I think its a combination of her having a very boring design, the toons neglecting and taking advantage of her, and her own toon bandler neglecting to take care of her that caused her to be enraged. First, her design is very boring and confusing and her niche of a dinosaur nerd is very specific. Her color pallete consists of very boring browns, which doesnt make her stand out compared to the rest of the colorful cast. Also, her design is very confusing. My theories are: Since dinosaurs are a part of history and many children hate history, they may not like her because of all her facts + dinosaurs are known for boys liking them and Shelly is a female. i think yall need some game lore Lore I suppose I'm just trying to learn what others believe about the lore in this game, and I would like to know what others believe as well. If this does end up being posted in the wrong spot I am sorry. The Location - Dandy's World is in fact an Education centre being said in an article found in one of the various rooms. So this is has been established. The Twisted Toons - I believe everyone knows that the toons were corrupted by Ichor. There was in fact a operation that was lead by Dandy being the head of the operation and it would end up being his fault. Dandy would also become infected by this Ichor as many know because of his twisted form. I believe the reason why we see Dandy in his normal form then his twisted form would be because of the tapes. The tapes are probably the reason due to the fact that Dandy sells us stuff for our tapes. The more you don't give the tapes to him the more you hear the music distort. Which would be because of him running out of tapes. Once he finally becomes twisted you can hear the music and how distorted its become. You can also hear the same music where Dandy is usually found. Most likely because he is running the tapes so he doesn't become twisted. A small detail when Dandy is going through his twisted stages you can see a tear on Dandy's face which most likely means he does not want it to happen. However this could be debunked because of the dialogue once Dandy goes back to his original form. Little Map Details - Once you reach the cafeteria and what I will call the storage floor you find rooms with Ichor on the floor with footprints. I believe these are most likely Dandy as they are the only one that I know of the leave Ichor footprints. There is also a contract in one of the rooms where the founder signs a loan. This would be placed in 1994 most likely being the income used for the opening. What I Believe Is Happening - I believe we have come back to free our friends from the Ichor. This could be supported by the text from the "Extraction Cells" (that's what I will be calling them). saying "Extract Ichor". Most likely being us extracting the Ichor from the buildings hopefully freeing our friends from it. This could also be supported by the dialogue between the toons. We most likely have no clue the Dandy was the man in charge of the Ichor Operation and we don't know he caused all of this. This place has been closed for some time due to the debris. Finally what is one of my biggest questions. Did Dandy mean to cause this? I believe no. I think that the operation simply went wrong and spread from toon to toon corrupting them. Dandy was able to find a way to keep himself from becoming twisted but only for some time. It is most likely he took the most Ichor from this operation. That could explain why Dandy is the biggest twisted. You can also tell by the way Dandy acts while going through the stages of becoming twisted he is some what scared. My theories are:
Since dinosaurs are a part of history and many children hate history, they may not like her because of all her facts + dinosaurs are known for boys liking them and Shelly is a female. There is also a poster that has Shelly in it and it says 'sorry, I forgot your name' which means that the other kids just say things like 'oh, yeah, cool' without actually listening, which means that they may not pay attention to her name much. The participation award is kinda linked to her ability. She participates in everything and never wins because the ppl don't like her much, so she supports everyone instead because she already knows she will lose. And her twisted form tells me that maybe since no one saw dinosaurs because they are extinct, she decided to bring and show that dinosaurs can be dangerous especially when angry and she gives you the confused debuff because the toons forgot about her and are confused about who she might be and not understand why she is a dinosaur because they never listen to her facts and, like I said, dinosaurs are known for boys to like them instead of girls. Edit 1: I remembered that shrimpo hates everyone and he obviously hates Shelly's facts and probably says, 'yeah, whatever. Nobody listens to you and nobody likes you.' We can also see that Shelly's plushies are still stocked, meaning that nobody bought them. She is obviously gonna be sad about it and brush it off. I'm just trying to learn what others believe about the lore in this game, and I would like to know what others believe as well. If this does end up being posted in the wrong spot I am sorry.
The Location -
Dandy's World is in fact an Education centre being said in an article found in one of the various rooms. So this is has been established.
The Twisted Toons -
I believe everyone knows that the toons were corrupted by Ichor. There was in fact a operation that was lead by Dandy being the head of the operation and it would end up being his fault. Dandy would also become infected by this Ichor as many know because of his twisted form. I believe the reason why we see Dandy in his normal form then his twisted form would be because of the tapes. The tapes are probably the reason due to the fact that Dandy sells us stuff for our tapes. The more you don't give the tapes to him the more you hear the music distort. Which would be because of him running out of tapes. Once he finally becomes twisted you can hear the music and how distorted its become. You can also hear the same music where Dandy is usually found. Most likely because he is running the tapes so he doesn't become twisted. A small detail when Dandy is going through his twisted stages you can see a tear on Dandy's face which most likely means he does not want it to happen. However this could be debunked because of the dialogue once Dandy goes back to his original form.
Little Map Details -
Once you reach the cafeteria and what I will call the storage floor you find rooms with Ichor on the floor with footprints. I believe these are most likely Dandy as they are the only one that I know of the leave Ichor footprints. There is also a contract in one of the rooms where the founder signs a loan. This would be placed in 1994 most likely being the income used for the opening.
What I Believe Is Happening -
I believe we have come back to free our friends from the Ichor. This could be supported by the text from the "Extraction Cells" (that's what I will be calling them). saying "Extract Ichor". Most likely being us extracting the Ichor from the buildings hopefully freeing our friends from it. This could also be supported by the dialogue between the toons. We most likely have no clue the Dandy was the man in charge of the Ichor Operation and we don't know he caused all of this. This place has been closed for some time due to the debris. Finally what is one of my biggest questions. Did Dandy mean to cause this? I believe no. I think that the operation simply went wrong and spread from toon to toon corrupting them. Dandy was able to find a way to keep himself from becoming twisted but only for some time. It is most likely he took the most Ichor from this operation. I have a theory about why is Shelly is forgotten: When i first time see Shelly i thought she is just a normal toon but she's actually a main so maybe since Shelly loves to share facts about dinosaurs other toon/people are bored even some girls don't really like dinosaurs So maybe Shelly was forgotten and she turned into a twisted and make player confused her twisted form is quite big and really looks like dinosaur just to get revenge!

Shelly is technically a dinosaur (I think?) with her tail and the dinosaurs are from the past, like the poster we see and maybe she’s the past since most of us all forgot about the past. It’s sad but is a good theory.
