"kumpul kebo" for some people means "the gathering of water buffaloes",
the fact is "kebo" isn't derived from the word "kerbau (water buffaloes)" but it is derived from the word "gebouw (building, in Dutch language)", so "kumpul kebo" means "gathering under one roof".
fyi, there are some vocabs in Indonesia derived from Dutch (cuz of colonization).

The original term was koempoel gebouw. In Dutch, gebouw means building or house, so koempoel gebouw means gathering under one roof. The term gebouw changed to kebo, so it became kumpul kebo. Meanwhile, cohabitation comes from Latin via English, "cohabitation" (in the original Latin co-habitare, living together).

Quoting Wikipedia, the term Kumpul Kebo is actually a mixture of the old spelling (Indonesian) and Dutch, namely Koempoel Gebouw. Koempoel means gathering, while Gebouw means building or roof. So, koempoel gebouw can be interpreted as gathering in one house or one roof.
