ChaosMarx Ahhh now I get it - that's for replying :) . I think Europeans got a 'steelbook' case if you preordered. That's pretty cool; I've never seen a 3DS Steelbook case before. (I actually really like the Pokemon plush dolls - I've collected the original starts + pikachu and a few other favourites like Mew, etc. They seem to be good quality.)
***** Ahh fair enough. The steel books would be cool. You're right though, the regular coloured versions look good, and they fit in with all the other 3DS and Pokemon game cases I already own. Cheers!
You’re lucky. We didn’t get figures or colored boxes in the US I think now eshop games are often the same price though not always. Also I’m always jealous we don’t get Boxing Day off Kinda wish old 3ds had face plates
Really enjoyed this, thank you. Brilliant narration and I'm pretty sure you enjoyed the game so far. Got one ORAS and a console each for me and the gf as well last weekend. Christmas is sorted!
I am thinking of getting the Animal Crossing bundle. I have the Majora's Mask edition XL and want to add the smaller new 3DS to my collection. I am just wondering how good the smaller screen is.
+Allen Ewasiuk Nice choice. The screen does look sharper and the face plates are almost enough reason alone to buy the smaller one. For me though, I do love the larger screen :)
***** I'd love to get those, but I don't think they're going to be available here in Australia, which sucks! I am getting all four of the special edition 2DS consoles though. So that's something! :)
I picked mine up on the 13th of February for 169€ and I am glad I preordered it because it sold out everywhere around me.. All you had to comment on about it is pretty accurate to my impressions. I also went to this from a 3DS XL and the hinge on this one is amazing! Watched this video because of the wooden panel, I think I will get one now. They retail for around 15gbp on amazon
Thanks for your comment! :) Lucky you bought one at the normal price! I wonder if the New 3DS is more popular in Europe or there was less supply this time? Did you buy a black or white N3DS? In any case, the wooden panel is nice, but my favourite at the moment is the glow in the dark Boos panel that I bought form Japan. If you're interested I reviewed it here: ruclips.net/video/XXQ4jOlXacc/видео.html
I got the black one, I thought it would get more contrast with other coverplates later. The new 3DS went quite quickly apparently in my previous home town (sweden) and here in the netherlands. The face plate with the boos looks really awesome, so I might just try to order one! Thanks for the tip!
The white one is way more beautiful than the black one IMO, even for someone like me who only has black consoles.Im getting this for my birthday and im buying the white one.
I got my 3ds at the start of this month and being that I'm disabled and on a limited income and wasn't told about it I have to wait a whole month to get the charger and be able to play it
at 8:22 I remember thinking the exact same thing when I opened my N3DS for the same time, and I loved it. I absolutely hated the screen moving and the hinge making that annoying noise like cracking whenever I open my 3DSXL. But now its been two months later and my N3DS its making the same noise as my Xl AND the screen is moving too. Is this normal? I hate it, I feel like it´s going to get broken.
+Ross Allen I know it's annoying, but it's probably normal. Some hinges might be slightly more firm out of the factory, and over time they loosen up to 'normal' and make that clicking sounds?? It's frustrating though, such a small thing takes away from the gaming experience. I hope it doens't bother you too much. :)
do you notice a difference in image sharpness btwn the standard 3ds and the XL? Some people love the bigger screen but personally i get bugged by even slightly stretched images
I think the standard 3ds looks sharper than the XL screen, but to be honest, I prefer the XL screen. Even though it is fairly pixelated, it is a more immersive gaming experience.
Where was the shop that you got the New 3DS for the discount (200 bucks) ? Or was the discount applied to every EB shop? Thanks! Sure to pick up mine in the near future
hi! how big are the screens on the new 3ds? im from brazil and I've only seen xl's... are they bigger than the original 3ds and 2ds? like the dsi's screen or something... thanks!
+Rafael Alvarenga The New 3DS screens are bigger than the original 3DS and the 2DS. The top screen is 3.88 inches vs 3.5 on the original, and the bottom screen is 3.33 inches vs 3 on the original (from memory). Hope that helps!
Thats why I so want the New 3DS one for the colored buttons, the face plates and the nice restored 3D and the hing lol Im OCD about that to and I just have a used 3DS XL, I traded in my 3DS and regret it! I like you you got the Pokemon games and the box's are the same color as the art:) Thats cool!
+GamerGirlMaster Thanks for the comment :). I loved the standard New 3DS too, but for me, the larger New 3DS XL is better - it's easier for my hands to hold, and I find the larger screens easier on my eyes. But I wish the XL had swappable cover plates. That would have made it perfect! I hope you get one soon :) The loose hinge is really frustrating - I am very lucky that my New 3DS XL (Majora's Mask Special Edition) has a perfect, tight hinge with no wobble - phew!! haha, OCD is the worst when it comes to Nintendo consoles too, because they vary so much!
