I've played D2 since it came out and have never found ethereal Titans . I don't even know where I got all the extra hours to play the game - between working and everything else . But it is my favorite game and from a programming perspective - it was the most advanced computer program in design and offered all kinds of combinations for many aspects of its gameplay . I haven't found any game I have liked better since . Love this game !!!

You shouldn't use infinity as a reference, 99% of the playerbase won't ever have one. You can showcase the end-game potential of it but I'm afraid many newcomers will look at this guide and be disappointed when they realize they'll never afford it. IAS throwing spears are okay.. but Dense throwing spears are where it's at, increases the stack size up to 200. Find two and you'll basically never have to go back to town.
I think I've only made one javazon since 1.9 and I came to the realization you NEED griffans, infinity and phoenix for it to even be as enjoyable as you remember it. Good luck with that.

Just joined and I can say I'm surprised... I have took advantage and maxed out of the dodge and evade, by the time I got Diablo... Barely 5 hits taken and using lightning javelin in combo... Really best suited for solo runs
Your Icy Veins "Amazon Leveling Build" should be this one. The written guide on Icy follows it pretty much, the current written one has you starting as a Bowazon and doesn't match the video posted there. I mentioned this like a year ago. I guess nobody checked.
Yeah, for the frost maiden it mentioned a "generic bowazon" build, but then when you click for more information, the fadtest leveling guide is for javazon. It would be nice if there was a fastest version (javazon) and a bowazon one for others wishing to play through as a bowazon. Yes, i know it's not nearly as fast or easy, but some people might want it. Fyi, I typically go for about 10 in magic arrow with plus skills, and pick an elemental arrow, cold or fire. Get Valkyrie to 14-15 around nightmare so you have a reliable tank through hell. Physical bowazons require really good gear and lots of crushing blow (missile weapons take a CB penalty to compensate for range benefit) and life/mana leech. So I dont advise this for leveling. Edit: forgot to add 1 point in critical strike, penetrate and pierce. Then add points to penetrate and pierce as needed. You can always respec to reallocate your points in the 30s or later or respec to a different build.
Great guide, you always add little details other people leave out. I didn't know what facets were, until I saw some in your armor and shields. I did have to Google them, because you said what they were.
Javazon is my jam! I’m always working towards my Java. Usually always start with Sorcs onto Hammy then when enough gear is built up I dive into strafer or Java depending on what gear has been found. With Java having such shit breakpoints and her skills doing much of the legwork I usually just focus on MF gear and +skills and I’m usually ok…. Barring it’s decent gear with MF. I’ve done fine with basic Shako, skulders, chanceguards, goldwrap and then a little augment with some mana/life leech since I switch out insight on merc for breaking resists as needed.
I'd HIGHLY suggest not getting Valkyrie. At least not in the final build. The tank summon is nice but the Dodge/Avoid/Evade you have to unlock to get there keep the Amazon from doing anything when they happen. Made the game so much easier late game when I respeced out of of Valk and those skills.

My personal pro tip, if you have full Arctic set, even if you're leveling java, it will carry you through act 2 + while you level javelin skills easy, and you can skip a respec that way too. Just rush strength and dex, use charms/rings to boost it if you got em, and carry stam potions until you can start dumping vit
stealskull + treachery + eth thresher obedience is a really good budget merc combo, you hit the mercs 55 ias speed breakpoint for attacks, crushing blow, good damage, life leech, fade, etc..
7:20 important note: only the lightning damage will always hit. attack rating is still needed for phys damage. and pre-infinity it's pretty needed to deal with lightning immunes.

Regarding merc equipment and treachery armor. A tip for newer players. The buff from the treachery armor is powerful and lasts a long time. On hardcore character I like to put my mercs treachery armor on my character to get the buff. Then put the treachery back on the merc. When the buff is gone switch again. Sometimes it can be tricky to activate the buff but there are tricks to do it. For example you can stand in fire (if I remember correctly was a while since I played). Also enemies that attack very quickly are good for triggering it. Perhaps not something to do constantly but for harder upcoming fights it's nice. Also for hardcore of course.
Ive actually just finished my javazon with all the gear mentioned but I don't use a ravenfrost or a sunder since even without those two you're still fast enough if you pay attention to cold damage dealers and your physical damage is still high enough through lightning fury and charged strike that I use two life leech rings with resists that I could literally walk through any area with little to no problem and im only 79!
@@SLlNKl Depends if you are pub farming or mostly solo. If you are solo then DOT AOE is far superior for speed leveling than high single target damage. Respecs while "once per difficulty" are common now that you can farm dusts for infinite respecs.
Yeah, I wouldn't use more than one respec for leveling. The other ones are too valuable for adjusting your stats and skills as you find pieces of end game gear. Yes, you can farm tokens but that can take a while.
I really like these. In terms of shortening the vid - i am an amateur player and when you go over all those rings and unique helms etc it does not have much value for me. I understand when you say focus on life, dex, str. Some more experienced players may enjoy that, but making a video that satisfies rookies and experts and covers all that you cover while cutting it shorter may not be good for either of the groups :)

