I had listened to this (a 33 1/3 record) on a portable record player as a child. Many times, over and over. I’m now 70 and sending this to my 3-year-old grandchild via my son/his father. What a lovely rendition and wonderful animated art. The style of animation resembles the album cover of the version I listened to as a child starting at the age of 6. Thank you New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
At my granddaughter's pre-school today, the children were introduced to Peter and the Wolf via a colorful book and a recorded narration. I'm sending the NJSO link to my daughter to play for my granddaughter. It has everything: Cartoon; Real people playing real instruments; A conductor; Everyone in the orchestra wearing a mask (except the wind players); A flute (I think a 4-year-old would like that); Wonderful music by PROKOFIEV; And a grandpa (that would be me). Missing: Allan Sherman and a commissar.
I would introduce kids to orchestra instruments via this performance. It is easy to know some classic instruments while a the tale of Peter and the Wolf is deployed as well, which is a good way to lead beginners.
This is THE CUTEST performance I've ever seen! I will be playing this piece (along with a few others) with the Southeast Missouri State University orchestra tomorrow. This performance has inspired me so much. I love how the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra dressed up the players as their respective characters. That is simply so clever and adorable!
Lovely rendition which myself and my son enjoyed very much. Masks were a bit silly though when large parts of the orchestra are blowing instruments anyways. Still, very nice.

I love, Love, LOVE the costumes for each part! Wonderfully done. Thank you!
Such a delightful composition…it WAS my childhood! I’m 79 now and thoroughly enjoying this revisit.
New Jersey rocks! Nice to see such a fine performance coming out of my state.
I was scared of this story when I was little, we had it on cassette, but I always loved the music

Randomly searched for Peter and the Wolf and found a video that had only just been uploaded…
Fantastic version!

Why is the wolf depicted in red?
Good question
Masks freaked out my kid, who is post Covid. What a strange time that was.

Why has no one done this as a ballet?
There are already ballets of this.
Why are they all triangle