HNRichard They are both good. If you have the money, the New 3DS is a better console, especially with the super stable 3D and the overall bigger screen. Good luck with your decision! :)
I get digital versions of games when they're brand new and I really, REALLY want them. For instance: Smash 3DS is the first of three games I have downloaded onto my 3DSXL because I knew that I would always want to have it around with me.
i'm thinking about getting one from Australia or europe, because Nintendo got out of Brazil due to the giant taxes that the governamet imposes over the games, so the New 3DS is not coming to me. do you know any good sites to import one of those? nice video man!
Do you have a new Nintendo 3ds xl so you can do a comparison on them both on their texture, how they feel, battery life and how they are like when you play games like super smash bros with both your pinkies at the bottom of the 3ds.(Left pinkie right under the game card slot, and right pinkie under the power button or near it. so thank you for that video and please make this video for me.
I'm not too sure if you'll be able to answer this, but I was wondering if having digitally downloaded games is different than the actual cartridge when you're doing the system transfers? All of my games are played with the physical cartridge (and when games saves, it gets saved onto the SD card as well right?) so if I do plan on getting the new 3ds, would the system transfer transfer the contents of my old SD card into the new micro SD---or is that something totally different?
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure how the mechanics of a system transfer works... however, I've transferred 3DS systems about 10 times now, and each time all my digital and physical cartridge games and save files all transfer properly, including virtual shop games, etc. I've never had a problem with a transfer and corrupted data or saves or anything like that. I'll be doing another transfer tomorrow actually haha! I hope that clarifies it for you? Cheers, :)
S3ISOR a bit late but thanks for answering my question! I was mainly concerned just because I was thinking of getting the new 3ds (small one) when it would be released in the US..butttt since they're only releasing the XL here, I guess I'll just have to stick with my 2ds for now heh :c Don't got the money for an XL!
Nice video! Best Nintendo RUclipsr! Other RUclipsrs talk very fast but you talk slower so I can understand you... (If that makes sense...) You have a new subscriber!
Hi Braedon, you could import the Australian 3DS to Canada, however, our 3DS is region-locked to Australia/New Zealand and Europe, which means it can only play games from that region. So any games you have bought in Canada/NA won't work in the console. It's REALLY annoying that Nintendo still use region-locking, but there is no way around it at the moment (unless you imported Australia/European games to go with the console). Hopefully the New 3DS is released in Canada soon :)
Okay thanks so if i did get one from Australia english ofcourse. And bought my games there to. Can is till play onlone with my friends that have a 3ds?
Braedon H To be honest I'm not really sure. I'm sure you could, but it might be worth Google'ing to get an exact answer. I'd be pretty annoying to get an Australian console and then not be able to play with your Canadian mates. With that said, Pokemon Global Link works fine worldwide on any console.. so I'm not too sure. Maybe you could let us know if you find out :)
I didn't know the hard copy was cheaper! I've bought 2 games online and the only reason why I did that was either because I was on holiday or The game was sold out in stores! So I couldn't resist and had to get it on the eShop!
Softcopy has it's benefits, at least you can carry a huge game collection around with you without needed to carry anything physical. It just sucks that you can't re-sell the softcopy games like you can with cartridges. I think eShop games should be at least 10-20% lower than physical games.
Thanks for the videos about a year ago you gave me advice on importing 3ds xls which made me come back for advice on the new 3ds. Was just wondering if you feel the larger screen sizes on the standard new 3ds is large enough in comparison to the xl. I already own an xl and like the large screen but am considering getting the standard this time around due to the larger screens. Also I picked up the omega ruby transparent 2ds and was wondering what your thoughts are on that console I noticed you dont own any 2ds'. I couldn't resist the transparency it reminded me of my transparent gameboy back in the day. I'm pleasantly surprised as I find it's more comfortable to hold than the XL. Cheers for the videos easily the best reviews around for 3ds consoles.
Hi Shannon, thanks for the kind words! :) As to your question, I find the standard-sized new 3DS screens OK, but still not as immersive or as impressive as the 3DS XL. As soon as a Zelda or Pokemon special edition New 3DS XL comes out I'm going to switch over. However, I like the smaller size of the standard New 3DS (with it's larger screens). Nice pick up with the transparent 2DS. I bought one of these too, and am doing a short video (not a review) on it soon. It looks surprisingly awesome in real life. I actually bought a 2DS when they first launch to give it a go, but sold it shortly afterwards because I never used it. Anyway, let me know which version of the New 3DS you buy. Merry Xmas! :)
S3ISOR I was mostly considering the standard new 3ds because it would have more pixel density making the screens look sharper in comparison to the XL yet most reviewers are still preferring the XL's screens. So I'm really on the fence about which one haha
Shannon Kennerson Yeah it's a close one. The standard New 3DS definitely is sharper than the XL, but I the HUUUGE pixels on the XL add to the appeal for me (for some weird reason). Reminds me a bit of my first Gameboy and Gameboy Color. Let me know which one you end up getting! :)
When I play gameboy games on the XL I actually prefer it on the big screens even though it's so stretched out i find it easier to see whats going on. It's as if my eyes can't strain/focus enough on the original small screen sizes of the gameboy so I guess bigger is better haha. I'm tempted to get the new 3ds because of the wood grain panel but also wait til there is a special edition XL and get that too. Thanks for the replies I'll let you know what I settle with.