of course it is good without it, few people have Infinity, the rest dont, try using Reaper's Toll ( eth if possible) , which is very good, or Insight for mana recovery

Why you need both poison javelin and power strike in the early game? Why not picking one and investing all the points into it rather than dividing the points 6/11 ?

All-around characters that performs decently or min-maxed end game stats+skills for eventually BiS gear? And is it pvp oriented or pve ? Tried following along your trap assa guide, and you said in that vid you usually end up at 40-60 allocated str? But a spirit monarch is 156 required.. sorry for the long post just a bit confused :)

Was playing along your leveling guide before Resurected came out and boy oh boy. On Hell literally everything is lightning ummune. you better get those GG items fast or are in for a effing annoying time with this character xD
You said you dont need attack rating for charged strike and lighting fury but when im on battlefield i see that attack rating appears and average chance to hit appears too, they change somthin on launch ? When i have charms in inv that gives you attack rating my damange increases.
This is old information, lightning fury/charged strike are your 2 main skills, so max those first, then either LS or PS, max lightning bolt last, you want to max power strike as it buffs charged strike.
Why Ethereal Titan's for the Javelin? Do you need to repair it with Ort runes before it runs out when throwing them with lighting fury? Or does Lighting Fury not use up the ammo?
eth titans helps you with physical damage, but normal titans are better, you can repair them when you ran out quantity, with eth you can't repair them, and you must wait, and of course, they are also expensive
Just started up an HC single player javazon. Excited but a little worried. My sorceress is doing absolutely fantastic, it just feels like it's gonna be easier to die on a zon.
Referring to the difficulty to obtain the item. For example, the runeword “Spirit” cannot be bought from a merchant but is considered cheap because of how easy it is to find the runes. The more rare the item, the more “expensive”
What about the Lightning Immunes in HELL. I'm having very VERY hard time with this 😞. I do not have Infinity, best I have is Insight and I'll look into making that Treachery. But looks like I need to make the Insight out of the Cryptic since the CV eth requires 200 str, and he's like 76 level.

You often put a Call to Arms flail in the second weapon slot which gives you access to some barbarian buff skills. So you switch to that flail, cast the buffs, then switch back to you main weapon.

I have a few questions about the amazon. How do you make the amazon not die instantly from a stiff breeze? how do you play an amazon without spending all your money on tp scrolls to go fill your inventory with potions again? how do play the amazon without wanting to kill yourself every minute? why do they call it a remaster if the only playable class is the paladin?
Casual player coming back: Question- You mention only putting points into Str enough for armour and only Vitality after that. Do you gain passive dex in enough time to equip some of the gear you find? I'm not noticing any climbing of the stats naturally but I could just be missing something .
Nah your stats don't passively increase in d2, you'll need to increase your dex to equip gear (mainly javelins) and it wasn't clear in the video. Dump as much as you can in vita, increase str and dex from time to time (40ish in each when you reach NM)
I'm a wee bit confused. Why do you want an ethereal weapon? Does lightning fury not consume a javelin? What about the durability hit from when you die? I must be missing something.
You want an ethereal weapon like Titan's because of it having the "replenishes quantity" ability. Durability isn't a factor with javelins, only quantity. So the ethereal aspect will give increased damage, without the problem of it breaking. If it runs out of javelins, just wait for them to replenish.
If you have razortail equipped doesn't that mean you wouldn't need to put a skill points into pierce? Also, I made this character but had trouble in hell difficulty whenever I encountered lightning immune enemies. I even got infinity weapon for my merc which was expensive for the conviction but still had issues. Especially for elites like the cow king who are lightning immune and physical immune. My merc dies and I can't kill the cow king. Is there a viable solution in that situation?
I think the build necessarily all those steps while leveling, guess is best to actually feel how your char is doing. If you are doing decent early on, there is no need to spend points on skill you don't actually use later on, as the buff from synergies are a lot worse from a point invested in the used skill. For example investing all those points in power strike at the beginning is meh, I'd rather put only 1 point in it and get some passive crit instead.
Thanks, excellent guide. I'm still a bit unsure about whether the valkyrie sub tree is worth putting 4-21 points into when solo'ing and starting from scratch. Beside the tankiness, does she really help with immunes? or is the charge wand more than enough?
Any advice on killing the nightmare Lightning immunes in Baals chamber>? I dont have the physical damage and my merc just dies. Do I need Valk? Also i have a question regarding the peace runeword. On d2Fandom, It says " It is impossible to have more than one Valkyrie summoned at a time, so this armor is wasted to an extent on an Amazon who already uses the Valkyrie skill" In this video, llama makes it sound like the armor is not worth using UNLESS you have 1 point invested in Valk. which is it?
I'll be honest, I'm not sire whst he's talking about since i always put points in valkyrie. But maybe there is a bug where the valkyrie won't persist if you have zero points in it? Idk. That's the only explanation I can think of. Side note on usefulness of this ability: the chance to cast valkyrie on strike means it puts a meatshield in between you and your target, so you sont have to manually cast to reposition her. Although you still may want to. And also if your valkyrie skill exceeds 15 you may want to upgrade to a different armor. Mavina's would be a good choice as it has +2 to passive and magic skills.
Does anyone know if we can inspect characters? Being able to inspect the Valkyrie, and look at its equipped gear was an easy to way to add a tad of power/utility to it.
No that's not possible. But a long time ago, there was a map hack that had an inspect utility. You could actually see the gear the Valk was wearing! It was pretty neat!

