Chevy SS MyLink Black Trim Install

  • In this video I install the gloss black trim on the MyLink system. I decided that I wanted to try something different for the interior, while reducing some of the glare that’s inherent in the stock chrome trim. You can purchase the full kit online or buy them separately - the center console trim, steering wheel trim and the MyLink trim.

The black edtion comes with it.. Trust me just buy the whole kit.. i hate chrome.. it looks mismatched if you dont.. half the car interior is chrome.. Rest is gloss black.. i went a step further had a painter rip the whole car out and paint it all from the inside over a week.. Hate chrome

Chrome all they way! Blinded by the light

Thanks for the video man! I believe a 9/32" socket is about an 8mm or so. Might be a good idea to spray paint the trim piece flat black before the install, just to make sure the light doesn't reflect.

Thanks for the detailed vid, I didn't realise that piece is screwed on, I assumed it was just clipped like the other trim parts.. The glare from the chrome drives me crazy!

Hello Red SS. That looks very nice.
I am thinking of doing the same to my redline.

SV6 and SS came with black, the evoke (I think) and the HSV models came with the silver. My SV6 has black. Also all the mylink bolts are 7mm

Lol, true about sunglasses. After driving around the black trim does seem to help minimize glare.

They're screws, not bolts. Bolts have a nut on the end. Anyway, good video, thanks.

I don't understand, why does everyone settle for either black or chrome? I came across this video from wanting to vinyl color them either green or blue..
