I've loved watching your videos! I'm a first term OT student and ever since my interview process I've been keeping up with your channel. I'm excited to go into fieldwork and I'm excited to see how your journey is going during COVID.
I start my level 2 FW in the summer so nervous since all my level 1's were virtual (imposter syndrome is real) but I am very excited. Thanks for sharing your experiences. So glad you are now at 1k subbies :)
I just received the email that my school got me a placement! I am so excited, so nervous, and just feeling ALL of the things! I am worried that I have lost a lot of skills since I had a long break in between classes and finding a placement (thanks COVID) I hope your fieldwork experience is great and you learn all the skills you need! Love the video.
Thank you so much for your support! I felt the same exact thing before I started! It'll all come back to you, for sure! Good luck with your fieldwork!!!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to plan and record videos to the OT community 🖤 you are exactly what I was looking for when made the switch from a student PTA to OT. Glad to see people who look like me spreading awareness for the field. Keep up the good work it’s not going unnoticed 🥰👏🏾
What should I study im a cota and going to have my level to first rotation in January in a pediatrics setting in person not virtually? Im so nervous! Congratulations on your clinicle experience 👏
what do you find are the biggest differences about working as an OT for a school board vs a paediatric clinic? and which setting do you think you would prefer to work in?
I would say the biggest difference is probably the amount of patients you see and the interventions! In schools you have a huge caseload and your interventions can tend to be more repetitive since you have a lot of kids that need to work on the same thing! In clinics you have a smaller caseload and you’re interventions change more often since you see a wider range of diagnoses!! Hope this helps! And I prefer working in schools 😊
Thank you for your comment! I am not completely sure but I do feel that OT is a growing profession so in my opinion I think it is possible! Hope this helps you :)

How did you earn money or support yourself during this time? I’m in OTA school and we have 16 weeks coming up for level 2.

Congratulations! I would start with developmental milestones and then study how to work on those things with different interventions!! Good luck 😊

Great question. I would love to know 🧐

I found them from Amazon!! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZJ2SQT7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Do you think OTA will still be in demand in 10yrs

Undergrad here I had no idea that level two's were for 6 months! Is that common? Also do you have any normal school work/classes/reports in that time?
Yeah!! It’s for 6 months which is kinda short compared to other professions! And just little assignments but nothing like huge 😊