True, evade/avoid and dodge are terrible , you can get stunlocked . The build is much better without them

Your guides are good but I wish you’d show actual gameplay of these builds for new players deciding what to play.
These guides aren't for new players, it's just a deeper dive for people already familiar with the game

Thresher 4 max socks :( I've had serious trouble getting obedience bases in my day haha. Doesn't take away from what you said though, amazing build

My .02 cents for this. Phoenix is my go to end gear shield. Especially if you already have infinity. Not needing to pot is a game changer

That's a call to arms. Gives you the skill battle order and stuff. You swap to it, cast the shouts, then go back to your main weapon.

of course it is good without it, few people have Infinity, the rest dont, try using Reaper's Toll ( eth if possible) , which is very good, or Insight for mana recovery

It’s just one you pump to increase the damage of your LF/CS so definitely not until those are both maxed out.

The leveling skills was a little off because you can't put 5 points into power strike right away if your horde 5 points.
What about spirit shield makes it more appealing than say a stormshield with a light facet? Just the + to skills?
can I play a Javazon with maxed out valkyre? I always loved the valkyre but dont want to butcher my dmg to much
Am I missing something? I can't use the saved up skills once Power Strike is unlocked. I can only use one skill point on it.
Why you need both poison javelin and power strike in the early game? Why not picking one and investing all the points into it rather than dividing the points 6/11 ?
Nice guides! I'm just not quite sure what these guides are for? Are they for levelling single player characters? All-around characters that performs decently or min-maxed end game stats+skills for eventually BiS gear? And is it pvp oriented or pve ? Tried following along your trap assa guide, and you said in that vid you usually end up at 40-60 allocated str? But a spirit monarch is 156 required.. sorry for the long post just a bit confused :)

You said you dont need attack rating for charged strike and lighting fury but when im on battlefield i see that attack rating appears and average chance to hit appears too, they change somthin on launch ? When i have charms in inv that gives you attack rating my damange increases.

Why is lightning strike not levelep up and charged strike is rather prioritized?
This is old information, lightning fury/charged strike are your 2 main skills, so max those first, then either LS or PS, max lightning bolt last, you want to max power strike as it buffs charged strike.
Why Ethereal Titan's for the Javelin? Do you need to repair it with Ort runes before it runs out when throwing them with lighting fury? Or does Lighting Fury not use up the ammo?
they auto repair. I actually run two pairs of them so while one is replenishing I can use the others haha.
If you use Eth titans you need multiple pairs, you throw javs way faster than they replenish.
eth titans helps you with physical damage, but normal titans are better, you can repair them when you ran out quantity, with eth you can't repair them, and you must wait, and of course, they are also expensive
Just started up an HC single player javazon. Excited but a little worried. My sorceress is doing absolutely fantastic, it just feels like it's gonna be easier to die on a zon.
What does he mean by X item is “pretty cheap”? Isn’t this all magic find or time invested? Or is there some other currencies he is referring to?
Referring to the difficulty to obtain the item. For example, the runeword “Spirit” cannot be bought from a merchant but is considered cheap because of how easy it is to find the runes. The more rare the item, the more “expensive”
You don't mention putting anything into DEX but the weapon have 99 DEX requirement. Do you compensate by other items or you have to spec some DEX?

