As a big Mr. Negative user, this deck just hits. I've been testing out Serra Surfer decks with Shaw. This just works better. I love that it is a Surfer deck with Wong and all, but plays like a Negative deck. Awesome job.
@003bsgj Thank you for giving the deck a shot! I’m happy it’s working out for you, have you been able to test it against the current wave of Thanos Blob decks?
@Legiontato no, not yet. I 8 cubed a knull destroy deck. 8 cubed a mirror deck with a Wong black panther arnum Zola variation. 4 cubed a move deck with werewolf. As well as a couple other not so memorable decks. I did retreat a couple times when I didn't pull Magic or Zabu. Turns out the only downside I've experienced is you must have a turn 7, because there's not much to do in turns one and two besides plotting your moves 3-7.
@Legiontato ok, an update... I have just encountered my first blob deck. It's running the tribunal. I absolutely smashed it. It was a 4 cube, I snapped early, they wouldn't snap back. Now I did make one change. It really needed it. The early curve was just off. It needed another low cost ramp card. After careful consideration I determined that the only card I could do without was wolvesbane. The two options were Psylock and Romona. If you don't have Romona, obviously use Psylock. And she kills it in this deck. Not only does she improve the overall energy curve, but she's a mini Serra for all the negative cards you have. Especially if you don't pull Mr Negative. But it's another way to get to him faster. Give it a go. It's a real improvement on an already promising deck.
@003bsgj Thanks for the update! I agree that Wolfsbane does seem cuttable, especially when we can consider Shaw being able to fill her role quite nicely. I’ll try the deck out with Psylocke but looking forward to getting Ravonna and slotting her instead to increase the overall consistency of the deck.
@@Legiontato i didnt have deck space before so far to test it out, but now after a few runs i feel like that was the missing link exactly from the deck, often i would skip turn 3 not wanting to play anything if i cant negative or magik. That shaw fills that void and provides almost insta win on location if pull off the wong combo. My negative surfer infinite deck i ran was the same actually with 1 flex slot that was ravonna atm(it does good weird things sometimes, but not so necessary i feel and weak) also i prefer bast to forge as you have in * too. Deck is really good. Will try to get ez infinite with this.(might try zabu>ravonna but then cant wong+mystique turn 6 that's really good win condition too.)
@santa6417 You put it perfectly as to why Shaw feels good in this deck! I felt Bast was definitely stronger in most cases after testing her out more, I opted to include Forge to give Shaw a bit more chances to shine, but Shaw ended up not needing the extra help. I’m hoping to get Ravonna in this weeks spotlight cache, still missing her, she seems super fun! Good luck on hitting the ez infinite!