It's a different retail climate in Australia than it is in, say, the United States. In the US, 3DS titles are typically $40 USD both in store and on the eShop, whereas the price varies much more wildly in Australia. Personally, I download all of my games because I tend to both travel and move house a lot. It's not feasible to lug around a bunch of physical games, and have to pack them all up and move them and then unpack them. Much easier for me to have them all downloaded on a massive micro SD card.
Yeah that makes sense :) I can see why digital would make a lot of people's life easier. I would prefer Nintendo to offer the digital version at least 10-20% cheaper than the physical versions.
A discount would certainly be much appreciated, yeah, sort of like how if you preorder a game on Steam you usually get 10% off the price. To Nintendo's credit, they sometimes offer digital download incentives in the US- I've received two separate exclusive 3DS themes for buying digitally; one for Ultimate NES Remix and one for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Hey. Quick question and sorry if it is a repeat. How does the wood feel after a while of playtime? I have an ambassador 3ds in the UK. I don't have a Matte plate at all - the ambassador plates are shiny/glossy. This is kinda silky which is annoying for games like mario kart. Does the wooden plate have a grippy, wood like texture? And, secondly, is the pattern something you can feel (the mario design etc) or is it just visual? Do your fingers feel the ridges of the pattern? Thanks in advance :)
Hi James. TBH, I had to return my wood face plate because of a screw problem, and I didn't replace it with another one. So I can't really answer your questions sorry :/ It's interesting that the Ambassador plates are glossy - like you I prefer the matt texture. The plain white Mario face plate is matte, and the glow in the dark Boos plate is satin. Good luck!
S3ISOR Thanks for the detailed reply! Is this the matte one? www.amazon.co.uk/Mario-White-New-Nintendo-Coverplate/dp/B00SKQYR9Q/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1422721233&sr=8-10&keywords=new+3ds+cover+plates IF so I will put in an order for that. The "Smash" one I have looks similar to this one but is glossy. Glossy just is so slippy and I am cnstantly "thinking" about it. My old DS LITE is less ergonomic, but the matte rear is perfect. Thanks again in advance :)
James Nighthawk That's the one! It's definitely matt, and feels much nicer than other glossy face plates I've tried. The satin finish of the Boos faceplate (link to my video on it: ruclips.net/video/XXQ4jOlXacc/видео.html) feels really nice too. I've also ordered the Majora's Mask and Pikachu face plates from Japan (links below), so I'll be interested to see how they go on the N3DS. PS. I'm very jealous of the Ambassador edition. I prize my Ambassador certificate on my console (for some weird reason). :) Majora's Mask face plate: www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0013544&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dkisekae%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 Pikachu face plate: www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0013545&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dkisekae%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1
S3ISOR I also have an ambassador certificate. Nintendo boy here Thanks for the detailed replies! I have put my order in for that white Mario one, only a fortnight till it arrives. That BOO ones looks awesome, will totally be adding that to the collection when it is released over here. The Majora and pikachu are both too "busy" for me. But I hope you enjoy them! The ambasador plates... the top one is cool. The bottom nintendo logo is a bit tacky in my view. But might use the top plate one day with a different lower half. Matte/Satin is the only way to go for the tactile feel though Clearly the wooden one didn't grab you enough to replace rather than exchange?... tempted to cancel mine and stick with the matte white mario instead Thanks for the chat, really helpful (have subbed!) James x
James Nighthawk No worries :). I liked the wooden one at the start because it was 'different'. But after a day or so the wooden texture felt 'weird' to play games with, so I switched back to the normal (it was when I was doing this that I noticed one of the screws had a problem). The store was going to replace it with another (which I was OK with) but they had none left, so I just got a refund instead. The Pikachu face plate is very busy, but I have a soft spot for that particular Pokemon (Pokemon Yellow was my first serious GameBoy game when I was a kid) so I had to grab it. All the best with your Mario-themed face plate. I'd be interested to hear what you think when it arrives. Cheers! :)
Yes you can :-). You can play any DS game on the console. I think some new DS games had region locking though, so they'd have to match the region of your console. EG. USA DSi games will work on a USA 3Da Console, but not an Australian one. Hope that helps :)
Yeah all European games will work on Australian 3DS's. This Australian Nintendo-fan website has a roundup of good prices which might be still relevant when you come out: www.vooks.net/aussie-bargain-roundup-find-the-new-nintendo-3ds-and-new-3ds-xl-cheap/ Enjoy your trip!
