  • This video is about to replace basin taps. It is not easy to access the taps without removing the whole basin but I am using simple wrench tool for 5 pounds that can be used both for basin or bath taps. Just hold it straight and you can undo the tap. Hope it will help with your diy projects.

Just saved my life! Had no idea I could isolate the tap. Mine broke off in my hand while running couldn't stop it. Thought I'd be without water in this heat!!

Nice simple video thank you - for lay men like me -might be a good idea to keep taps open to ensure valve is totally closed before unscrewing - great video tho !

has gone around around the world to take that off!
    1. Hold ur tap and give it a good twist
    2. It loosens the nuts under the basin
    3. Most of the time the tap will loosen that much u can use ur hands to take nut off ..

that won't work for taps on one block. also any leaking tap will have limescaled the hell out of the thread or someone gunked it on installation 30 years before and you ain't got no choice but to get stuck in from below and it can take an age if a one man job and no one to hold the tap above

Wish someone would do a video on how to remove a nut that will not turn !! I have all the tools and the muscle but I am trying to remove the nut from the cold tap on a bath ( so no space for extra leverage). I’ve tried heating it with blowtorch and soaking overnight in wd40. Nothing works. It will not budge. The hot tap came off easily. What else can I try ?!

What did you do in the end?

    • @user-yw6qb9tt7t

you need a nerrad or such tool that is a socket over the entire nut and you can turn with a straight bar from well below the tight space. alternatively i have had to go in with a small angle grinder and cut the thread and washer in half to get the washer off

@@roisin252 I purchased a sink wrench then clamped a monkey wrench to the bottom to give me enough torque to push against and that eventually did it. Good luck and merry Christmas

    One small one
How about telling us the size

15mm small one. Which is used for basin taps. 22mm big one. Which is used for the bath tap. I hope that helps 😁👍
