Taken in by a kindly couple, a six-inch-tall boy takes on a pair of comical crooks in this adaption of a classic Grimm fairy tale. Oscar and Golden Globe-winner Russ Tamblyn ("Peyton Place") and Oscar-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Peter Sellers ("The Pink Panther") star in this enjoyable fantasy. Terry-Thomas ("It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World") received a British Academy Award nomination for his hilarious performance as a bungling villain. Great Oscar-winning special effects that combine live actors, animation and puppets. Directed by legendary Oscar-honoree George Pal ("Puppetoons" shorts). Featuring songs by Oscar and Emmy-nominee Peggy Lee. Film critic Leonard Maltin writes "Excellent children's picture..." and awards it 3-1/2 stars!

I just remembered that this was my favourite film as a very young child, more of a baby really. After hearing the music for the first time in about twenty five years, I burst into tears! I can't wait to watch it again. Many happy memories ^_^
This movie was memorable as a kid. The special effects were state of the art for that time. Russ Tamblyn is a great dancer.
The title song used to drive me nuts and couldn't get it out of my head :)
Just saw this movie today. I wish I would have seen this as a kid. Russ Tamblyn was quite the acrobat! June Thorburn sure was a lovely woman.

J'ai adoré ce film étant petite également ! Et tout pareil, les effets spéciaux étaient bons pour l'époque. Il est certain que si on le visionne pour la première fois en 2013, ça semble médiocre.