When i got my new 3ds xl they didn't say it didn't come with a charger so I had to wait a few days until I was able to use it until I could go back and get one
I just realized that the console is super expensive when you realize that you don't get the charger. That'd be a few good bucks. I'd say 3-13 or something like that, but it was necessary for them to do it such that people felt they cared.
Hi, no Pokemon doesn't run any smoother on the new consoles. I was hoping to have improves FPS with battle scenes and 3D, but it's exactly the same as on the standard 3DS and 3DS XL. I wonder if the new processor 'down-clocks' to match the speed of the older consoles? It's kind of disappointing that older games won't take advantage of the new processing power. Hope that helps :)
I did a little google search and on gamefaqs forum (i think) it seems that cos the Pokemon X and Y engine was coded before the development of the new 3DS models (i assume), it didn't make use of the new processor and/or hardware so none of the 3DS pokemon games speed up. Which is a shame, as I like the look of the new 3ds, but personally there's really not much point in getting one now (oh well, save some money)
DanYul55 That's interesting. I read something similar to this as well. I was kind-of hoping that Nintendo would release a patch so the new Pokemon games would play better on the new consoles. Seems unlikely though. Like you said, it saves you money so it's not all bad :)
I think some invited people have been given early access to purchase an Ambassador N3DS in the UK at least, and some of them are already receiving them. For the rest of Europe, the actual release date is 13 February I think. :)
Victor Krausche The New 3DS and New 3DS XL was released in Australia in November 2014. For some reason we got it before the rest of the world (excluding Japan). That's never happened before, so I'm not complaining :)
You're meaning when people download the games right? I agree, mostly cause if the system breaks or your SD card gets lost or breaks you have to pay again just to get your downloaded games back.
+SakuraandSesshomaru Yeah that's what I mean. I always prefer physical games on a cartridge, because just like you said, if I lost my console or it breaks it's a pain to get your games back. Also, you can't re-sell digital games. If Nintendo introduces a better account system it might fix a few issues.
+S3ISOR That's incorrect. All game downloads are tied to your Nintendo Account, so you guys actually have it backwards; if your physical copy breaks/gets lost you're SOL, but you can always re-download digital copies.
I never been the best pokemon player, but what's the point of buying the 2 pokemon games? as I remember asking before to a friend, I remember he told me, the 2 versions have some different pokemons, but they release 2 versions so people trade pokemons, but besides that, is there anything else??
+Manuel Osnaya Cervantes A lot of people buy both so they can do a normal playthrough on one version, and a special playthrough (nuzlocke, shiny badge quest, etc.) on the other.
I LOVE BUYING GAMES FROM ESHOP, In USA there the same price from the card, and plus u have all ur games in one place no need to bring like a bag full of games there all in your system.
+rapstyle da robloxian I would say go for it. I think we will hear a new handheld announcement by 2017. Then again the Nintendo DSI was released a year before the 3DS.
+rapstyle da robloxian Thanks, hope they are not actually releasing a new handheld, I'll go for it for Christmas (Even though my Mom and Sister says its useless) if I dont have it in my hands until 23rd of December(My birthday) or Christmas day, the whole world will end :3
Help, please. I'm not from USA, but I'm buying the new 3ds in USA, the costs it's going to be 199.99 WITH taxes or not? Sorry for the question, but I need to know...
I'm not from the USA either, but I think it depends on your shipping address. If you're using a freight forwarder it depends on which state they're warehouse is located in as well. I've used freight forwarders in the US and haven't had to pay sales tax before. Hopefully someone else can answer your question better....?
It depends on what state you order it from. Some state have taxes and it will be added in the end. Say you order it from California, usually, the sales taxes will be added. It is 8.25% in most parts of California but if you're ordering it from Los Angeles, California, the taxes might be at 9.75% tax. It varies but it will show up once you buy it. Hope it helps.
I live in Germany could I import it becuase on the pairing(?) Menu there was a "German" button.. And if I could import...is it region locked for australia?
Cool cases for the games (US just gets white) and I love the colored buttons. Again US kay gets XL. Can't complain too much because I am getting the XL anyway just because of the screen. That's right, still not out here in the US...
Great that you prefer physical games to digital ones! If you ever want to try the Inazuma Eleven series, you COULD download the 3DS version of the first game from the Aussie eShop OR you could import a physical copy of the DS version from Europe!
Thanks for your comment :) I've imported a few games from Europe that are way cheaper than Australia (or just aren't available here). My Pikachu 3DS XL also came from Amazon UK. So in some respects its cool that we share a region. ...Although I would prefer to region-locking at all :)
S3ISOR Lol I live in Ireland,Europe and our gamestop sells cheap N3DS Games and some that are old,They are cheap since they have too much! There is a pile of like 200 under the Pre-owned Nintnedow Games shelves.I even get 3 Eurogames.Even though we get Yoshis Wooly world this summer, when America have it September, its like 50 Euro without ammibo.
