That Postie turned out really nice in the flat matte black. Actually looks a lot better than the standard Honda Red. Can't wait to see it with all the baggage.
What a fun idea to turn the postie bike into an adventure bike. Looking good so far. Didn't realize Manheim was international...I've got one 15 minutes from me in Wisconsin, USA.
Im looking forward to watching your trip on the GREAT OCEAN ROAD. I know it'll be a good one. Your lawn looks the same as mine, straw. Hope to get some rain soon Temp is 42 today.
Looks pretty sharp in black. Looking at picking up.an old ct90 myself. No postie bikes ober here in the states but they are very similar. I think I'd havr had to go with red tank and wheels for that rat rod look but all matte is nice too. Have fun with that beast. Stay safe out there mate.
G'Day mate, thanks and great to hear you had a great time on the trip. Yeah I ride a Boulevard C50 (800cc) so I'm gunna be wishing for more power... definately!! I like your thinking about not being stuck behind caravans LOL :-) Cheers... Mark
Well done! The finish on that has come up really good! I've just got back from my Great Ocean Road trip, and it was great. I can tell you for a fact that you would be wishing for more power on a postie bike! I had my little 250cc Honda wound out to full throttle for most of the trip. I suppose if you're only going at 80km/h on the postie bike, then you won't have to worry about getting stuck behind caravans!
G'Day Neil, LOL the poor little postie has not benefited speed wise from the matt black, but he is love'n the new look. Rekon's he might pickup a cute little girl postie out on the road :-) Cheers Mark
Hi mate, love the matt black, really suits the bike! nice shiny engine as well. personaly I would've left he exhaust guard chrome (just an iconic thing), but still looks great!
Considering you was just using 'rattle cans' bloody good finish on that mate. They're great tuff little bikes them, dunno if you've heard of a fella called Nathan Millward, rode one from Oz to Uk, through Malaysia, Pakistan and all that, took him about 6 months and the only breakdown was a puncture, ... now try that on a GS Like yer thinkin' on gettin one . bargain . Wish you could buy them here.
G'Day Charles, thanks mate... yeah it turned out great, i didn't know if I was going to crap it out or not so I'm a very happy man! :-) Hopefully this weekend I can get the next bit done :-) Cheers... Mark
G'Day Geordie, thanks mate... I do remember seeing something called etch primer at Bunnings, I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the Pro Tip mate. Cheers... Mark
G'Day Andrey, thanks mate glad you're enjoying them. I have a lot of fun making them and it's great to know that other people enjoy them too. :-) Cheers... Mark
Thanks mate, LOL yeah I thought the same thing as I was working on the postie and every now and then I'd look over to Harry :-) but it's all good, as I promised him we would go down soon and do the full Great Ocean Road ride soon. He'll love getting some ocean breeze running through him. :-) Cheers... Mark
Idk, if ya remember a few days ago when I asked if ya could send me a Honda CT90 to the states? Lol. I found it! A '73 Honda CT90 with 3306 Miles. I leave tomorrow night for a 7 hr drive to pick it up. 👍😁👌 I'm soo excited
G'Day mate, Thanks and powder coating would be the best option, but I'm trying to keep it cheap, simple and DIY. "The Poor Mans Adventure Bike" :-) Cheers... Mark
Those polished cases look amazing! Did you do the front forks too? Did you just use autosol or did you need to remove the silver paint with something first?
You've nailed the bike as a "he" whatever floats your boat mate... I prefer riding females ;) Shame about the speed benefits, I was certain black would make it go faster. :P I bought a can of "fast black drying paint" I figured it was better than the non-drying paint ... didn't notice a speed increase either, but it did dry.
This bike looks killer! How's the export paint holding up? I picked up one recently and it has a couple scuffs and scratches so been wanting to paint it for a while.
Yeah, my boulevard is named Harry... a mate I go on adventures with! :-) So the same goes for the postie (no name as yet) I've got an awesome woman at home that I ride ;-) and it dosen't seem right that I'm riding other women :-) LOL "fast black drying paint" bloody false advertising! :-)

You need to fit some hiway pegs on the front forks. Then you can steer with your feet while rolling a cig
G'day mate, thanks heaps! :-) Cheers... Mark

This bike looks killer! How's the export paint holding up? I picked up one recently and it has a couple scuffs and scratches so been wanting to paint it for a while.
