If you get a bluebird day with low wind and highs of ~8⁰ C or ~45⁰F, anyone who sees this should think about kicking it old school. Warm socks, base layer, jeans, T shirt, Jacket (sweater, jersey, or plaid buttonups are also acceptable), light gloves, sunglasses, and helmet. Skiing in jeans is definitely a vibe and it's fun when it's a nice day, liberating even. Save the heavier gear for cold days. Just don't forget the sunblock. I promise you'll turn heads. I seem to be the only person in Colorado who still skis in jeans on warm days and I always turn heads. The jeans alone will be conversation starters. The lifties will remember you too cause you'll be the only one out there dressed casually.
Great question, Luke. Boots can vary depending on your needs. Check out this article on choosing downhill ski boots: www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/alpine-ski-boots.html
I picked out fleece lined base layer sets that say they are moisture wicking. Will that be ok, we’re going to obergatlinberg 20-30*F. We have 2 first time downhill skiers and I haven’t been in 20+ years
Thank you! I’m going on a trip, and it’s my first time, so this is very helpful! :)

Do I need snow pants if I am hiking at Rocky Mountains in April? What temperature requires snow pants?
Would a fleece thermal suffice as a base layer or wool is better?
Merino wool is base layer fleece is usually a mid layer as it isn’t too sweat wicking
This was helpful :)

What's the name of that Patagonia down jacket? Do you recommend down-jackets under ski jackets?
So I can use my fishing rain gear
Would say fine if waterproof, tight fit around waist and has quality zips to stop cold air entering at speed.
