What women don't understand is that when men meet with their best male friend it's like taking a break from everything else. Why would we have difficult discussions during that break? So we do stuff that takes our mind off things. It's as easy as that.
Guys are really chill and believe that if you dont bring up that you have an issue then youre in a good spot. The lack of issues means you have a pretty good handle on them if you do have them. Me and my bros have a system of one bro tells another bro hey man I need help within 12 hrs depending on distance from of course there's at least 10 of there one of my friends lost his house in a tornado and about 20 of us showed up and in less than 2 weeks we had rebuilt his house and between us we had all the necessary credentials for the job from the foundation to the roof surprised his wife when she found out he payed us in burgers beer and cigarettes it cost him a bit but that's what bros do for each other we always have each others backs even if we're not there physically

My son went to a wedding in Florida and got stuck at the Denver airport because of a winter storm. He needed to be at work the next morning, so his old friend, who lived in Denver, picked him up and drove him 250 miles and turned around and drove straight back to be at work himself. I remember them giggling over the silliest things when they were boys.
As a man, so many people put so much stress and pressure on you with all their problems, being with your guy friends is a momentary reprieve. I love my homies and if they were really in the shit and needed my help, I would do all I could for them. But we don't drop our petty problems on top of each other. When women are with friends, they often unwind by venting. When men are with friends, we want to unwind by not thinking for awhile. Which isnt to say men dont have deep conversations. But a lot of the time it's more refreshing to have said conversations about things that interest us, and not about things that are continually stressing us out.

They can literally come over, sit on opposite sides of my couch, sip beer and eat pizza, only open their mouths to say which song we should listen to next, and that was a great hang out.
Facts. I'll show up to my best friend's house, sometimes we won't even say "what's up" to each other. Just put on some music, pour a drink, plop on the couch or start making a fire... sometimes it's 30 minutes before someone even starts talking. Sometimes longer if I start splitting wood or something 😂 You don't always have to talk to hang out.
I'm a girl and have a lot of guy friends (mostly because of my major and clubs in college). I love hanging out with them because of this. It's always laughter and messing with each other. It has also given me more of a backbone being with them because I know they are just joking around when they make fun of me. It has helped me process bad experiences better and be able to laugh at them rather than be trapped by them.
I admire male friendships for what they are, although I’m sure they’re all different. I like being in friendships with other women and enjoying the depth I usually get and give in them. 😊
A lot of the time the relationships are very similar the only main difference is how long the friendship has existed that makes most of the difference of the strength of the bond
There is plenty of depth to male friendships too. For example, if my friend says "hey I need you to come back me up, so I don't get jumped while I square off with this guy" I would be there without hesitation. For men, it is less about what is said, and more about what is done.

My coworkers are all friends from having worked together here and other places together. Their jokes are entirely dependent on roasting each other, making each other go "find stock" when we don't actually have it and pretending to fight each other. 😂 Their friendship is so wholesome. I'm in a group with my hubby, his best friend and best friends wife. The guys talk more in the group, saying positive things like "kick ass today, you got this!" or "not feeling so hot today but looking forward to later!" and replies of "here if you wanna chat", and no they're not gay, it's pretty cool to witness a healthy male friendship.
My son went to a wedding in Florida and got stuck at the Denver airport because of a winter storm. He needed to be at work the next morning, so his old friend, who lived in Denver, picked him up and drove him 250 miles and turned around and drove straight back to be at work himself. I remember them giggling over the silliest things when they were boys.
As a man, so many people put so much stress and pressure on you with all their problems, being with your guy friends is a momentary reprieve. I love my homies and if they were really in the shit and needed my help, I would do all I could for them. But we don't drop our petty problems on top of each other. Its all about the pleasure of being with someone and all your about is having a laugh.

Me and one of my best buddies back in high school would start laughing at something then just continue laughing at each others laughs for the next 10 minutes. It was awesome.

When women are with friends, they often unwind by venting. When men are with friends, we want to unwind by not thinking for awhile.
Which isnt to say men dont have deep conversations. But a lot of the time it's more refreshing to have said conversations about things that interest us, and not about things that are continually stressing us out.

I have two guy best friends and they really are like that. They don't start conversations or ask each other questions. I talk and talk and they listen, make short comments and jokes. They can literally come over, sit on opposite sides of my couch, sip beer and eat pizza, only open their mouths to say which song we should listen to next, and that was a great hang out.

Facts. I'll show up to my best friend's house, sometimes we won't even say "what's up" to each other. Just put on some music, pour a drink, plop on the couch or start making a fire... sometimes it's 30 minutes before someone even starts talking. I'm a girl and have a lot of guy friends (mostly because of my major and clubs in college). I love hanging out with them because of this. It's always laughter and messing with each other. It has also given me more of a backbone being with them because I know they are just joking around when they make fun of me. It has helped me process bad experiences better and be able to laugh at them rather than be trapped by them.

A lot of the time the relationships are very similar the only main difference is how long the friendship has existed that makes most of the difference of the strength of the bond
There is plenty of depth to male friendships too. For example, if my friend says "hey I need you to come back me up, so I don't get jumped while I square off with this guy" I would be there without hesitation. For men, it is less about what is said, and more about what is done.

We have enough complexity in our life with juggling bills, busting our butts for ourselves and those we care about, and navigating the expectations of being emotionless shields for others.
