I just found this, you are great! I've been a carpenter for 40 plus years. Always admired carving, just never had the time to learn. I make custom rail parts and do real basic carving. Sadly oak, mahogany and maple. I once in awhile make cabinet feet. You are something else, learned a lot watching you. You're very fortunate that you had that Greek to mentor you. I had my mentor's too, lucky I had them. You've given me the encouragement to try and do more carving. Thanks Mary, great name and a great song! Be well
I always enjoy watching Mary's approach to carving. She makes it seem so ........ easy. My first attempt at carving was with maple and then with red oak - probably not a great idea for a beginner. LOL.
Loved it. Mary May is wonderful.
Thanks so much!!
Just beautiful. I enjoyed looking at the carving process.
Thank you!
Excellent presentation Mary. Thank-you.
Thanks!!
Great demo Mary ..
Thank you so much!
Very well done!!! Going to see about doing some of her projects
Thanks!!
I like that kabunger old Mallett you found but prefer the ones you use for carving.
Guess I made a mistake with my alarm ⏰. 😔
26:00 instead of taping the work to a board and then clamping the board to the bench why not just tape the work to the bench?
Because I would not be able to rotate the wood freely without un-taping it. I like to always carve away from myself, and if it is taped to the bench there will be quite a few times where I will cut towards myself. Not only awkward cuts, but unsafe.
