Respectfully Jay. Not disconnecting the camera doesn’t remove the requirement to recalibrate the camera. The reason is that if the bracket on the replacement windshield that the camera sits in is just a degree or two out which as we all know is often the case, the camera will not be pointing in the right direction hence the requirement to recalibrate. In the event if that vehicle being involved in a wreck or even worse a fatality the investigators will come to you for proof that the camera was recalibrated and as the professional you will be deemed to have carried out an unsafe installation as the camera is an integral part of the installation. Even if the customer has signed a disclaimer you’ll still be on the hook for it as a professional glass installer you should know better whereas the customer in most cases is purely financially driven. Just food for thought.
Yes and no its a big topic up for debate tbh. In this video tho the camera on the jeep gladiator isn’t even mounted to the glass so recalibration is even less likely to be needed.
Can you do a video on how to replace a windshield on an 2018 wrangler JL ? It should be easier because the whole windshield assembly can be removed from the jeep.
Why did you unscrew everything from the lane departure camera when the camera is not mounted to the glass? Gladiators are like wranglers, they are made for the windshied to lay down on the hood so you could have just started to lay down the windshield forward and put protector in and put it back up.
This was my first Jeep gladiator I had done at this time. I was not sure what I was getting into. Even then you still have to unclip the two heating elements on the glass (if it has lane departure or thr antenna in the glass). I also wanted to provide space so I did not trim the plastic just in case. I wouldn’t fold the front frame seems unnecessary and excessive.

Hi Jay thanks for the video. Question. I had my windshield install. But I notice black paint and black sharpie mark around the windshield. Was this just a poor install and they try to cover up something? You are right Jeep owner are picky ;)
They defiantly scratched something and tried to cover it up with sharpie or black primer.
Is it hard getting the rear glass for the gladiator with the sliding door?
