As good as Armie was it was Michael who brought the film home to me. That short speech was everything, the definition of a good supporting actor that elevated the film into classic territory. I hope he wins the Oscar.
Michael portrays the kind of dad most kids dream about... funny intelligent caring and understanding...& lets not forget his 'wife' in the film... shes a beautiful woman & loving mom too )))
Listening to him brings me back to that scene (Him and Timmy). Made me say his acting in that scene was so natural, with in-depth emotions in the calmness of his voice. I just wanna cry in every word he is uttering. What a brilliant man/actor!
Call Me By Your Name will go down in history as one of AFI's best movies of all time. Everything in it just transcends what a movie necessarily is -- when you make grown men cry because they've traveled back to their youth and yearned for that kind of acceptance and understanding from their parents, and that kind of wisdom when they felt so lost -- I mean, that performance coupled with this movie. Eternal. One of the greatest movies of all time.
Both he and Armie need to get nominated. Stuhlbarg has been great in everything he's ever been in, and this was a mountain top for him, it needs to be acknowledged.
Mr Stuhlbarg, a very humble and sincere THANK YOU for your wonderful performance in "Call me by Your name." Thank you for this interview, the depth of your knowledge and love for your work really shines through and inspires.
I saw him in two movies today (Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name) I loved both characters because of their humanity and intelligence as well as warmth also had no fucking clue he played both characters. Those performances almost made me shed tears because they were so damn compassionate. Love this actor already now!
Wow-fascinating to hear the part about how he doesn't really consider himself, or know if he will continue to be, an actor. He just goes into it because it gets him out of his shell and it's fun. I love that.
I hadn’t heard of him before CMBYN. I absolutely loved his role, and I’m planning to watch his other work. This is a really fascinating interview, thank you!
in every interview I have seen about making this movie, the participants all seem to have had an incredible time. i think it must be true because this positive attitude comes from all quarters.
What an impressive acting resume. So far, he has worked with: Woody Allen Danny Boyle The Coens Luca Guadagnino Martin McDonagh Martin Scorsese Ridley Scott Steven Spielberg Guillermo Del Toro Denis Villeneuve
My gosh! He is a REALLY good actor. I admit I don't know him. Don't know much actors. But seeing the movie and him in this interview, I was surprised. He's too different from the one I saw on film. I mean... I thought he actually looked and is really like the one in the movie haha 😭
Appalling that he wasn't nominated for any of the biggest awards. Academy, Golden Globes, BAFTA, SAG: how could all of them pass him over is beyond me. Guess his role and performance was too subtle to be noticed. Only the BFCA (no coincidence, a CRITICS association) nominated both him and Hammer.
He exudes kidness, calmness, and intelligence
Jinsoul Yes he does! Perfectly said.
He's so spiritual and charming that I made him a character in my novel. Just as he is.
As good as Armie was it was Michael who brought the film home to me. That short speech was everything, the definition of a good supporting actor that elevated the film into classic territory. I hope he wins the Oscar.
ninethreefivesix agreed: to me, Armie & Timothée are co-leads. Michael is in a true supporting role.
I love his calm voice

Wow-fascinating to hear the part about how he doesn't really consider himself, or know if he will continue to be, an actor. He just goes into it because it gets him out of his shell and it's fun. I love that.
He is actually in three movies that will very likely be nominated for Best Picture: Call Me by Your Name, The Post, and The Shape of Water.
he would've been the perfect Robin Williams if his estate had allowed a film
Chris Carmona That’s actually a good choice.
crazy how much he looked like him in the entire movie
Carianne R. Hixson who resembles Bono and Daniel Radcliffe
Exquisite person and actor. It’s always fascinating to hear what he has to share about his work.
Are we gonna get one with Armie?
He was in some of the best movies of 2017.He is a great actor and seems like a lovely person
He looks like a mix of joaquin phoenix and robin williams
Lovely man. He was very different in Arrival and Men in Black 3. He's a wonderful actor.

It's hard to separate the art from the artist especially given the content of his work; totally understandable.
And that's in like one decade. Incredible portfolio for sure
I'd love to see him collaborate with Wes Anderson or Agnieska Holland.
He's such a beautiful person
I 💘 this man so much!
One of the finest actors!!!!!
Michael Stuhlbarg played a wonderful and powerful part in 'Call Me By Your Name'. The seen at the end of the film was so powerful. Absolutely great!
He will always been Arnold Rothstein to me.
Caoimhe Clancy yeeeeees! Sadly Poland didn’t mention this.
I bet it all...
I wish he was my therapist.
Boardwalk Empire has really helped the careers of Stuhlbarg, Michael Shannon and Shea Wigham. That show helped launch some careers.
4:58 That hand thing is hypnotic..
He is quite a different person without the beard and mustache .
Gongkiat ,
I want to meet him ! He's influential and extremely talented. No wonder he's been seeked by most renowned directors.
My gosh! He is a REALLY good actor. I admit I don't know him. Don't know much actors. But seeing the movie and him in this interview, I was surprised. He's too different from the one I saw on film. I mean... I thought he actually looked and is really like the one in the movie haha 😭

The man got a taste to rely on
the man looks exaccctttlly like joaquini Phoenix and Stipe Miocic it's not even funny
He's a genius in his craft.
