I bought Harris Tweed for my rough a year ago, eventually plucked up the will power to put a single piece roof back in with the tweed lined. A lot of hard work but does look great.
Brilliant guys, that'll definitely be a godsend for trips. Cal you done a cracking job on the internal fit out, really well done. So the max fax deluxe is the hokey cokey of ventilation, sucks air in out, in out, and moves it all about 😂 😂 Sorry couldn't resist that one. Hope you have a great week and Best wishes and stay safe and well to you all and your families ❤️ 💙 ❤️ 💙 ❤️ oh yeah and Rufus is looking absolutely adorable, proper littke cutie 🐾
I admire your honesty guys. You two are the typicl product of not doing research first. However self building camper vans is a learning curve and I'm glad you've put this video up. I will definatley be looking into buying one of those vents for my other conversion. Keep up the good work. By the way if you need some budget captain seats get intouch.👍
Thanks Alwyn! This wasn't our first mistake, and I doubt it'll be the last :P but we've managed to learn from each mistake along the way. However, we're really happy with the fan itself, it works a treat. A worthwhile investment for sure :D
Hi you 3. Another great video. Your production skills are spot on. I'm learning slowly. There will always be improvements to be made along the way. Even with coach built vehicles. I've seen the fans before and as you say, a lot of people use them. You're right....now that you're travelling with the little fella, (Rufus) the ventilation has never been so important. Looks like a nice neat and tidy job Cal. Well done. Maybe a future upgrade for me! Good to see you again. Take care. x
Cheers! Happy with how e managed to finish the job off. Was a little scared at first :P Don't know if you're watching any people for filming/editing tips on RUclips? You should check out Peter McKinnon if you aren't already, very good :D Helped us A LOT over the years
We definitely had a few hot days in the van too, looking forward to at least getting some good airflow! Haha, yes. The sun is always welcome when you use the solar shower :) hope you're well :D
Thanks for the video, just placed a deposit on an ex aa T6 yesterday, and doing research :) Maybe but a rubber black tape or something and place it around the dodgy looking sealant for a better look, or go to b&q and grab some plastic trim and just glue put a small raised lip over the edge of the vent leaving a gap to the sealant? Just like a small aesthetic cover so it doesn’t interfere with the sealant. I agree on windows and such, I’ve seen a lot of videos, and no one cuts them smoothly etc. I think as long as you can mark and cut out a hole with a cut disc, Drexel off the rough bits then it should be good. I am going to zinc prime and paint the edges then fit rubber tape and probably pump a nice large bead of sikaflex marine sealant to seat the windows in. I’ve used that stuff to bond a headlight to my TVR and it was amazing stuff. Good luck.
Ooh, sounds good 👍 thanks for the tips! We'll wait a while and decide what to do later on. The aesthetics of it aren't bothering us as much as they were, just hoping the rain stays out for good!
Disappointed that a pro would leave the sealant looking like that. Sad. But glad you have improved your van - I even see each upgrade to my T6 as just something I need to spend out on to make vanlife improvements.
Hi! Yes, currently planning for next year. We won't be doing anything too extravagant this year, the odd trip here and there. But bust saving & planning for 2022! All being well :D
Cheers Edward! It's a ARB Touring Awning, think it's the 1500x1500 model (but I could be wrong, will have to double check that! We also have a room which can clip on to it 👍
Hey Meg here! So they are a vintage find - from my mums wardrobe, she got them from a charity shop back in the 90’s - the tag reads “Livestage” but all my other funky trousers dungarees are from Lucy and Yak! My fav brand! ❤️❤️
If you are ever at a point of needing to remove those factory trim fittings again, rather than use an Allen key, get yourself a torx20 screwdriver and put that in the hole to then unwind the inner parts of the fittings.
no worries, we didn't make it overly clear in this video :P Hopefully have a few little adventures soon whilst we build up for a bigger trip next year, all being well :)
I rest my case, look at the job Cal did cutting round the light 💡 perfection 👍 ... 😘🤗❤️👵🏼🐾🐾🤠xxxx
That is one serious fan guys! So pleased you have it sorted. Take care both. Pat for Rufus 🐶🧙♂️x
Great bit of kit and good to hear that at least that went reasonably smooth for you.
Love the upgrade! Yeah, this went relatively well :P

Another brilliant vid and excellently presented too. I have forwarded this to my son who is currently converting his van to a camper!
Cheers 👍😁 ah great, if he's looking for a fan, the maxxair is a great choice!

Haha! Yeah, pretty chuffed with how it turned out internally. Rufus is getting cheekier by the day! Hope you're well
Hi guy's, yet another great video. Really enjoy watching the upgrades unfold. Thanks
Thank you :) Have enjoyed tinkering with he van and filming again, it's been a while!
Great video and its so good to see you got Flora sorted out in the end. Health and happiness to you both, so long suckers (and blowers).
Haha, cheers Graham!

Looks bonza on the inside. Top marks to Cal.
Cheers Greg! Pretty happy with how it turned out. No leaks or anything yet either! Hurrah. 🥳 Hope you're doing good 👌🚐
Great vlog guys we love your little dog he's so chilled 👍🏴👍
Cheers! Hope your gang are all good :D
@@FloraTheNoviceExplorers all good thanks looking forward to finishing the van or having a break doing it and getting away for a week 👍🏴👍
I bet! The hard work is worth it though :D
@@FloraTheNoviceExplorers hell yeah soon to be out on the road as much as poss. Hope all three of you are well 👍🏴👍
Try a colour match acrylic paint to cover the silicone? Mine is too high to see but we siliconed the hell out of it

I'm a bit jealous, our T5 is like a Greenhouse ... and we dont even live in a very hot place... but great for the solar shower bag.

Another great vid guys:) I’m still here :) been enjoying the van life. Done a few shows and been to Cornwall 🤙 \m/dublife :)
Brilliant, glad you've been able to get out and about :D
Hi good video. Job well done. Enjoy take care.

Meg where did you get those funky short dungarees 🥰 love them . Great video 🙌
Ill try nd find out for you... but it may be a difficult task :P they used to belong to her Meg's mum, so may be hard to track them down!

Awesome. Suck out Cal’s posterior gassing deposits.

I can't believe the finish on the sealer ! You two are really unlucky with who you employ to do your work !
Haha, to be fair this was done by the same "pro" who did our windows... better results with the fan, but keeping an eye on it!
@@FloraTheNoviceExplorers Oh sorry I didn't realise ! Keep up Terry 🤦🏻♂️