Unfortunately I don't think so (unless there are homebrew/hacking software that can). As far as I know, there is no way to change the region locking from Australia to the US. Sorry :/ (I wish Nintendo would remove region locking)
They only came out in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Nintendo felt the sales in Europe and America weren't enough to warrant a release straight away or some shit.
i got my new 3ds regular size a month ago from the HHD bundle on kijiji for 200, you can also get the pokemon edition on amazon. if anything, go to play-asia to find one. hope that helps
I agree, the 2DS is a nice console and would be great for a lot of people. I really like the large screen and 3D effect of the New 3DS XL screen though, so I'm happy :)
You just explained the reason why buy cartridges instead of digital! I always tell ppl yes it's convenient to have them digital but I also like collecting the boxes. Also i can share with my mom rather then her stealing my 3ds. Anyway, just random stopping by. (Wow! 219 is high! I'm waiting for the eu release. )
Nico Fuzzy I think Shaun was taking at guess at the US price for the standard N3DS. The N3DS XL is $199.99 like you said (it's $249.99 here in Australia). If Nintendo America brings the standard N3DS to the US I wonder what they'll charge? My guess would be $169.99
I was thinking about getting a 3DS XL for Christmas because I want to get get back into gaming. But seeing this new one...I just don't know. And I'm in the US. If I chose the new one I won't have anything for Christmas from my dad besides PJS. And I would probably have to wait for my birthday in April to get the new one. But I think It thinks it just depends on the games you want to play. If its pokemon (like me) just stick to the old one. If its these new flashy games they are bringing out get the new one. Hope I helped. =)
I would seriously consider waiting for the new one. (unless your from Australia, NZ or Japan of course) It is going to be pretty much the same price as the old one too. The 3D is massively improved which is such an overlooked feature honestly, because its so terrible to use on the regular 3ds. The hinge is WAY better. The hinge on my 3ds broke, and my xl hinge is also a piece of poo (as said in this video). The New 3ds will also have exclusive games so it would be a good idea to get it so you aren't limited to your game selection. In case they make a game for the new one and you want it but you can't play it due to the fact that your hardware is outdated.
when he said Pokemon omega rape I cried 😂😂😂😂
Pacey Tully 😩
>says he is paranoid about scratches
> *Uses a knife to open AS*
😂😂😂😂 HAHAHA!!!
Bich
Exactly lol scratched the case up within 3 seconds.
"I got pokemon omega rape---- ruby"
"I got Alpha Sex"
JamyDogger HAHAHAHAHHA GOOD ONE
TheFishCat its not even funny..
Finally an Australian youtuber, congratulations you have earned a new subscriber!
I'm jealous now! Australians get game cases with those colors for Pokémon Alpha & Omega; not fair...
I'm a bit confused by what you mean. Was there any preorder bonuses for pokemon where you are from? :)
S3ISOR We got plush dolls; I was just jealous of the red & blue cases for the games. Our cases are just white, which is boring...
Europe got steelbooks.... Le rages!!!!!
***** Ahh fair enough. The steel books would be cool. You're right though, the regular coloured versions look good, and they fit in with all the other 3DS and Pokemon game cases I already own. Cheers!
You’re lucky. We didn’t get figures or colored boxes in the US
I think now eshop games are often the same price though not always.
Also I’m always jealous we don’t get Boxing Day off
Kinda wish old 3ds had face plates
Thank you I just turned my 3ds on and it has a charge that I didn't think to check now I'm getting to play one day to play
im so excited for new 3ds to come to uk but i was so desperate i just ordered it and it will arrive tommorow xd.. Anyway awsome unboxing video.
Thanks for the comment, I hope you like your New 3DS!
I love how he trys to say kyogres name
Same with the colored buttons XD
Really enjoyed this, thank you. Brilliant narration and I'm pretty sure you enjoyed the game so far.
Got one ORAS and a console each for me and the gf as well last weekend. Christmas is sorted!
I am thinking of getting the Animal Crossing bundle. I have the Majora's Mask edition XL and want to add the smaller new 3DS to my collection. I am just wondering how good the smaller screen is.
+Allen Ewasiuk i got it, and yes it is significantly smaller , it looks a lot better, and detailed, Im happy with it
+Devasterium Ortiz I bought it two days ago. I love the compact size and the face plates! :D
+Allen Ewasiuk Nice choice. The screen does look sharper and the face plates are almost enough reason alone to buy the smaller one. For me though, I do love the larger screen :)
+S3ISOR yeah, the larger is super nice, I do have my monster hunter limited edition new 3ds, so I can always go back if I need to
+S3ISOR I love that I have both! :D
0:38 I don’t think I heard that right.... OMG he said Omega rape 🤣😂
Cool unboxing buddy! Keep em coming!
