    Dana Dane and Slick Rick used to be in the same group called the Kangol Crew.

      That’s true. Do you remember the other two members names? Cause it’s already common knowledge that everyone knows that Dana & Rick were in that crew.😉😉😉😉😉

    I respect his honesty and the fact that he didn't allow where he grew up to stop him from achieving his dreams. Its funny that rappers who helped to make hip hop popular didn't make as much as today's artist but it wasn't all about money.They had a real love for the ART FORM KNOWN AS HIPHOP.

    😂👍💃💃💞

    Dana Dane with Fame was the first cassette tape I had purchased and I loved it. U can tell Dana Dane and Slick Rick grew up together. Similar styles and great strytelling abiilites. Im glad 2 see hes doin well. I know Slick Rick is really from England but him and Dana went 2 the same high school. Who cares if Dana bit off of slick rick or not. He still put out quality music and that I appreciate..

    I'm a hood honky from Southwest Philadelphia I grew up on this man's music I had three best friends and we were crew in order it was Raheem Kenyatta and Darnell and we stayed tight we didn't go nowhere without each other and I agree I grew up in the town gardens projects at 68th and Lindbergh I was the only white boy there! But the great thing about the hood is you were safe as long as you weren't a stranger and everybody knew me as the hood honky and I had my share some fights but I always felt safe in the hood cuz I belong there!

    @sykesregal you should understand that no ideas original slick rick might be the first but he must got it from somewhere too like dana dane did plus these guys were doing it when hip hop was still a baby they have developed the art of storytellin in hip hop and laid down the foundation for the next one to follow so what you need to do right now is show respect and appreciation

    • @tairugardrie6453
      @tairugardrie6453 3 года назад

      Slick Rick is actually British so he inherited his accent, that’s different from copying it.. but Dana Dane had lyrics and good songs so you couldn’t help but rock wit it.. also most ppl outside of NY (and many in NY I guess) probably didn’t know his was fake until after he had faded off the scene

    @blackadam06
    actually, if you use common sense there would not be any need to verify anything.
    Slick Rick is British originally and he speaks with a British accent. Dana Dane is not British and he speaks with the same accent.
    I'm from NYC, nobody talks like them unless they can't help it (Rick) or they are doing it on purpose (Dana)
    kinda makes sense with or without Wikipedia.
    Normally you would be right about Wiki but common sense trumps it all.

    • @firstnamelastname6193
      @firstnamelastname6193 Год назад +1

      they hung out and after you spend a lot of time with someone you both share speech patterns just common sense

    • @mauricesantinomf
      @mauricesantinomf 11 месяцев назад

      @@firstnamelastname6193 this dude doesn't know what he's talking about it's not about where the rapper is from it's about how he's able to assimilate his flow into a style and if anyone did research they would know that Slick Rick was living in Brooklyn for over 10 years before he became an Emcee so he really didn't have a british accent it was more Americanised and if you listen to Slick Rick's older tracks you would clearly hear that he raps with his normal accent which is new york

  • @blackadam06

    He wasn't bitin' Slick Rick because they were ALL in the SAME crew at one point. That's like saying Busy Bone is bitin' Krazy Bone LOL!!
