STOP IT 😭 Not an AAPI tarot deck on burnout and adventure!!! I love how the Asian representation is more modern and focuses on Asian American representation/a setting outside of Asia. Don't get me wrong, I love our traditional dresses they're incredible, but I don't dress that way on a day to day basis 😂 As someone who also experiences burnout working in a clinical setting, this is now a must have for me! It seems to be a reminder to be gentle with yourself no matter where you are in life since the figures aren't children per say but having childlike fun. I cannot WAIT to use this (patience is a virtue I do not have) It's exactly what I've been needing in my practice and my birthday is in March 🥺 Thanks so much Lisa 💜💜💜
I saw the artwork of the Adventure Tarot and thought "okay, that's kinda cute" and then I saw the guidebook entries and had the same reaction you had - it's amazing, it's so fun and still gives good advise. And I don't even like travelling that much. But this seems so good! Oh and when you actually read the sample and not just look at the pictures, you are right: Scouts = Pages and Backpackers = Knights. And the title to that chapter explaining it is *"The Court Cards Got Woke"* - gods, I'm in love with this deck AND the book 😂
mushrooms sure are a thing. my daughter and I were remarking on it - not just decks, but xmas ornaments, kitchenware, puzzles, etc. etc. etc. they are everywhere!
The Matlock the Hare decks are so worth it. The entries in the guidebook are written like stories. These decks are my daily pull decks and have been for over a year now. I even got the PDFs of the books they wrote so I can read more. You should definitely jump on this one.
I have the Arboridium Oracle and I love it. Each card description in the guidebook reads like a fable. So a story with a meaning that is inferred. Quality is good and they tend to send art prints and/or cup coaster in their packages. They also sell the decks and storybooks about the characters and world on their Etsy shop. And while I love this deck and use it quite often, I don't feel the need to own them all.
I always love these hot take videos, Lisa! Thank you for them! And look, I LOVE the Matlock the Hare world and own three of the decks plus backed A Hare's Odyssey on the first day it launched -- but I'm not sure those decks would fit in well with how you typically use oracle decks. The artwork doesn't always obviously reflect the keyword. It does make sense when you read the stories in the guidebook, but just looking at the cards at a glance, the connection isn't always clear. There's also a lot of conlang ('Dalespeak' as Phil and Jacqui call it) which is super cute, but in a few of the cards, the keyword itself is Dalespeak which also makes it difficult to use for quick readings. Now, I intentionally have the decks to deep dive with the guidebook stories, and I have a TON of fun doing 'field trips' and RPG journaling with them. But for basic readings or daily draws, I'm not sure they would work as well. The coloring book would probably be a fun option for you, though!
Hiya! Thanks for mentioning the Oracle of the Hekatean Path. The Amazon listing images seem to feature a watermark, that was on preview images prior to a publication deal, but I can assure everyone that the final, published deck does not. 😊
My favorite line .. "if I can't pronounce it I'm probably not going to use it" 😂 I felt that so much when looking at that. I picked up the mystic palette in color and it is very vibrant and beautiful ❤
Look up the deck Mythologica Fennica! They are mass producing the deck now. The original is so colorful not sure why they changed the palate to much more blue tone. but its a very cool deck!!!!!
I have the White Hare Wisdom and love it for my more whimsical readings. It's such a warm and cosy deck. I haven't bought the other decks for much the same reason as you don't want to start buying them at all. That said, if they could ever be persuaded to make a tarot I wouldn't hesitate to hit the 'Back this project' button.
I love Wand Wood and the other decks. The art is amazing and the writing is soooo good. I pull cards to read the fable-like guidebook entry. I recommend them if you love story telling and world building type atuff 😅😊
On the Amazon page you showed for the old Ask Your Guides it actually says that there's a new version of the deck now available and links to the new one. :)
The Adventure Tarot: A Road Trip looks the most interesting to me out of all the decks. The write-ups seem to be a total vibe and I’m just overall loving the whole concept. I am 99.5% that it’s going in my cart right now. 😜💜
I promised myself no more pre-orders, but then you had to show The Adventure Tarot.... A tarot on burnout, releasing expectations and going your own way while being playful?! I HAD to order - I just had to! Plan on playing with it as soon as it lands in my hands. :)
Dear Lisa❤, thank you for showing the Oracle of the Hekatean Path🙏🏻! As a follower of Goddess Hekate I already preordered this deck and I am suuuuuuper excited to get it😲👍🏻😍😍😍!
Lisa how could you show how to add on all of the decks in that adorable wizard bunny universe 😂 I was being so good! But much like you I simply...must have it all...if I'm going to get one...hmmmmmmmm
Hi Lisa, I love these videos the most. I do love all your work though. I have all the Matlock the Hare decks and I love them and yes I have ordered the hares odyssey already. The cards are such beautiful card stock and there is so much detail in each card. Worth every cent. You know they will keep adding more decks to the collection. And then you will want them as well. I have no regrets at all with purchasing them. There is not much out there in the way of this art style....... its so story book and magical. There is a special feeling I get when I work with these decks and its hard to explain how you feel like your a part of their world while using them. Its like I am there somehow and I love traveling into each card to visit. You do you, but I would bite the bullet and treat yourself. Your Birthday is coming after all. Ha Ha 😃 Please say hello to Peggy for me. Take Care. Terri from Australia 🇦🇺 💜 🦘
A thought on those beautiful hare oddysey oracle card series - the Seasons of the Witch series is almost done, once you've completed that set, you could start on the one of Matlock the hare. 🤣
I just got the muted card version of the Ciro Marchetti deck. The nine of wands is labeled as the fool and there is no guidebook and the cards are huge!!!! There is apparently a kit one coming. I would hold out for that one as the other ones is a sticky matt cardstock
Awwww, the Jackalope as the lovers in the Cryptid deck💕💕 Kudos to the creator for depicting a proper Jackalope....with the Antelope horns instead of deer antlers. 😊 Dedicated Jackalope fan from Wyoming here. Lol.
OMG THAT ADVENTURE TAROT!!! Andrews McMeel is the BEST!!! They're my favorite for children's books for work too, just all-around amazing stuff they always put out!! I'm so curious about the neopets one too having the indie version. I think they're the same but I can't QUITE tell. I SCREAMED when you said that's how you and Peggy met, I somehow missed that detail but i love that so much!!!! I played from like 7 years old all the way through high school, I need to log back on soon!
Oh another thing! Have you considered a video where you go back and visit the kickstarter campaigns of decks you've shown? To see how they've come along, if there were issues, how it turned out, etc? I think it could potentially be really interesting but I also understand that might take a lot of time and may be likely to bring some drama which nobody wants. But I know you've used this video to revisit some you were skeptical about just to see. Might be interesting!
The Oracle of the Hekatean Path does not have that watermark on each card. I just got mine today. I will be going through it thoroughly tomorrow when I have time, but decent card stock and not sticky, but semi glossy. The images are quite interesting at first glance.
A lot of kickstarters are not charging for shipping during the campaign, they are charging it through backerkit later. At least that has been my experience over the last year or so.
Adventure Tarot is a must for me and the Hare's Odyssey is a possibility. I have two of their decks and do like them, though I hardly use them, hence the hesitation. Thanks for these hot takes!