+Brandon Salt Thanks :) I hope to soon!
***** I'd love to get those, but I don't think they're going to be available here in Australia, which sucks! I am getting all four of the special edition 2DS consoles though. So that's something! :)
+crackerisntme are they out yet?
Pokeking 2015 Nah not yet. They come out on February 28.
Robin James Eric Bond No worries. Enjoy your console :)
The white one is way more beautiful than the black one IMO, even for someone like me who only has black consoles.Im getting this for my birthday and im buying the white one.
I already have this Super Mushroom cover plate for my New Nintendo 3DS at home!
In America, we don't have stickers like that on gamestop game boxes. Os that on the shrink wrap of all game boxes/cases in Australia? Just curious :p
I got my 3ds at the start of this month and being that I'm disabled and on a limited income and wasn't told about it I have to wait a whole month to get the charger and be able to play it
Sucks America doesn't get both. I don't mind the XL but i do wish the faceplate were switchable though.
Oh here little Johnny.😂😂 Great video though you got straight to the point with putting in some valued information. You have a new subscriber!!
Nya H Thank you for your nice comment! :) I'm glad you enjoying the video.
at 8:22 I remember thinking the exact same thing when I opened my N3DS for the same time, and I loved it.
Even though it is fairly pixelated, it is a more immersive gaming experience.
my favorite character is rosalina and boo, in that order.
Best unboxing video in my opinion!
Where was the shop that you got the New 3DS for the discount (200 bucks) ? Or was the discount applied to every EB shop? Thanks! Sure to pick up mine in the near future
It was EB Games Australia. They price matched Target Australia who have them advertised for $199. Did you end up picking yours up yet?
hi! how big are the screens on the new 3ds? im from brazil and I've only seen xl's... are they bigger than the original 3ds and 2ds? like the dsi's screen or something... thanks!
+Rafael Alvarenga The New 3DS screens are bigger than the original 3DS and the 2DS. The top screen is 3.88 inches vs 3.5 on the original, and the bottom screen is 3.33 inches vs 3 on the original (from memory). Hope that helps!
+Rafael Alvarenga The 3ds XL feels better to play for hours, specially people with big hands =/ So keep it in mind.
Is the screen a little bit bigger compared to the old 3ds? Or is it still in the same size to the old 3ds? :)
S3ISOR
I also subscribed to your channel:) U sound cool! I like your videos to:) If you want check out my channel:)
***** Thanks! I'll check your channel out today :)
I'm looking forward to buy the new Nintendo 3DS, but I'm hooked on the 2DS cheap price. Which one is more worthed?
HNRichard They are both good. If you have the money, the New 3DS is a better console, especially with the super stable 3D and the overall bigger screen. Good luck with your decision! :)
I've been itching for a New Nintendo 3DS!
how tf did you get the colored cases for ORAS? I want them so bad! lol Cant find them anywhere.
I get digital versions of games when they're brand new and I really, REALLY want them.
For instance: Smash 3DS is the first of three games I have downloaded onto my 3DSXL because I knew that I would always want to have it around with me.
That makes sense. At least we have choice now. I just hope Nintendo moves to a universal account ID soon.
i'm thinking about getting one from Australia or europe, because Nintendo got out of Brazil due to the giant taxes that the governamet imposes over the games, so the New 3DS is not coming to me. do you know any good sites to import one of those? nice video man!
***** Haha, no worries. I am happy to help! :) And that's a good decision made for you then I guees - the XL is an awesome console.
Does the Australian New Nintendo 3ds, like you have, play American 3ds games?
Luiginoid Yoshi Hi, the Australian 3DS doesn't play American 3DS games because of Nintendo's region locking. Sorry :(
Really good review! Keep it up
Nice video! Best Nintendo RUclipsr! Other RUclipsrs talk very fast but you talk slower so I can understand you... (If that makes sense...)
You have a new subscriber!
+Ellen.J Thanks for your nice comment :) I'm glad you liked the video!
I live in canada can i not just import the new 3ds here? And will the american games work or will i need to import Australia games to? Thanks
Let me know please :)
Braedon H
no you can't even multiplayer is region locked
Sully Talks That's true. And they offered some Wii U eShop games for half price (Metroid, Super Mario Galaxy). So it's not all bad :)
I haven't played any Pokemon games yet but I'm getting one this month to try
I love the look of this smaller one, but I want the bigger screen. Why couldn't they make them the same :/
I know right! They could've releases a N3DS and N3DS XL in black and white with interchangeable plates. That would've been great!
Will the Australian new 3ds work for US cartridges? On the fence for standard and XL
Sadly no, all 3DSs are region locked. US games don't work in Australia and vice versa. Kinda sucks.
