I bought a bunch of Gellen Gel polishes off of Amazon during the lightning deals for the holidays. The Top Coat in the top and base coat kit arrived completely dried up-like glue. Apparently, this happens continually with this product and it is always with the top coat. In one of the multi-color packs I bought, the glitter polish is totally gunky unusable. You cannot return them to Amazon because they are flammable, so purchase at your own risk. The rest of the colors and the base coat seem fine. Thank you for swatching these.

Im new to gel and I got the exact same gellen polish kit u have in this video. So do I not need a base and top coat? I also got the makartt polygel kit which came with a base and top coat.. can I use those with the gellen do u Kno?
Yes you need a base and top for natural nails. A dehydrator or wiping with alcohol after filing the surface of your nail will help the gel grab to the nail. For acrylic only use a top coat ☺️

But ameli no wipe top coat is NICE!!! Compared to the azure no wipe top coat there really isn’t much of a competition. I feel bad writing that but ameli ( I think that’s spelled right) is a good cheap amazon brand, that I am going to start investing in.

Has anyone else had problems removing Gellen? I have about 15 colors and NONE of them come off. Any suggestions? Please help! I’m filing first, using pure acetone, and pushing with a metal cuticle pusher. I know I’m doing it right because this is the ONLY brand I can’t remove.
I would say be sure you are applying very thin coats of this polish. With that said I use an e file to remove the top layer and then soak with acetone. Are you pouring acetone in a bowl? Have you tried using a hand file instead of cuticle pushed to remove?
Verenice Gonzalez for me it lasts a full week with no chips, 2 weeks with a few chips. Looses shine after about a week, but keep in mind I’m pretty rough on my nails

fruitoson make sure you are using the best prep you can especially for natural nails which have a lot of oils that can cause peeling. I use these on clients and they last for weeks!

I don’t use their base and topcoat, I prefer opi or gelish for base and I use the kupa non wipe for top!

Do you need the base coat and top coats from the same brand in order for the colours to adhere/set/cure properly or can you mix and match?
You can mix and match, at least that is what I have been doing and everything seems fine so far.
As ling as you cleanse the tacky layer off, you can miz and match all you want. I haven't had any issues with Gellen

Do you need to buff, apply base coat, and then swatch gel or can you just use alcohol and swatch gel right on plastic stick?
Kiki Kelly I usually use buff remove with alcohol and go! You can also skip the buffing I don’t always do it!

kathy k yes you can do ombré with gel but for me it’s a little harder. Try using a cosmetic sponge and doing a few layers to build up the look ❤️

I bought the elite 99 gelish, how long do you recommend curing in a led/uv lamp?
cat guerra 60 seconds in a led and 2 minutes in a uv should do it! Don’t forget to top coat and remove tacky layer after as well
