Sometimes you go out with a vision of achieving a certain image, and you come back empty-handed. It's a frustrating experience for any landscape photographer, but if you don't make the effort you'll never achieve the shot.
I head out to the local common in Hartley Wintney during the windy storm Dennis hoping to get a nice minimalist shot of some silver birch trees, but after a frustrating few hours I return home. Showing the failures is as important as showing the successes - photography is not as simple as a highlight reel of great photographs.

I love the adventures and story that leads in the run up to your photos and the way you describe the journey and process. If you got a fantastic photo every time that would perhaps take away from the experience of it all. Life's about the journey, not just the destination 😊