What about the Lightning Immunes in HELL. I'm having very VERY hard time with this 😞. I do not have Infinity, best I have is Insight and I'll look into making that Treachery. But looks like I need to make the Insight out of the Cryptic since the CV eth requires 200 str, and he's like 76 level.

You often put a Call to Arms flail in the second weapon slot which gives you access to some barbarian buff skills. So you switch to that flail, cast the buffs, then switch back to you main weapon.

How do you kill immune lighting?
I need to know too so annoying . I’m guessing having your Valkyrie and your act2 merc with the insight will kill them
@@HELL_HOUND13 Merc, Valk, and potentially weapon swap to a high physcial dmg spear + Jab. Usually you just walk away espeically if your early into Hell
Infinity runeword reduces lighting resistance. Very expensive runeword though
you simple use your merc to kill them, or play together with a friend with other elemental damage, simple as that!
I have a few questions about the amazon. How do you make the amazon not die instantly from a stiff breeze? how do you play an amazon without spending all your money on tp scrolls to go fill your inventory with potions again? how do play the amazon without wanting to kill yourself every minute? why do they call it a remaster if the only playable class is the paladin?

Casual player coming back: Question- You mention only putting points into Str enough for armour and only Vitality after that. Do you gain passive dex in enough time to equip some of the gear you find? I'm not noticing any climbing of the stats naturally but I could just be missing something .
Nah your stats don't passively increase in d2, you'll need to increase your dex to equip gear (mainly javelins) and it wasn't clear in the video. Dump as much as you can in vita, increase str and dex from time to time (40ish in each when you reach NM)
I'm a wee bit confused. Why do you want an ethereal weapon? Does lightning fury not consume a javelin? What about the durability hit from when you die? I must be missing something.
Titans has no durability and
Replenish its self :)
You want an ethereal weapon like Titan's because of it having the "replenishes quantity" ability. Durability isn't a factor with javelins, only quantity. So the ethereal aspect will give increased damage, without the problem of it breaking. If it runs out of javelins, just wait for them to replenish.

If you have razortail equipped doesn't that mean you wouldn't need to put a skill points into pierce? Also, I made this character but had trouble in hell difficulty whenever I encountered lightning immune enemies. I even got infinity weapon for my merc which was expensive for the conviction but still had issues. Especially for elites like the cow king who are lightning immune and physical immune. My merc dies and I can't kill the cow king. Is there a viable solution in that situation?

World stone 1 2 3 are good too always check for non immune rolls in games.
I think the build necessarily all those steps while leveling, guess is best to actually feel how your char is doing. If you are doing decent early on, there is no need to spend points on skill you don't actually use later on, as the buff from synergies are a lot worse from a point invested in the used skill. For example investing all those points in power strike at the beginning is meh, I'd rather put only 1 point in it and get some passive crit instead.
Thanks, excellent guide. I'm still a bit unsure about whether the valkyrie sub tree is worth putting 4-21 points into when solo'ing and starting from scratch. Beside the tankiness, does she really help with immunes? or is the charge wand more than enough?
All the points aren't just for Valkerie, it's to get all the passive bonuses that will benefit from your +x to skills

On d2Fandom, It says " It is impossible to have more than one Valkyrie summoned at a time, so this armor is wasted to an extent on an Amazon who already uses the Valkyrie skill"
In this video, llama makes it sound like the armor is not worth using UNLESS you have 1 point invested in Valk. which is it?
I'll be honest, I'm not sire whst he's talking about since i always put points in valkyrie. But maybe there is a bug where the valkyrie won't persist if you have zero points in it? Idk. That's the only explanation I can think of.
Side note on usefulness of this ability: the chance to cast valkyrie on strike means it puts a meatshield in between you and your target, so you sont have to manually cast to reposition her. Although you still may want to. And also if your valkyrie skill exceeds 15 you may want to upgrade to a different armor. Mavina's would be a good choice as it has +2 to passive and magic skills.
One thing i don't understand is how it seems like he has infinite respecs and stash tabs. Could anyome explain how he does that?
Does anyone know if we can inspect characters? Being able to inspect the Valkyrie, and look at its equipped gear was an easy to way to add a tad of power/utility to it.
No that's not possible. But a long time ago, there was a map hack that had an inspect utility. You could actually see the gear the Valk was wearing! It was pretty neat!
