Thank you for sharing this informational Video!!! Awesome!!!♥️
I’ve got three of the high risk ones, high LDL Cholesterol, smoker, depression, plus post menopausal. Time to make some positive changes.

      Cindy,
You should schedule a consultation with me. I can help you so much in focusing in on the things that are most important to YOU. Otherwise, it seems overwhelming to figure out where and how to start making those positive changes. With a consultation, you'll find that a few things go a long way in accomplishing your goals.
I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
I hope to meet you soon!

Hello Dr Taylor! Great video as usual! Thank you for all your efforts to increase our heart attack risk literacy. Your care for us is so apparent. I appreciate how you make this information available to us regardless of where we live. At 70 I have 2 risk factors: high LDL (147) and Triglycerides (198). I have tried many but cannot take statins. My BMI is 19 and I’ve followed Dr. Esselstyn’s plant based prevention program ( no oil, cooked greens 6 x daily) two years (vegan since 2010). I only eat unprocessed food and cook at home. I exercise (strength and cardio) 75 min three times per week and live an active lifestyle. I have taken the recommended levels of HRT for 20 years and feel healthy, strong, and cheerful, and I can’t recall the last time I had even a cold. Yet I am an outlier with the LDL and Triglycerides. I keep hoping to learn something new that will help me turn this around. Your teaching has been a comfort to me as I believe staying up to date is my best defense against illness.

Post menapause is a huge transition for us women. We are at much greater risks for heart attack than pre-menapause. We can change by adopting healthy eating and moving with even more conscious effort and work
    That we can all do.

This was very helpful! It calmed me in terms of seeing my actual risk. I think the nickel caused my heart to be unstable but my heart is doing much better now. Very helpful chart as well! I just suggested someone else watch you who is kind of obsessed with hot flashes and I hope she does. She says it is too much for her. I guess getting a heart attack isn't too much? It seems some women do not want to know. I don't get it but I do and thank you for this education!

Thank you so very much for your videos. You are soooo wonderful!! I’ve been watching and listening and learning from your videos for nearly 2 years now. I just had a ton of blood work done ( check up) and to my surprise my LDL and my HDL were not where I wanted them to be. I eat right and exercise I thought I was doing all the right things but these two have thrown me for a loop. I’m really not sure what I have to do to get these levels lower and higher?? I’m 60 years old I’m not overweight I don’t smoke nor do I drink. I’m scared to the point I’m just not eating anything scared of the saturated fat that’s in everything. I am a very busy and active person. I’ve got to take some time to find out what my body is needing and what am I doing wrong to have these unwanted levels? Thanks for any advice that you could give me I appreciate it.

A very popular surgery these days is to remove fat from the abdomen and transfer it to the bottom. Is this cosmetic procedure also producing health benefits?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 года назад +2

Transposition of fat is a very dangerous operation if it disrupts the fluid and electrolyte balance.
And the fat that is problematic in causing heart attacks is "visceral fat." That's the fat that surrounds your internal organs, not the superficial fat that is transplanted to other places.

I'm specifically paying attention to this heart attack series. I just had my DNA tested, and the health report showed nothing except slightly increase risk of Hereditary Thrombophilia. Troubling because my HRT can increase the risk for these blood clots.

Yes, but everything is relative. The whole key to managing your menopause is balancing YOUR benefits against YOUR risks. And the benefits and risks are different for every woman.
Please consider scheduling a consultation with me so that I can help you tailor everything specifically to YOU.

Not everyone with diabetes (Type 1 or 2) is overweight It's about a metabolic abnormality. Don't let a situation like your aunt's lull you into complacency.

It is. But you're assuming I said you can't have one without the other. That's not true. I was saying that obesity is one of the major causes of Type 2 diabetes. You can still have it without being obese.

Have you found any research of the benefit of fish/krill oil and omega-3s if any for heart health?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 года назад

The most basic thing to understand about the difference between the pharmaceutical industry and the supplement industry is that the supplement industry does not conduct studies. There IS no research.
Sometimes, medical research on pharmaceuticals compares a product to a supplement, which is how we learn most of what we know about supplements. But that industry does no research itself.
There is also no regulation or oversight of the supplement industry. So you never really know what you're getting.
This does not make supplements bad ... just difficult to assess.

This is to a matter of one being more "safe" than the other. It's just a matter of how the pros and cons of each apply to YOU personally. To address that, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation. The reason there are so many options is because women are all so different. You have to tailor everything to YOU, which is precisely what I do in consultations.
I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:

I will be 46 next month. I had an EKG about 6 months ago as a normal check-up and it was fine. However, I've noticed a significant increase in anxiety and rapid heartbeat in the last three months. Once, my heartbeat woke me out of my sleep and it took several minutes to calm it down. I've also never really had anxiety, so this strange feeling is really new to me. Should I have my heart checked again? Or is this just normal hormonal stuff?
