Jennie and Jisoo co-wrote the lyrics to this title track and Jennie co-produced this along with their usual producers and David Guetta, who produced "Titanium" and "Hey Mama."
We can now see the potential of the girls when given the opportunity to make something for themselves. They have had opportunies before (Stay and As If It's Your Last are examples) but we experience a much more satisfying and fulfilling song when it's from their hands and minds.
I don't mean to give the conception that Blackpink is just handed their songs. They *do* work on their songs with their producers. YG's previous CEO didn't exactly credit or make a statement on what the girls participated in, but the girls did reveal (a few times) in interviews and their diaries what they did. Thankfully, this new CEO is getting things in order :)

'Sup GLITCH, the girl that was crying in the bathtub is Rosé, the guy that made her cry😢 was in the beginning, she was first playing guitar with him then later in the video they were painting the wall together. He was also the guy that Lisa was leaning on and the guy that Jennie was fighting with in the car. I really appreciate the return of rapper Jennie. It's been about 2 years!
Her lyricism is incredible too. I love the line: "Didn't wanna be a princess, I'm priceless." This is a slap to all the haters who call her "YG's princess" just for having more solo (pun intended) content than the other members. Even if you're not a hater, Jennie is generally known as the "princess" of YG so it's awesome and empowering that she stood up for herself and said something.

When you list each member’s solo activities since their debut (2016), you’ll find out that Jennie is NOT even the member with the most solo gigs. It’s just that her solo gigs get more impact that people think she’s being promoted the most. Even in regards to their solo endorsements, Jennie is not the top 1 out of 4 of them. But then, again, her solo endorsements (which you can actually count with 2 hands) bring a lot of impact and buzz, most especially in South Korea, that’s why she has been recognized as one of the top female idols in the industry. With simple things that Jennie gets (say for example a red lipstick on her & YES blinks got mad that Jennie got a red lipstick and not the other members), haters call her “YG Princess” that it’s become a habit of them. But if Jisoo or Rosé or Lisa gets the same thing, they say “Jisoo/Rosé/Lisa deserves it”. See the double standards? Jennie gets soooo much hate 24/7 from her own fandom that her fans have to take a break from social media cuz it gets so hard to read posts that se*ualize, bodyshame, s*utshame, spread fake info/rumors about her, even de*th thr*ats.. hate posts about Jennie that get thousands of RTs/shares/likes and if you’re new to the fandom, you’ll be surprised that most hate posts that get viral come from the blink fandom. What hurts the most is that Jennie is aware of, if not all, most of the hate and negative posts about her (that’s why she once posted an apology letter ON HER BIRTHDAY when she was supposed to be enjoying and celebrating😭)
FYI: Jennie’s rap lines in Lovesick Girls were written by her. And it was revealed that she wouldn’t have had a rap part if it wasn’t for her writing the lyrics herself. So yeah, I am also glad to hear her rapping again, even if it’s too short. :)
