Scott, I've just watched this awesome video, & now I'm feeling so emotional, I don't know where to begin. I've been to some very poor provincial places in the Philippines back in the 1990's, but not quite like this one. Oh boy!. I just wanted to jump in & give little sister Ana a big hug & offer her whatever help... Her story is more than inspirational, it's an epic documentary about one person's struggle, resilience, & triumph over adversity. Ana deserves any & all rewards that may come her way. Yes...there are a very few that try to use foreigners for their money and those are the ones you hear about but in general, Filipinas are sweet, loving, hard working and happy with much less than women in the West who have generally become so materialistic and full of themselves they're barely tolerable. Not to mention, they are feminine and embrace being women. The woman in this video has shown herself to be able to thrive in pretty much any situation and the kind of woman a man could always depend on as a wife and mother! Sadly, the PI is overpopulated, she talked about idiots upstream polluting the water...this is common in the PI. non waste water treatment plants, human waste is dumped into the creeks, rivers and streams...

I don't know, but maybe if more in the west can get an appreciation of how the rest/majority of the world lives, then maybe we can do a little more to help spread the prosperity.

Shame theres so many that go to college and graduate yet cant find work in their chosen field and end up as domestic helpers abroad. Least this one was willing to put herself out, work, save and buy land so she could stay close to home and earn a good living. Pretty and nice accent to. PS, very fit as well.

This is what I am talking about Scotty Boy! Just think how you could immerse yourself in the area and really get to know and talk to the local people if you were there among them for a month. That is also how you will meet a quality woman who you will fall in love with. Use an area like this as your home base and take trips on your bike to really explore the area each day. Ana would make a great guide! Then repeat this in every area you visit.

Your video makes me think what a blessed lot we are and we never value what we have. Ana bought a piece of land @ USD1K and paid it off in 1 year. This video shows the real Philippines. Last time I visited the Bicol provinces many years ago it was just like this. People living from one day to the next. Hard life but some of the happiest people I have met.

Great video Scotty. My Fiancee has a similar story. Sent from her small town in Northern Samar to Manila to work as a nanny when she was 14 (her mother died when she was 12 and the new step mother refused to pay for her to go to highschool so she had no choice). While working as a nanny she got to do a highschool equivalency course but that was it. She was still working there when I met her (5.30am to 9.30pm with one day off each month for 8000 peso a month). After working there for 25 years, I now pay her to not work and she now lives in Catarman only a couple of hours away from her home town so she now gets to see her family. She owns 4 coconut farms in her home town but there is no road there (corruption always prevents one being built) so she doesn't make much from her copra as most of the profits are spent on paying people to carry the copra out to the main road (catarman to Calbayog) to be sold. I've only spent a few days in her home town as it's a little dangerous with the NPA popping up ever now and then. There was a gun battle ther last April between the AFP and NPA with 4 killed so have to be careful going ther but the area is beautiful.
I loved this video. Real life story of a woman growing up and overcoming her struggles. Torn emotionally by fear going to work in Manila. This story has everything and it is a genuine life story. This is quality journalism my friend.

This is what I am talking about Scotty Boy! Just think how you could immerse yourself in the area and really get to know and talk to the local people if you were there among them for a month. That is also how you will meet a quality woman who you will fall in love with. Use an area like this as your home base and take trips on your bike to really explore the area each day. Ana would make a great guide! Then repeat this in every area you visit.

Your video makes me think what a blessed lot we are and we never value what we have. Ana bought a piece of land @ USD1K and paid it off in 1 year. So many ppl just couldn't make a saving of 1K in years while making hundreds of time more than Ana. Thank you for the video.

This video shows the real Philippines. Last time I visited the Bicol provinces many years ago it was just like this. People living from one day to the next. Hard life but some of the happiest people I have met.

Wow, your best video and an amazing moving story
Great video Scotty. My Fiancee has a similar story. Sent from her small town in Northern Samar to Manila to work as a nanny when she was 14 (her mother died when she was 12 and the new step mother refused to pay for her to go to highschool so she had no choice). While working as a nanny she got to do a highschool equivalency course but that was it. She was still working there when I met her (5.30am to 9.30pm with one day off each month for 8000 peso a month). After working there for 25 years, I now pay her to not work and she now lives in Catarman only a couple of hours away from her home town so she now gets to see her family. She owns 4 coconut farms in her home town but there is no road there (corruption always prevents one being built) so she doesn't make much from her copra as most of the profits are spent on paying people to carry the copra out to the main road (catarman to Calbayog) to be sold. I've only spent a few days in her home town as it's a little dangerous with the NPA popping up ever now and then. There was a gun battle ther last April between the AFP and NPA with 4 killed so have to be careful going ther but the area is beautiful.

I loved this video. Real life story of a woman growing up and overcoming her struggles. Torn emotionally by fear going to work in Manila. This story has everything and it is a genuine life story. This is quality journalism my friend.
