@@oscarshen6855 true true, you got a good point there. I guess it just all comes down to the type of injury, the specific location of the injury, and how it was acquired. For example, the people in this who had blunt trauma to the chest or back area, sure most of them might be able to walk away with just minor bruises because the human body can be resilient like you said. However, the guy who was hung by his femur, if the grapple pierced his femoral artery or nerve (which judging by the video seems highly likely) he would likely suffer permanent paralysis in that leg and/or bleed to death. Just from a thin puncture wound in just the right place. So yeah, I guess it just depends on the situation.
As a forensic anthropology major, it's pretty amazing how many skeletal injuries there are. Also I would like to add something, the guy in 4:01 would also have injuries to his face. As his face hit onto the ground, it likely that he'll get a broken nose, chipped mental protuberance (chin) , maybe some broken teeth and a frontal bone freature depending how he landed.

The slowmotion makes it obvious how the actors (thankfully) don't actually hit each other. The sound design plays a big part here, the thuds and whacks really sell the hits!
It also depends a lot on how well the fights are coordinated & directed, something like John Wick is going to seem far more impressive when analysed closely like this due to the nature of how it was produced.

Yea you don't pull it out, I had a nail shot into my thumb a few years back and if I would have pulled it out it would have caused a hell of a lot more damage to my thumb due to it being only millimeters away from the two nerves running on both sides of it and not bleeding to all hell because of the swelling and the object being still in. At least thats what I got from the doctor explaining it so don't let my word be the whole truth I might have misinterpreted and forgotten some things
6:25. As Batman casts about, fending off four attackers at once, note that he's deflecting bullets and knife blades with the wing-tips on his gauntlets. Those tips are sharpened steel blades capable of cutting a sword into pieces, and when he hits one of the thugs in the face with them, they will inflict both muscular and bone damage.

Y'know, when watching this scene originally, I was only mildly irritated by the brutality Batman put on display. But after hearing about the many complications and permanent issues stemming from these injuries, I'm actually a lot more shocked. Now, I'm well aware that the people who coordinate these kinds of scenes tend to not have medical experience and plan the scenes to be visually impressive, pleasing, or at least viciously cathartic for the audience. But now that you've provided some pretty gruesome insight, I can't help but imagine Alfred reading a medical report to Bruce, and Alfred getting increasingly abhorred as he goes through, while Bruce just looks at him with that "you think I give a shit?" look on his face. Would be a pretty classic "Alfred reminding Bruce that he went too far" moment.

just a minor suggestion for future videos, have a "loss of hearing counter" in the corner that goes up whenever a gun is fired next to, or by someone not wearing ear protection.
gunfire is by itself loud enough to cause loss of hearing, inside a room it's even worse and than there is a hand grenade involved, everybody in this scene should suffer loss of hearing, paired with temporary or even permanent deafness.

Me: meh it’s not bad he can still walk

True. We get so used to seeing these kinds of fights in movies that we sometimes forget how fragile the human body actually is.
@@matthewbeland8443 yup we do
@@matthewbeland8443 He said he was assuming the worst possible injury. Human body are actually tougher than many people think. I have been in this kind of situation several times when I was a teenager, including falling from a bike at very high speed, hitten by a car, I was pretty convinced I had broken bones, but I was OK.

Considering the bad stuff the mercenaries do in the ultimate cut, i see they had it coming lol.
That's what I say about all the criminals Batman faces.
Can I just say how much I like your timestamps? I laughed so hard at "Rage mode activated" 😂😂
EDIT: I just saw Batman pull out the knife out of his body. If I've got something stuck in my body, I always thought I should leave it in and call emergency services to avoid bleeding out when pulling it out. Is this correct?
That is correct! Often times the object stuck in your body is stopping the blood flow. Don't pull it out yourself!
You're right. But he's Batman so it's only a minor injury for him.
@@lunakelly2113 That's because his creator, Bob Kane, wasn't a doctor, lol!
But possibly, his thick armoured suit might've caught the knife, so that the wound might not be deep enough to be severe.

The Raid: Redemption. The first corridor scene. I'd really like your breakdown of it!
The way you explain all these injuries has shown me that Batfleck is even MORE brutal than I thought 😳 YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
This Batman don’t screw around. He will end you.
The fight scenes in RDJ's Sherlock Holmes could be good, although Holmes did already explained the effects of the inflicted damages to his opponent.
But are they accurate.
When Affleck's Batman gets pulled around by his grappling gun, he looks like some sort of animal. I like that.

Batman's blood is on the knife... omg, that could possibly expose his identity if forensic scientists got a hold of that 😱
I normally hate these 'experts break down' videos but I'll make an exception for the greatest Batman scene of all time
Y'know, when watching this scene originally, I was only mildly irritated by the brutality Batman put on display.
Did you not pay any attention any Bruce/Alfred scenes? I take it you didn’t. 🤦🏻♂️
@@Xerxez22 I'll be honest, I only watched a bunch of these action scenes, but never the entire movie. So no, I did not pay attention.

Jack Bauer has done worse to lesser people than these.

When I watch these kinds of videos it always makes me empathize more with those who are being bitten up, even if they're the bad guys - which is a good thing I guess since these movies usually dehumanize them a lot. And it always makes me think about how fragile human beings actually are 😅 Thanks for the video!
I feel the same!
The Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Junior have one or more fight scenes where Sherlock performs some 'rapid fight scene trauma diagnosis' of his own mid fight scene. I'm pretty sure Game of Shadows has one near the beginning in a London market where I believe he even goes so far as to estimate how much time each mook will be spending in the hospital in the middle of the fight