Got exactly the same haul here (less eshop card) in NZ at the midnight launch
The unevenness near the power button is common on new 3ds but not on the new xl.
If I get a 3ds, and have the money of 2/3 extra games, what would you recommend I get?
Is this the matte one?
www.amazon.co.uk/Mario-White-New-Nintendo-Coverplate/dp/B00SKQYR9Q/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1422721233&sr=8-10&keywords=new+3ds+cover+plates
IF so I will put in an order for that.
Majora's Mask face plate: www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0013544&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dkisekae%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1
Pikachu face plate: www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0013545&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dkisekae%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1
S3ISOR I also have an ambassador certificate. Nintendo boy here
Thanks for the detailed replies!
Matte/Satin is the only way to go for the tactile feel though
Clearly the wooden one didn't grab you enough to replace rather than exchange?... tempted to cancel mine and stick with the matte white mario instead
Thanks for the chat, really helpful (have subbed!)
James x
Cheers! :)
Can you use ds lite games on the new 3ds? Sorry if I sound stupid I've never had one of these consoles
Yes you can :-). You can play any DS game on the console. I think some new DS games had region locking though, so they'd have to match the region of your console. EG. USA DSi games will work on a USA 3Da Console, but not an Australian one. Hope that helps :)
I already have the wooden Mario them so I would love that faceplate! First I gotta upgrade from 2ds to 3ds though
Hi
Does all PAL games work? I'm European but going to Australia this December
S3ISOR thanks :)
That box art is amazing
When i got my new 3ds xl they didn't say it didn't come with a charger so I had to wait a few days until I was able to use it until I could go back and get one
I can't wait to get my hands on one!
I was surprised at the new 3DS box as I have only had an original 3DS and a DSi
Is it available in the states yet?
I just realized that the console is super expensive when you realize that you don't get the charger. That'd be a few good bucks. I'd say 3-13 or something like that, but it was necessary for them to do it such that people felt they cared.
Does pokemon run smoother with the 3d on? Main reason I wanna get one tbh
Is the N3Ds already released in europe? Im kinda confused now
I think some invited people have been given early access to purchase an Ambassador N3DS in the UK at least, and some of them are already receiving them. For the rest of Europe, the actual release date is 13 February I think. :)
i know that but how did u got this one?
Victor Krausche The New 3DS and New 3DS XL was released in Australia in November 2014. For some reason we got it before the rest of the world (excluding Japan). That's never happened before, so I'm not complaining :)
ooooooooooooooooooooooh u r from australia
what should i get new 3ds or new 3ds XL
These days I just recommend to get the 3DS XL.
New 3ds cause there are going to be some exclusive new games for new 3ds
New 3ds hands down
+Logic 301 you guys are dumb it won't be just exclusive for the same device aka new 3ds and new 3ds xl maybe for regular 3ds but there the same thing
+S3ISOR is that the new one or the old one
i preordered it but no figure and they said they give to me
where do you work and how much they pay you for?
I like physical not electronical gotten games
Same it depends for me though if I can't find it anywhere physically I will buy it digitally
The Most Original Meme take a fuckin joke smartass
._.
S3ISOR Oh, how much did all this cost? I've been wanting to buy the same set though Mine is the US versions.
SakuraandSesshomaru I don't remember now :) But it was probably $250 Australian Dollars.
+S3ISOR That's incorrect. All game downloads are tied to your Nintendo Account, so you guys actually have it backwards; if your physical copy breaks/gets lost you're SOL, but you can always re-download digital copies.
Dark_Aurora No you can't. I have lots of games I could NEVER redownload after I had to restore the system.
I never been the best pokemon player, but what's the point of buying the 2 pokemon games?
as I remember asking before to a friend, I remember he told me, the 2 versions have some different pokemons, but they release 2 versions so people trade pokemons, but besides that, is there anything else??
+Manuel Osnaya Cervantes There is generally no point in buying both versions, but I'm a collector of Pokemon games, so I always buy both version :)
+Manuel Osnaya Cervantes A lot of people buy both so they can do a normal playthrough on one version, and a special playthrough (nuzlocke, shiny badge quest, etc.) on the other.
Your Worst Friend That makes sense too! I hadn't considered doing that, maybe I should give it a go :)
ok thanks guys :)
I preordered both games too but the store didn't give me the figures... They gave them out to other people though ono
+Chibi Akuma That sucks, isn't half the point of pre-ordered that you secure your bonus before others? I wonder if they ran out of the figures.
S3ISOR They did
America Y U No get the replaceable cover plates?
they have eb games in canada but its gamestop in the us
+Kevin Bleh I didn't know that! There you go, EB is not unique to Australia :)
yep, hey man can u help me mod my gbc ? XD
Kevin Bleh Sorry man, I'd be useless at that. How do you want to MOD it?
i just want a paint job lol
btw i live in canada
I LOVE BUYING GAMES FROM ESHOP, In USA there the same price from the card, and plus u have all ur games in one place no need to bring like a bag full of games there all in your system.
same design as the black friday one or similar to it?
