Scott, great job as always! He is not a freshman, but Gaston Moore, TN QB 3, is an awesome player who needs some love. In a shootout of VOL QB's , trying to hit the goal post from I think it was the 50 yard line, Gaston and Milton hit it on the first try, but Nico missed haha. Give Gaston some love, he is very talented, and has been waiting in the wings for a long time. I think he was a preferred walk on. He is very good! Thanks for all you do!
So true. People forget Gaston Moore has been around Heupel and staff the longest dating back to his recruitment by Heupel at UCF. In the Spring Game he used his arm and leg speed very well and made great decisions with the ball. He's an under the radar guy and imo, could start at any SEC school. I think also, Gaston really prefers the Tempo Spread offense and if isn't drafted, he's a sure in for a NFL tryout camp could get to the next level this way. I believe he is that good. Hope we get to see him some as well this season.
I truly believe hes the most talented freshman QB in the nation! Even better than Arch Manning Dante Moore and all the other top Recruits. A year behind Joe Milton to get stronger and master the offense will do him wonders 💪🏼
Idk why but I felt Nico was going to end up in Oregon. I guess because he's a west coast kid. For the longest I didn't even want to "tease" myself and analyze some of his hs film. Then he committed to UT. I was still very skeptical but came around to watch some of his tape and was blown away. After that I was sure he wasn't coming to Tennessee. Then he actually signed. Shocked. I follow many Vols insiders and fan pages etc. My favorite of the Tennessee content I follow had their player analysist on during spring practice. He said something along the lines that was not only the most impressive incoming freshman during spring practices but might've been the most impressive player on the field period. Pretty high praise considering our current roster.
Until we get more elite players to surround this quarterback at the skill positions Nico is going to be an equalizer because of his athleticism. If we can make a grand stand throughout this season by continuing to have a great season with what we got at the skill positions we're going to get to finally get those elite talents we've been looking for in recruitment. Tennessee has got to continue to win the big games in order to move the needle in recruitment though and I believe that they can! GBO
UT has outstanding players at skill positions this year. WR's McCoy, Thornton were both highly touted players coming out of high school, Squirrel White has already proven he has the potential to be Hyatt 2.0, can't forget about Ramel Keyton who was also highly touted coming out of high school, didn't see much playing time until last year and absolutely balled out. He had huge catches that turned the point of some games. The RB room is deeper than it's been in 10 years. Small an all around back, Wright just a big play waiting to happen, Sampson is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball, they'll all share the load is year and combine to have over 2,000 yds rushing. True fresh Cam Seldon is going to be an absolute stud, at 6'2" 220lbs he has the strength and size to run people over but also the speed to just run by you. Khalifa Keith will be great in short yardage situations, he's a 230lbs bowling ball who has great potential. TE's you have Warren and Castles who are both older and will be relied on for the most of the load. True freshmen Ethan Davis, whos 6'5" and runs like a WR, will get a lot of playing time this year and will be a mismatch machine for the Vols. 8 out of 12 of the players I mentioned we're 4* coming out of high school. McCoy was a 5* and Seldon a 5* at one point. Several of the others we're high 4* in the top 150 of the country. LOL sorry for the long post but UT does have skill players this year, in abundance.
omg my fingers are crossed. If JM can learn to put touch on the ball when touch is needed, not become the "overthrow Joe" like a lot of people call him. Then I think he definitely has the potential to do something great his last season at UT. If Heupel can't fix his accuracy and decision issues then no-one can.
