  • Literacy opens the door to the world for individuals who rely on AAC by supporting the freedom to say anything they wish to participation in education and social media. However, literacy was a just dream for many AAC users in the past because of prevailing beliefs that communication skills were a prerequisite to literacy intervention and that severe speech impairment precluded literacy learning. Today, research and experience refute these beliefs, but many still struggle with how to facilitate literacy development.
This session is led by Bethany Diener, MS, CCC-SLP, Clinical Assistive Communication Manager at Tobii Dynavox.
Join us to explore evidence-based strategies to address literacy learning with learners who have severe communication impairment!
