  • In this tutorial we cast a rigid foam skull using our 6lb Density Rigid Casting Foam. We used a 5110 silicone mold made in a previous video. Rigid Casting foam is an inexpensive expanding foam that is great for casting Halloween decorations and props. It is also good for pouring up skull armatures for sculpting human heads.

Can this foam be used for lost foam casting? To make this skull aluminum.

What do you use to calculate how much silicone you need in the mould box. Is it rice? Also what type of clay do I need to buy that's suitable for silicone moulding? Thanks you guys!

All the clays on our website are sulfur free but the Protolina soft is our most popular for mold work. Go to the resources section of our website for more videos on calculating volume etc.. Rice is a good method.

@@bitymoldsupply Thanks! Usually I would buy from you but I'm sadly in the UK on a budget so I can't afford the extra postage. Do you have a link to your video on measurements for mould boxes?

@@projectdalekmark Go to the "Poured Molds" section of our video library. You can find the video library page under the resources tab.
