have a sense of humour, B.) you don't take yourself to seriously.
Internet is not as bad as this makes out, when the National Broadband network was first completed it was an issue as connections from node to house/business were not fibre, it was a cost cutting measure to control/mitigate costs blowouts. There have been partial upgrades available and as far as I'm aware Fibre to the home/business is now being rolled out were practical to do so. Also it should be noted that Australia's mobile broadband has been hovering around the top ten, 12th last time I looked. Just imagined the time and cost involved in supplying just under half the UK population over a distance some 20x bigger with a High speed fibre connection, the economics just doesn't work.

The internet 10 years ago was planned to have fibre to every house enabling up to 1,000 mbps. Then the libs got in power and the bozo in charge decided to change the optic fibre to the house, free of charge, mind you to fibre to the footpath and the old copper line into the house.
If anyone wanted fibre to the house it would come for most at between $3,000, and $5,000 depending on where you lived. Then to add salt to the wound, they sacked the Aussie company that would lay the cable to a Chinese company that came in with poor quality fibre and then stole our phone number and sold them overseas.
They hacked our main Telstra computer and that's why the whole world now gets scam calls. Not to mention all of Telstra's phone centres were closed and they used one in India not realising the one they used belonged to the biggest hackers and scammers of the world.
Bureaucracy at its finest. Not to mention the Federal government uses Telstra’s computer, never saw that one coming. All our pollies need to be lined up and s*&t.

Added to that I have Never heard of anyone on the public health system being denied treatment for anything, which was implied by that dude.
As for the Aboriginal peoples being over represented in prisons, yes there is a serious problem, I'm no expert but a lot is fuelled by alcohol and drug issues, then there is the issue of what to do with someone who breaks the law, should they be sentenced by the law courts which is supposed to be impartial? Should they be released without punishment? Somewhere along the road people have to take personal responsibility for their actions and face the consequences of their wrongdoing.

There is less racism in Australia than you will find anywhere in Europe, the UK, Middle East, Asia and North America. But a certain class of =wanker will see an Australian uttering a racial slur as the same as the murder and oppression of ethnic and religious minorities in Asia and the Middle East, tribal warfare in Africa, the burning of migrant apartments in Germany, the Balkans War, the KKK and the wave of antisemitism sweeping the first world. Left with none of this they make a big deal over the drunk on a train telling an Indian to go back to where he came from or the tiny bunch of pathetic thugs that make up our Neo-nazis. This week the media went crazy on an indigenous player being called a monkey. Less mentioned was the perpetrator being a NZ born man of Samoa descent who plays for Samoa internationally, not Australia.
To me the worst interracial violence in Australia are the African gangs of Melbourne who target hardworking Chinese people as soft targets with plenty of desirable possessions. That follow them home and smash their way into their homes. That is ethnic profiling by criminals

Racism is everywhere in all countries, I've heard England USA and the EU are just as bad. I know USA is because I visited and some smaller towns don't like strangers despite being tourist destinations ie: WInslow AZ. As for dangerous animals, We dont have bears, Rattlesnakes, or big cats. So no more dangerous than some other countries. As for healthcare, depends on the state health system. In WA Most Life saving procedures are covered. Private is for line jumping and extra things like tummy tucks etc.

The irony is that Australia is where internet was invented - I live in rural Victoria and have no other option than to have Satellite internet $139pm. With racism I think it’s no different to anywhere else, no matter where you live there will always be that 1 moronic person that ruins for everyone else, but the diversity in this country is amazing. It’s only the private insurance that’s insane. If you don’t have it before age 30 you pay 2% for every year over 30 that you get it so if you get private health cover at 35 you pay a 10% premium surcharge. At the moment we pay $1.95 per litre for petrol

We don't have to have private health cover, but if you don't you pay a Medicare surcharge. Don't know what that is. Medicare doesn't cover everything and you have no choice of doctor for specialist items, etc. My private health as a single person just went up to $288.20 a month.

    1. The internet is poorly rated internationally but this makes it sound way worse than it is. The construction of the National Broadband Network was botched and it ended up taking too long and costing more than it should, and whether you got a fibre connection depended on where you live. But honestly, it’s in the ‘could be better’ category, not the ‘actually crap’ one.
    2. Nonsense on stilts. Aussies are mostly lovely, even to us Poms.
    3. I’m a white guy so I can’t speak to this, but probably everywhere has a share of racist tools. Usually a small but very noisy majority.
    4. The wildlife thing is so overblown it’s funny. Almost all of it will leave you alone if you leave it alone. But it does make for good bants.
    5. The healthcare is great. The private health insurance is basically BUPA and so on, just like the UK. Public health, or Medicare, is basically like the NHS but in my personal experience both better and cheaper on the public purse.
6 & 7. I don’t feel isolated in a city of 4.5 million. Maybe if I moved to Betoota or something. It’s a 24 hour flight back to London, which is long but you get used to it after a couple of return trips. Internal flights aren’t outrageous and the state capitals have decent public transport. I paid $1.80 a litre for petrol yesterday, or about 95p.
    8. From talking to my family back in the UK the cost of living rises here isn’t all that different. What my sister had to pay for a semi in outer London is more outrageous than a similar place here would be, and it seems like utility bills the world over have gone up.
I don’t know where this guy’s getting his info but it doesn’t at all feel like the Australia I emigrated to.

Who is this guy. He speaks so much rubbish. Public Health Care is brilliant and is rated one of the best in the world. I have a chronic health condition requiring regular infusion treatments at a cost of $150 000 per yr, all paid for by the public health systems. Yes private insurance is expensive but that is because such a low % of the population has taken it up due to the public system being so good. Cost of living is high but so is wages. Minimum wage for unskilled workers is $23per hr, one of the highest in the anglosphere. As for racism, mine is a mixed marriage and we have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Closest the children, their father, & grandchildren have come to experiencing racism is being occasionally asked ' where are you from' which is not an unusual question in a country full of migrants Many of which only arrived in the last decade. There is currently a housing crisis due to the flood of Middle East refugees, asylum seekers (Australia isolation did not exempt us) and the current governments high legal migrant intake policy, being 1million in the current yr. Energy cost are high now because of current governments climate policies. We, within Australia, are having fossil fuels limited 'to save the planet' while we are exporting energy overseas. Yes the cost of living is high now. Much of that is due to shutting down the economy for 2yrs, high immigration, stretching current infrastructure and resources to its limits, government high spending and energy limitations because of 'climate policies'.
