I absolutely agree. I remember I bought this game and my ps4 pro on black Friday 2017, and it was amazing. It gave me the same vibes I got from when I first played my first map on WW way back on day one of zombies! It was amazing.

Me and my buddies back when this was a new game had a some fun on the first map. The only problem I had with this game mode is the meh guns. But getting the pack a punch was really fun and the shovel animation when you melee a zombie was awesome. The zombies where also actually terrifying.

Best launch, but lack of proper direction made it fall flat very quickly. I remember seeing the teaser trailer back all those years ago and being really hyped. Zombies Chronicles came out earlier that year, so the community was at an all-time high. SHG kinda proved that Zombies wasn't their forte with this iteration. Sure, they had an excellent launch. But that's all they had: a great launch.
Their whole gamemode was mediocre through and through, even to this day. They were so focused on the "horror" aspect that the gameplay begs for something more. And with a convoluted storyline and unorthodox gameplay, it just didn't hit that spot that Treyarch or hell, even IW hit. Yea, the prologue set us up great, but that energy, nor the tense gameplay wasn't kept consistent throughout. It gets *very* boring when it's all the same shit. The horror aspect could've worked if the gameplay accommodated for it like the Prologue, but you sacrifice the open-world aspect of exploring a map for more linear, one sided gameplay. WW2 isn't like BO3 or CW where you have freedom to play a map and do whatever task in any order you so choose; it's already laid out for what you need to do, and it feels like the game is pampering you.
It's why they recruited Treyarch to work on their Zombies mode for Vanguard. They been doing it for years, and SHG could focus on their field: the multiplayer side of the game. Plus, Treyarch could make the mode work for their storyline and line-up of gamemodes.
    Good video! Definitely subbing
