- Design and 3D Printing of a retro Macintosh Mouse Model M0100 from 1984. It's rechargeable and Wireless. I developed this mouse to have an ultimate Macintosh experience with Emulators. I call it the Nutshell W0100 Mouse..."W" stands for Wireless. Hope you like it :-)

This product was discontinued and won’t be for sale anytime soon.
It’s a shame your Etsy store doesn’t exist anymore, I was gonna buy one 😢
I wanna buy it, but this item is not available
Erm...
I too was going to buy one. Please come back to Etsy
Are you in any way related to those guys who sell stuff like that on Aliexpress?
Mounting the single microswitch through the scrollwheel hole with two, often ignored, holes at the bottom is definitely the showpiece of this project. What a treat.
Have you considered using the mouse feet? No doubt the paint will wear out at the bottom.
Hi Oleg, thanks for your comment. The mouse has already gone through several revisions. The version that I shipped to customers had rubber feets to prevent it from destroying the paint, and in the last version, I included left and right click, which is going to be available soon to everyone who likes to print it at home.
@@KevinNoki It's great to hear that you're improving on the project. I, myself, plan on making something similar, but with many more buttons.
Maybe you'd be interested in expanding your product line to have a MMO mouse. In my opinion, the available options are rather scarce. Razer Naga could serve as a great donor, being comparatively cheap on the aftermarket.
Awesome! I love that you made a whole new model for it rather than gutting existing broken mice... although I'm sure this way is a lot less expensive. ;D
Thank you! Yeah it breaks my heart when I see someone doing this with an Original Apple mouse. That’s the reason why I made this mouse :-)
Did you upload the files somewhere so people could make it themselves? @@KevinNoki
Great work! Both Retro Macintosh and W0100 Mouse are masterpieces!
Thank you very much! :-)
💯💯 for the build and having Aperion !
Thank you Christopher! I still love that game!
Now we need a wireless keyboard! You have totally inspired me to make one myself when I get a chance!
Wireless keyboard is already on my list :-)
I recently dig up both a keyboard and one of these mice from my grandparents house, was very happy to see it
This was a treat to watch. Would love to see the old IBM mouse with the two dot buttons.
Thank you :-) why not I’ll put it on my list and you might see it here in the future !
Wow! I have to say, I'm really impressed, you sure put a lot of time and work into this project and I'm amazed by the results! Great video!
Thanks man! You also have a great channel with content that i like I'm going to subscribe :-)
Best Regards
Kevin
That type-c port is so elegant on your mouse
Thank you it’s actually a micro USB port. Next version will be USB-C :-)
Arguably Apple's dogged insistence on single click mice did them a lot of harm as time went on. Maybe early on the concept was fine but then Windows 3.1, 95 etc showed up and it turned out that yes having a second button, even a scroll wheel on a mouse was something people liked and found useful.
Great project!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you ! :-)
This is pretty cool
I would say a good idea would be to make it so that the single button works like a Apple Magic mouse. It can detect which side for right or left click, and gestures work with something similar but not exactly like a trackpad (ie. Without the tracking). That would bring it to the next level.
Cant wait to see more mate! Cheerios
Thank you mate! Yeah that would be great I’ll try to find a solution for this thanks for your input :-)
Fantastic video and mouse. Thank you.
Many thanks!!!
Look at that! RAL 7044! I just found filament for FDM printers in that color.
Hi Joe! Yes that’s the closest color for retro computers I was able to find out. RAL 7038 and 7037 might also work :-)
Awesomeness itself! I hope it’s back soon!
this is really cool!
Thank you! :-)
Bring this back! I missed out :(
Yes! very very soon :-)
6:48 The world of Nail design.
Great work! I really like it
Thank you !
Sad that isn't available anymore :( What a great mouse!
Thank you Carlos! Please be patient it will be back soon
Carlos don't worry Buy it on eBay
8:28 Ich glaab, ich spinne! Ene Düsseldorfer Jong!
This is incredibly cool
Thank you my friend!
Hi ! When you shop is gonna open? Can't wait to buy this!
