This story had been told to me by Raj, an Indian buddy of mine ... Once a politician visited an Indian village and asked what their needs were. ”We have two basic needs sir,” replied the villager. “Firstly, we have a hospital, but there’s no doctor.” On hearing this, the politician whipped out his cellphone, and after speaking for a while he reassured the village leader that the doctor would be there the next day. He then asked about the second problem. “Secondly sir, there is no cellphone coverage anywhere in the village.” * Moscow, Russia
I write this as a US born child of immigrants from India. I was raised Hindu, in Chicago (my birthplace), along with my younger sister. My parents were medical doctors. My sister is a medical doctor. I am an engineer. Few inaccuracies were present. They included the following: 1) the surname of Singh is commonly associated in India with those who practice the Sikh faith...not Christianity or Catholicism. 2) India has diverse people with different backgrounds. This includes food. Not all of Indian food is meat based. Not all Indian food is spicy. As far as traditions, Christmas is celebrated, but to varying degrees and gusto. Also, I speak from experiencing reality myself. I am of Indian background, yet my wife is 20 years is not Indian. She is South Vietnamese Roman Catholic. We have had to forge our own way, as I am Indian background, and she is Vietnamese background. Although we are both Asian, culture varies dramatically between South Asia and Southeast Asia. Still, there is a way to do it, and there difference is not vast if you look at people as people and not by their ethnicity of cultural background. Yeah, there are differences, but it just takes learning and growing.
I am glad you spoke as you did ! Thanks! ...Sikh & Hindi are not the only two Indian religions, either. But it's a movie, I guess we can't expect perfection. That's not what bothered me about it, but what you said was said so well. Thanks again!

I loved the hospital tv series she was in as a brilliant doctor. So mad when it ended.
What was the name of the series you please…
He is so cute - I liked him in Virginia River (on Netflix)
Loved it.... But honestly, I felt the ending was a little rushed... Just my opinion though.
Asha’s father is being a total ass
