Tremendous step by step setup of this Pergola. Although it couldn't possibly be put up in 50 minutes unless you had a team of 10, however, your video made the whole thing easy to understand to complete. Thank you man! I have one nice looking pergola all finished and ready to enjoy because of this video!
Great video! I got a similar clearance pergola from Lowes. Installation tip for the column bolts that you had issues with: I used a piece of scotch tape to temporarily attach the screw to the allen wrench to get it started which worked great. I also dropped the first one into the column. Thanks for the very helpful step by step instructions.
We were trying to put this together and we got stuck on step 2! The instructions do not bother to tell you that part ‘F’ opens up! We were so frustrated I even called Lowe’s to see if I could pay someone to install this, (answer was no). After I watched this video I put everything together, and now just waiting for the ‘muscle’ to get her and raise it up and assemble it. EXCELLENT video, thanks
I bought a disassembled floor model on clearance; it came with no instructions. Your video helped with a couple things I needed to figure out. Thanks! :)
That Pergola is amazing. My mom has been wanting one of these for a while. She may pay a contractor but I am going to show her this. Great idea Jeff. Domo arigato!
I watched your video and wanted to say THANKS! I bought one and will install this afternoon by myself. With my unskills, it may take all afternoon LoL.
@@Jeffreviews4u It took my wife and I 3 hours to put it together. The Hardest part was trying to put the two outside frames together. NOW, I am looking to find, if I can, a retractable rail system so I can close and open the canopy cover electronically......Help everyone to find one!! Thanks, David
@7:03 There is a way to set this up by yourself. You have to assemble the frame upside down. After you complete the setup, just walk the unit up carefully. First, stand it up on its side, then grab the top legs and start walking until the unit is upright. The frame will bend, but it won't be damaged. But if you don't like risking damage, just use ropes to pull it upright. Again, lay the unit on its side, then tie ropes to the four corners on the top: two on the roof, and two on the bottom of the legs, then start pulling the unit upright. It is effortless if you try it. But if you're impatient like me, just walk it up even if it bends:-D I would also suggest using a plank ladder. You'll have more mobility, and it is safer to use because you'll have more space to support yourself. I use the Gorrila heavy-duty plank ladder. Max height is 30," so you'll get an 8' to 10' reach, depending on how tall you are.
Hey, Jeff. Awesome video, thanks for walking us through the setup. Please let us know how it holds up during wether and the summer thunderstorms after a few months. Thanks a bunch.
Great vid thanks for putting it out. Quick question, the Allen Roth description says the pergola is 10x10, but the dimensions on one of the pics for this pergola on the Lowes website says 11.31x11.31. What are the actual dimensions at the post? Asking because I want to put a patio paver pad down first. Thanks in advance.
Just purchased this, legs were also dented lol. I’m sure forklift damage. They don’t come with Styrofoam protecting it, just little pieces of cardboard.
Is there a specific water proof top that is recommended? One that specifically stretches out to the open sides as well. (The sides that do not have the stock curtains that come with the pergola)
Could you add some type of clear or sun proof plastic roof to this? I bought one a couple of years ago and enjoy, but would like something a little more weather proof. Thoughts?
Awesome video.... and I would like to get one. I dont get very much time off of work but this is an awesome duable project. Unfortunately my wife is still not sold on the idea. Gonna change my persuasive speech. Wish me luck
Lol...my wife persuaded me to get this...didn't take much persuading. Hahaha. It does provide a lot of relief from the sun. I'm glad I picked one up. If you end up getting one, let me know what you think.
Great job 👏. It looks great. Unfortunately, this wouldn't hold up very long here in the SW of Texas. The sun would eat up the cover in less than 8 months. It's been 108* here and the wind is horrible 😫
I saw his marked down half price at my local Lowes. I want something temporary for my outdoor kitchen until I can build something more permanent. It looks like the top is a mesh material. Does it hold of rain or does it come thru? Great video and I'm sure it will save me some time if I decide to purchase it.
Hey Jeff, Thanks for this great video! I ordered the same and I’ll be getting this in few days. Can you pls suggest screw size to mount this pergola on a deck? Just wanted to get everything ready before it is delivered 😊
I bought some 3 inch lag bolts I think they were 9/16, and some big washers. I bought the ones that were threaded to the top just incase they were only going into the deck board...I ended up getting at least 2 on each side into the framing. Hope this helps...let me know what you think.
I purchased the same pergola and some of the parts (F1 ferrule) were damaged and I contacted both Lowe’s and Allen Roth. I was told by both of them that neither could help me with replacing those parts.
Good job, great video! I was skeptical of the 50-minute installation, it would take me that long to inventory the parts! Do you know if Lowes offers installation of this pergola? Thanks again, nicely done.
We've had some pretty strong wind and the top has held up very well. I made sure to bolt it down after one wind storm pushed it off the deck. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
BOUGHT MINE 3 YRS AGO AND THE CURTAINS AND ROOF CLOTH IS TRASHED NOW. RIPPED TO SHREDS FROM SUN AND WIND . NOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A REPLACEMENT KIT FOR THOSE ITEMS. CURTAINS AND ROOF CLOTH - WTH IS IT THIS WAY ?
That stinks, sorry to hear your experience. This summer, the zipper on my curtain broke, I was able to put on a new zipper. The top is hanging in there. We don't have any snow or ice in the winter so the top doesn't get much weight. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 👍
