At most, she could've been polite and maybe hinted that people were waiting and if you planned to leave soon. Sounds like she just had a bad day. Keep it up Scott!

How rude. It’s not your fault they were slow bringing the plates out. It’s all you can eat not a challenge and if her server would of served you on time and not make you wait you could’ve of been done with 10 plates already.
As always, very entertaining! When the exchange of money for the all you can eat buffet was done, you entered a implied contract, so there would be legal obligations to keep on both sides (if there was rules posted also on your end) and when they would have kicked you out, there would be reasons to sue the restaurant. However she didn't really kick you out (at least from the footage that was shown), she was just rude. This alone would not be considered breaking the contract if you leave on your own terms. However if she had from this point on also refused service then again it would be interesting to look into legal actions, because when you didn't break any rules then the risk is on the side of the restaurant.

First of all i like to mention that i am not a contract lawyer and also can't give you legal advice for the USA or Canada (english is not even my first language as you might can tell). However, i am interested in contract law and in your case she basically admitted that she wants to breach your contract because "she needs the table and other patrons are waiting" (also throwing in a guilt trip with them being elderly people) for financial gain which then can be considered fraud. There are rules to consider that are not written; when they are f. e. offering a lunch but also a dinner all you can eat and you decide to come in at noon, then you just can't sit there until the evening, since the implied contract was just for the lunch buffet / service and not the dinner all you can eat. The best thing you can do is to ask then specific questions when you encounter hostile behaviour on the side of the restaurant in the way of "so i am being cut off?" "are you kicking me out?" " what i did wrong?" and so on, so you have definitive evidence before the court. Also the restaurant can refuse service when it is after closing time, but i would stay until they trespass you by calling the police so the situation is already on the report of the police and you have her ID to then be able to take further actions. Also a drafted contract on your side from a contract lawyer would be helpful that you present towards the restaurant before you engage in their business that they have to sign. To sum it up, i honour your behaviour throughout the encounter; i couldn't be that restrained as you were!

Some restaurants should not offer AYCE if they can’t accept a few people beating the bank by eating more than their money’s worth. Like, the average customer is definitely not eating a lot, so the fact that they would slow down service and just straight up kick someone out cuz they were there eating too much? Just set a 2 hour time limit like everyone else

The person who kicked you out was the owner, says a lot about their lack of business skills. And to accuse you of taking too long when they were the ones purposely serving you slowly in an attempt to limit what you could eat, it's just disgraceful customer service all round. I can see why the owner was angry, but that was not the way to deal with it. Answering questions, and nibbling away, while blocking a 6 seat table as a single eater destroys revenue for a whole sitting. All you can eat profit is often marginal, but losing 5 covers, while you chat away, not buying drinks, when you describe the restaurant as “very busy” is disrespectful too. I owned a small, but popular, casual dining venue, and two people chatting for an hour over a coffee each (which had been empty for twenty minutes) on a busy lunch sitting while they could see people queuing and walking away could make me feel like this owner. I would have been even slower at bringing your next plate, as you were ruining the shift, but staff had to be paid…and receive tips! Do these chats it’s great to watch them, and hear the questions people ask, but do this at off peak times, or at venues that are corporate rather tha❤n someone’s personal risk. Please get all upset and hurt because people need to make a wage!

Never heard of "slow plating" until I watched this video. That really stinks. I'm only 30 minutes into the video and already dreading the end when you get verbally attacked. Not fair. I kinda get it. On one hand it was stupid to invite the bad publicity when you were clearly streaming, but at the same time an AYCE restaurant relies on turnover to make a profit. One guy sitting there eating a million pieces of fish when they're busy kinda sucks. If it were another time it would be different, but if there are people waiting to get in and can't because you're taking an entire table, I kinda get her attitude. Still stupid of her to invite the bad publicity, but I kinda get it.

Planned to eat there after u advertised....have since changed my mind. I would not want to have me or my family be treated that way. Unacceptable!
That's a load of shit. Service was terrible, decor is lackluster, and if the only customers are old people then that says a lot about the quality of their food.

I just went into their page and complained her I also left a review on TripAdvisor, I'd fire her sorry ass. I fired a waitress for bullying my customers before and id keep on doing it. As I tell my staff I don't pay your wages the customers do, respect them. Also customers have to respect my staff

That was very unprofessional the way the lady came to the table to shout at you rudely when you were clearly just partaking in their all you can eat. Worst case scenario she could have said hi I apologize but we’re so busy and I could really use this table. I can give you another plate and a to go one as well. Would that be okay with you? I mean it’s not hard but of course she was just upset and she couldn’t control her emotions which showed her unprofessionalism towards a happy customer before that interaction. The only sad thing was the service in that restaurant; to stand up for yourself when fraud is commited towards you because out of financial gain is is common sense insight a person with character that don't like to get pushed around so, in this case, the restaurant owner can take advantage of breaching the contract.
What is next.... you pay for a prostitute for an hour and then you have to wait in line because she sold the same hour to 15 other guys to maximize profit?

Wow Scott what made her think u were doing a challenge. She could've approached u in a better manner and I wasn't about people waiting. If they were so busy then she should've told othes food was coming out slow and it look as though they want u to finish ur plate before bringing more. Some restaurants should not offer AYCE if they can’t accept a few people beating the bank by eating more than their money’s worth. Like, the average customer is definitely not eating a lot, so the fact that they would slow down service and just straight up kick someone out cuz they were there eating too much? Just set a 2 hour time limit like everyone else

The person who kicked you out was the owner, says a lot about their lack of business skills. And to accuse you of taking too long when they were the ones purposely serving you slowly in an attempt to limit what you could eat, it's just disgraceful customer service all round. Sorry this happened, please don't go back there.

I can see why the owner was angry, but that was not the way to deal with it.
Answering questions, and nibbling away, while blocking a 6 seat table as a single eater destroys revenue for a whole sitting.
All you can eat profit is often marginal, but losing 5 covers, while you chat away, not buying drinks, when you describe the restaurant as “very busy” is disrespectful too.
I owned a small, but popular, casual dining venue, and two people chatting for an hour over a coffee each (which had been empty for twenty minutes) on a busy lunch sitting while they could see people queuing and walking away could make me feel like this owner.
I would have been even slower at bringing your next plate, as you were ruining the shift, but staff had to be paid…and receive tips!
Do these chats it’s great to watch them, and hear the questions people ask, but do this at off peak times, or at venues that are corporate rather tha❤n someone’s personal risk.
Please get all upset and hurt because people need to make a wage!

I kinda get it. On one hand it was stupid to invite the bad publicity when you were clearly streaming, but at the same time an AYCE restaurant relies on turnover to make a profit. One guy sitting there eating a million pieces of fish when they're busy kinda sucks. If it were another time it would be different, but if there are people waiting to get in and can't because you're taking an entire table, I kinda get her attitude. Still stupid of her to invite the bad publicity, but I kinda get it.

Kicking you out for doing only what they said that you could do if it wasn't all you could eat situation and that kicked you out for that. That was very unprofessional the way the lady came to the table to shout at you rudely when you were clearly just partaking in their all you can eat. Worst case scenario she could have said hi I apologize but we’re so busy and I could really use this table. I can give you another plate and a to go one as well. Would that be okay with you? I mean it’s not hard but of course she was just upset and she couldn’t control her emotions which showed her unprofessionalism towards a happy customer before that interaction.
