Watch this video this is what I decided to do. Silvertone Acoustic Guitar Bridge... Rebuild or Replace? ruclips.net/video/rY6VOg-VzpU/видео.html Cheers!
I've restored several of these birch body Harmony, Stella, and Silvertones. It was a great way for me to learn, but I found I couldn't sell them for anything so ended up giving them away.
The replacement bridge seems too big. I don't know if it would be easier to make a new bridge from scratch or modify the replacement, but I'd like to see how you modify the replacement to match the original footprint and profile as much as possible.
my first guitar. sears, $13. it came with a 45 rpm record of a guy plucking each string. then my dad spent hours trying to match the pitch on each string. it had a sporty red and black yarn rope strap. lastly a blue 8 x 10 sheet of paper with the words and chords to Clementine.
just picked up one of these but it's a bolt on neck with an insane amount of relief. I'm thinking about detaching the fingerboard and routing a truss rod into it
Good luck with this. Good job so far. New bridge looks too big. Maybe show them side by side? Can you find another eBay special that's a little closer to the original size? I have the exact same guitar btw. I love mine. Impressed how quickly you got that neck off.
String spacing is fine…but I think the original size and look is better for the guitar. These are definitely not expensive guitars and there’s lots around. Still cool though! Thanks for your comment!

Wow! I started learning to play guitar on one exactly like that in October of 1963.
Wow that’s cool! Do you still have it?
I’m so glad I found your channel. Really loved this video! I think the bridge you have looks pretty darn good!
Thanks so much…tune in this weekend and see what I decided. Cheers!
To stay in the style of the guitar I'd make a new bridge or cut down the wings on the new one.

You couldn't sell even one of them?! Wow.
You can get some money if they have pickups.
Off to a good start!
Thanks cheers!
I'm always glad when you have a new video. Thanks.
So nice of you! More to come…thanks!
That replacement bridge looks a wee bit bulky to me mate. Surely a remake is no problem to someone of your calibre! Cheers mate, I'm enjoying this.
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Cheers!

Good idea 👍 I think I’m leaning towards a rebuild, …Cheers,

Good idea! Leaning toward either remaking or rebuilding the original. I’m gonna take a closer look at the possibilities! Cheers!
It's easy for me to say but make a new bridge because the replacement you have is quite different than the original.
Yeah I think an original look is best…thanks!
Check the string spacing to see if you can use the bridge. But you already know that!

I would change it