Piriverd similar
Shall I get new 3ds or new 3dsxl please help me decide guys and nice video
Why is it cauld sea stick? Because it comes from south east asia? Or see stick because u cant see the see stick when u use it? Or c-stick? Got nothin.
Do you think nintendo is releasing another handheld in the next 3 years? I wanna buy it and use it for quite a time :/
+rapstyle da robloxian I would say go for it.
Its just enough time for me to enjoy the 3DS :3
+rapstyle da robloxian 21 november is my birthday
+Chamil Chamoul
Sorry for late answer, already got mine on Black Friday and my Christmas gifts are done now! Being just the small New 3ds!
Verik K Thanks! Do u know what is the tax in El Paso, Texas?
Israel Velasco Baños from what I could find online, it stated taxes for El Paso TX is 8.25%
Verik K Thanks man! And even with taxes, its like 100 USD cheaper than in my country!
Only two weeks to go... :) And the XL is a great console to choose. Cheers!
is there for the new 3DS XL
Where you bought ?
There is a pile of like 200 under the Pre-owned Nintnedow Games shelves.I even get 3 Eurogames.Even though we get Yoshis Wooly world this summer, when America have it September, its like 50 Euro without ammibo.
this is what we need in America ,man now we have to wait if only there was no region lock then i could in port
Yeah tell me about it. I wish Nintendo would just get rid of region-locking. All it does is hurt gamers and limit choice. Thanks for the comment :)
Do you think I can get this 3ds to change the settings to be compatible with the us
Unfortunately I don't think so (unless there are homebrew/hacking software that can). As far as I know, there is no way to change the region locking from Australia to the US. Sorry :/ (I wish Nintendo would remove region locking)
How much did it cost?
Are the new 3ds out now or did he just get it early because I heard its coming out next year
They only came out in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Nintendo felt the sales in Europe and America weren't enough to warrant a release straight away or some shit.
TheMGSlow Wooowwww. That is shit.Just... Why nintendo?
Ryan Jones Exactly; for me, it wont matter, as long as we dont lose smash or Pokemon to it!
Ryan Jones '
Well they are being released world wide next year....
Ryan Jones Wait, Xenoblade is going on the New 3DS?
I don't know why they only released the new 3ds xl in USA. They released the regular one but it's a limited edition, Pokemon blue or red version.
Both of them are either 300 or 258 respectively.
I know, I'm not buying a 3ds, because I don't like the xl, and we can't buy the normal sized ones....
you can get it on ebay amazon or even kijiji.
keep your eyes open for good deals.
+Cera Ve Yeah, but they're region locked
i got my new 3ds regular size a month ago from the HHD bundle on kijiji for 200, you can also get the pokemon edition on amazon. if anything, go to play-asia to find one. hope that helps
How much did every cost
We aren't getting the chargers in Canada either
I think 2DS betting than Nintendo 3DS xl cause it's comfortable in your hand come in nice different colors fit in your pocket
I'm waiting for the eu release. )
That's a good point - I forgot to mention that you can share physical cartridges. Thanks for the comment :)
it is very annoying when your in a battle on Pokemon and the top screen flaps down so that's good
Is the new 3ds bigger than the XL version?
No, it's still smaller by quite a bit. The New 3DS XL is bigger than the original 3DS XL, but not by a lot.
S3ISOR Ah! I see. Thanks for the clarification
I picked up the new xl and OR so I'm pretty happy
Nice, good for you! OR will keep you busy for a while! :)
I have just started watching you.
Your videos
So the new 3DS is $177.17 when in comes out in the US?
nope, $199.99
Nico Fuzzy I think Shaun was taking at guess at the US price for the standard N3DS. The N3DS XL is $199.99 like you said (it's $249.99 here in Australia). If Nintendo America brings the standard N3DS to the US I wonder what they'll charge? My guess would be $169.99
oh yeah I forgot about the regular one, yeah probably about $174.99 like the current one.
It will not come out.....
one can only hope
I didn't get my toe order bonus from ebgames. Also I it a free face plate with my new 3ds
How much did you spend
Is your job reviewing stuff? Or do u do reviews for fun?
I can't decide should I get the 3ds or new 3ds I'm getting one soon and need help
***** Why? I have PS3. =P
Get a new one, especially if you're in Aus/NZ. When they start releasing new 3ds games, you won't need to buy another console
Rissie Luvii thxs I'm in the U.S to and loveeeee pokemon so I'm probably gonna get the old one
Haha I just read the comment below about you owning the transparent blue 2ds it's a great system and I think it's quite underrated
I agree! It looks awesome and feels pretty nice in the hand. Merry Xmas!
