Increased human life expectancy is one of the greatest breakthroughs in modern history. We have more than doubled the global average in the last 100 years, but the length of our healthspan, the time we spend in good health, has not increased at the same rate. With the population of people over 60 expected to almost double from 12% to 22% between 2015 and 2050, we have an urgent need to find novel solutions for healthy aging.
On today’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy, I’m excited to talk to my good friend Dr. Peter Diamandis about how we can apply the latest science and technology in the field of longevity to optimize not only how long we live but how vibrant and healthy we remain as we age.
Peter is a serial entrepreneur, futurist, technologist, New York Times bestselling author, and the founder of more than 25 companies. Fortune magazine has named Peter “one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders,” and he is the Founder and executive chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation, which has launched more than $300 million in incentive competitions, driving more than $3.5 billion in R&D (most recently launching the $100 million Gigaton Carbon XPRIZE funded by Elon Musk to combat climate change). Peter’s venture fund, BOLD Capital Partners, is deploying $600M+ into exponential technologies and health-biotech. Peter has written four New York Times bestsellers, and his life’s mission is to empower entrepreneurs to create a hopeful, compelling, and abundant future for humanity.

I really hate it when people say we have doubled our life span. Makes it sound like everyone died on their 40th birthday. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin lived to 83 & 84. I say people were healthier 200 years ago. EVERYONE ate organic vegetables, grass fed beef and pastured egg. NOBODY drank 44 oz big gulps. The "statistics " got watered down from childhood deaths and trauma deaths.

I love how humble Mark is! He is willing to listen to everyone and highlight their strengths. Great conversation! Thank you Peter and Mark.

I listened to your pod cast I agree about trying to live longer and healthier However there is one denominator you don't consider and that is that Life does not belong to us but given to us by God as I believe in .n your podcast I heard you say " God only knows". Focus on those words and meditate on them.

Thank you for this tremendous information. It literally transforms my thinking about my health, what I choose or choose not to eat, & when….. these principals have helped me out of my prediabetic state & my blood sugars are in normal range now. Thank you!

  • @TimBitts649

I got healthier during Covid. I said the best way to fight it is get healthier. So I concentrated on getting healthier, eating better. Lost weight, plus gained muscle from using a home gym. Men is Switzerland live 15 years longer than men in Russia. Why? Better lifestyle, habits.

Great interview! Learned what I needed and ignored the rest ❤

Caloric restriction sounds terrible for longevity. But not how we conduct mouse experiments. In the 1950s most people were normal weight, ate 3 times a day without in between meal snacks, involved in their work, were physically active. Their bodies used glucose and ketones for energy.

  • @LashusJourney

    Thanks for sharing, great information.

  • @mattalex8701

I think most people who end up here in this channel and follow Mark agrees that life and health is the most precious tool we have.

  • @wmp3346

If you are working out everyday you will not lose muscle. Eating makes me hungry and leads to overeating. Same age and I am pretty sure I look better then the good doc Pete with my own personal protocol.

  • @carrieg8779

His program sounds great but shows good healthcare is for the wealthy. No way could I afford that.

  • @Maddy0418

Well who the heck wants 2 live so long when the ones you love the most have already left?

  • @SilverFan21k

    2 awesome people

  • @Bass.Player

I would not take rapamycin either. Unless I needed a transplant...

  • @ColoradoVickyOfficial

Thank you Dr Mark Hyman for talking about DAO enzyme for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome! It saved my 8 years of diarrhea. ❤

how do we get to be a particiant in the teams treatment ?

  • @patrickrealestate-8193

    Fountain life meets Function health

  • @user-yx8ce8vm4t

Great info. But it seems like functional medicine is high end medicine is so expensive and not available to the masses due to the expense. So indigent and middle class people would not be able to afford this type of testing. Please include poor people in your studies. This type of medical screening should not be only available to the rich and privileged.

  • @jackiebrown5659

I appreciate everything being said. But how does a person know what's going on inside your body and so msny of these things you are talking about without lots of money. I would like someone to help us who do not have so much financial resources

  • @kenmelottejr6379

So much respect for Mark; yet I don’t think the thumb nail…Stay Young Forever? Even with the question mark is helpful.