Hi Deni! Thanks for your interest I’ll probably open beginning of next month I’ll give you an update asap:-)
You're welcome! If you're reading this, I would like to suggest a project idea - printing out the real size original Macintosh and making it work like an actual vintage one! (The vintage thing costs like 12 times more than the DIY). The case link is www.thingiverse.com/thing:152645 . Thanks for you time!
@Deni Naumov Yes someone asked me this already in the previous comment this will be my next project since I own a Macintosh classic I’ll Build the 3D model by myself so I can be sure that all measurements are correct :-) I’m trying to get a Macintosh Plus but these are very rare !
The onlineshop is now open! The Link is in the Description and thanks for your patience :-) !
Now 3D print a matching keyboard!
Will do! :-)
@@KevinNoki You are getting a sub!
definitely like it. but why not leave both buttons? it was simply necessary to change the key to one that can be pressed from two sides. make a longitudinal axis to make it impossible to press both buttons at once
Been looking everywhere for something like this. Do both sides of that button work like a normal mouse would?
I would absolutely love one of these but looks like the Etsy shop is no longer avail. Will there be a second run?
Sure, the shop is online again :-)
Pure awesomeness!
Thank you my friend !!!
As nostalgic as I am for the Mac classic, those old mice were seriously uncomfortable.
True, but i won't miss it anymore for the full retro experience when using an emulator :-)
When will you make another batch?
Unglaublich, richtig gut!
@@KevinNoki Klingt super! Da bin ich mal gespannt
Excuse my ignorance but what kind of 3D Printing is that? I never seen some print come out of a liquid before
Hey Daniel, no worries at all! Asking questions is how we learn. 😊 This is called an LCD 3D printer. It works by hardening liquid resin layer by layer with UV light shining through a display panel at the bottom of the printer. It's fast and perfect for creating detailed objects. However, you might not see it commonly because it can be messy to clean, the resin fumes aren't great for health, and affordable Devices often have smaller build volumes compared to the common FDM 3D Printers.
Hi Johannes! Danke dir mein lieber viele Grüße! 👊🏻
well, very good. Do you never think to print the Powermac 6100 front cd cover or the Quadra 610 frond cd cover (cd with the caddy)? Thanks
Thank you! Since I don’t have any of these models in my collection I won’t be able to recreate the CD Cover without proper measurements.
@@KevinNoki ok thanks. All the 610 and 6100 have the cd cover damaged. It colud be a good idea 😊
Realistically, if this was to imitate an actual Apple product, the usb port would be on the underside.
3D printed keyboard next??
My immediate thought when you brought out the Macintosh Pi was that it's almost the same size as the mouse, could you fit the Pi into the mouse?
This is pretty slick wear can i buy one?? My only suggestion would be make the button grey like the original mouse
Thank you :-) I’m working on the onlineshop so it will be available soon! Actually it is almost colormatched Apple made different versions of this mouse you can find pictures on google... but you’re right the color will be exactly like the original on end product
@@KevinNoki How much will this mouse cost when its available??
Can’t tell you anything about the prices at the moments, because I’m still setting up my production and need to calculate the expenses. But I’ll update you when i know more
@@KevinNoki Any updates?
@@heyhocodyo97 Hi the production is almost ready to start. Shop Opening is set to March 15, 2021. Thanks for your patience :-)
Are the plans and part list available? If not can you still buy this?
Only 7k views, crazy
Are the files for this project available anywhere? I'd buy one from your etsy shop, but I see you've taken it down...
Coming soon :-)
@@KevinNoki Wonderful!!! I eagerly await this :)
What tool did you use to measure the mouse?
This is a caliper :-)
@@KevinNoki thank you
👍🏾👏🏽
😀🙏🏻
I wood of yust a old mouse off ebay form the 2000s
Is the model available ? So I can 3D print it myself.
Not yet! I need to adjust the 3D Model so it’s compatible with another PCB. The electronics that I used for the mouse are not available anymore so you won’t be able to 3D print a functional mouse at the moment.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😃🍻
Should have left the bottom grey.
Charging cable at the bottom? 😂😂
Yeah, great idea 😂
